River's Bend Ranch is a guest ranch and venue owned and operated by the McConnell family for almost 40 years. We sit on over 250 beautiful acres nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the George Washington National Forest. With a half-mile of shoreline on the Shenandoah River and 360-degree mountain views, RBR offers a perfect setting for family vacations and reunions, weddings, corporate retreats, or just a quiet weekend getaway.
On the ranch guests can enjoy fishing, birding, and walking trails, as well as lawn games and our indoor game room. Trail rides along our piece of the Shenandoah's South Fork are available to guests and the general public, and can accommodate any riding ability. With the quaint town of Luray, its famous Caverns, and the incredible Skyline Drive just a few miles out, RBR offers access to activities for all tastes and ages.

Our three-story Bunk House has ten bedrooms, each with a separate bath, and most with a private balcony. Twin, queen and king beds available, sleeping up to 20 people! A comfortable living room, fully-equipped kitchen, a TV common room, and a large banquet room make this an ideal place for small corporate or group meetings, as well as family reunions. Linens and kitchenware provided. Beautiful mountain views from the upper and lower decks, and a hot tub under the stars! Fire pit and gas grill - firewood and propane also provided.

Perfectly beautiful and spacious!

We rented the bunk house for a marriage retreat. It was perfect as all rooms had bathrooms and there was plenty of sitting areas. What topped it off was the ranch. Not only was it breathtaking and beautiful, there was soo much to do. So many trails to walk and animals to see. The property manager and owners were also very kind and very responsive. They made us feel like home. Our young boys asked if we can come back monthly as they had sooo much fun outside. This is definitely a place to come back to.

JMU graduation/80th b-day/Mother's Day

We had a great time. The house was large. The host and others were very accommodating. We celebrated my daughter's Nursing graduation from JMU. We celebrated my Dad's 80th birthday. We celebrated Mother's Day. Every bed was slept in except one. The hot tub was enjoyed. We ate incredibly. Thank you so much. Mark Brown

Great place for our large family!!!

We loved the Bunk House as a central location for several families to come together. Having so many bedrooms and bathrooms made it perfect! We loved the ranch area and the accommodations. Everyone was so nice and made us feel welcome! With so much room, we could all eat together and have family gathering times. The fire pit and hot tub were perfect too. We will definitely come back!
