A wonderful week at the lake!

We were very happy with our accommodations. The property was spacious and had everything we needed. The pantry with all the storage was a definite plus for us. Sam, our contact, was really helpful and responded very quickly to my questions. Definitely, 5 out of 5 stars from our group!

Great facilities

Plenty of beds and baths. Nice kitchen. Several gathering areas, but also room to get away when you want solitude. Our only concern was the many cameras around the premises.

Great family vacation spot

We had a great time with our family at this property, we rented the main house and one of the smaller houses and it worked out great. We spent a lot of time down at the water and enjoyed the evenings around the fire pit. We range in age from 3 months old to 60+ and everyone had a great time. Highly recommend staying here.

Blended family trip

This house was perfect for our group. We brought our adult children and their spouses/sig others and there was a perfect set up for all couples to have their own room and bathrooms. The beach area was small but all we needed since we brought a baby with us and staying on the property for the day was much easier than lugging everything to the beach!

A Beautiful Lake House

Our family enjoyed staying at this beautiful property. It was very spacious and comfortable for 11 people. When not spending time at he beach, we were using the game room. The house was very clean except for a hair trap in an upstairs bathroom shower which caused it to overflow. Communication with the property manager was excellent. It was not mentioned in the listing or shown in the pictures that there are many steps going down to the beach which was an issue for our senior family member. I deducted some points for not including this info in the listing.

Wonderful week on the lake

This was a perfect location for my family, my brothers family and our parents to spend a week together (6 kids, 6 adults). The house is large enough to spread out, the kids were able to hang out without being underfoot while other read, played games or just chatted. The beach has significant erosion but the kids loved swimming and searching for interesting stones anyway. We had a beautiful week.

Multiple kitchens and refrigerators. The kids loved the rec room in the main house and the hottub. Host is very responsive. We look forward to coming back next year!!

Great place for a large group!

The house was just as represented. It's an older home with the bathrooms and some flooring updated. Probably the best kitchen we have had for fixing large meals for a group, plenty of dishes, silverware, all kinds of utensils, and large pots & pans, and it includes a pantry room off the kitchen with a second refrigerator. Plenty to do - hot tub, pool table, foosball, ping pong, air hockey all in the basement. Two fire pit areas. Beach area is mostly rocky and you will definitely want water shoes. A few of us waded in but the water was still pretty chilly in early July. Nice to have kayaks to go exploring. Bring beach towels - all other linens provided. Sam the property manager was very responsive whenever we had a question.

Annual family vacation

Beautiful spacious home and property that met the needs and wants for 3 generations. Our group of 12 enjoyed the outdoor space and beach area. The hot tub was a welcome surprise for us old folks. Indoors the kitchen area, extra refrigerator, and storage shelves made meal prep and organization a breeze. The bedrooms are large; the bathrooms plentiful and newly renovated. This was our first trip to the Lake Huron coast and you’ll not see a more beautiful sunrise anywhere.

Best Lake house vacation!

We booked this house for a family reunion last year and loved it so much we returned this year! The house is beautiful, clean, and spacious. There are plenty of rooms and spaces for everyone to feel comfortable hanging out together or having some quiet alone time. Our family includes people ranging from young children through grandparents, and there were activities for all of us. The beach is quiet and peaceful-a great place to relax, swim, kayak, or paddle board. We highly recommend waking for the sunrise at least once! The yard is big enough to enjoy outdoor games, as well as enjoy a campfire. This has truly become our family's favorite place, and we hope to enjoy making many more memories here in years to come!

Perfect for large family gatherings!

We have rented quite a few homes in the Lexington/Port Sanilac area, and none of them have fit our family’s needs as nicely as this property. The home is quite large and has extremely roomy bedrooms. Each year the owner has continued to make improvements to this already very nice property. This year they not only redid the basement, but more importantly for us they added a bedroom and full bath to the main floor. The addition of the main floor bedroom was a life saver this year since my elderly mother had hurt herself and was unable to navigate stairs safely. Though the house has tons of space and could sleep everyone in the family, some members still prefer to stay in their own cottage. This property has two additional houses that can be rented, VRBO# 451356 & 484682, which for us makes it the perfect place to stay. We have just booked it for the fourth time!

Wonderful family reunion vacation

Our family enjoyed our third year in the big house for our family reunion. The house accommodates our family of 14 (3 generations of us!) comfortably with plenty of room to spare. We enjoyed family meals in the large and well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Most of our time was spent on the beautiful beach, enjoying the water, kayaking, and watching the boats and birds--even a bald eagle!--go by. Our evenings were spent relaxing in the house and game room, and enjoying the fire pit and grounds with outdoor games. Our trips into Lexington and Port Sanilac for ice cream and shopping were fun, and we especially enjoyed our putt-putt golf outing in Lexington. We were very well taken care of by Sam, the property manager. After getting us settled in, he was available to help and answer questions whenever we needed him. We had an amazing vacation and owe its success in large part to our beautiful accommodations and the welcome that Sam provided. We look forward to going "home" again next year, and for many years to come.

Wonderful Setting For Family Reunion

My extended family (3 generations) and I rented all 3 houses for our family reunion. We grew up in Michigan and now live all over the country and had not all been back to the "Mitten" together in nearly 40 years! The property was wonderful. The main home was very large with plenty of room for a group of 12-20+. The bedrooms were huge, kitchen large, fun fire pit, great porches, huge basement with pool table - ping pong - etc.; a family friendly house. The cottage and the beach house were great additions and give you lots of ways to divide up families as needed and sleep 6 people each if needed. The cottage was very quite, while the beach house had wonderful view of the lake and an extra kitchen for use down by the lake. As for the lake; Lake Huron is very pretty. The water was very clean and clear, the beach was nice. Kayaking was a blast. Watching the freighter go by in the distance was fun. Best of all Sam, the rental agent was great to work with. Very professional and accommodating. Overall we could not have asked for a nicer location for the money.

Perfect family reunion vacation house

Our family of 32 rented all three properties and have a ball the big house has ample accommodation for 24 although the configuration of beds in some rooms might result in you using all the beds - we comfortably slept 16 adults and four babies in the big house but left beds for 8 unused. We didn't have enough age appropriate folks to use all the bunk beds which sleep 9 . But at the very affordable rates we fit everyone's needs by renting all three properties. The big house is spacious and the lower level games room is well equipped with games to entertain everyone. The TV room has lots of toys for little children which was a bonus for our younger family members who traveled in from out of state and could not bring many toys for toddlers. Sam,the property manager was welcoming and attentive - we had hot weather and he came out to help us adjust the air as needed. In addition to the house the grounds are spacious and well equipped with lawn chairs, grills and fire pits and of course the beach is awesome. We used the kayaks daily and brought our own 8 person inflatable which we also used daily on the beautifully clean and inviting Lake Huron. Overall a fantastic vacation and a great location

Great place for a family getaway

We stayed here for a family reunion and enjoyed the amenities this house has to offer. Kids enjoyed the basement full of air hockey, pool, and ping pong. Adults enjoyed visiting on the back deck with beautiful views of the lake. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and lake for swimming. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook and prepare meals and there was a nice pantry area for storage. Bedrooms were plentiful giving everyone space to spread out a bit. While this place was a perfect backdrop for our family reunion there were some things to be mindful of when considering to rent the space. The beach area is rocky and hard to get in and out of the water. Not an area I would consider great for swimming. The rooms and seating is plenty however there is not a great gathering area for the whole group to come together. The kitchen is probably the best place for the that to happen but not for just visiting. The house has a vast eclectic collection of ships and decor lots of it at arms reach for small children. It is off a busy highway thankfully the house is in a bit from the road. Just some things to consider when booking. The host was great to communicate and respond quickly. Very friendly too.

Our 2nd Visit Was Even Better

This is our second visit to the property as a multi-family group. For the 2nd year in a row the house delivered the practical space and relaxing beach access we had come to expect. They have massively upgraded the primary kitchen/dining room to the point that all repeat visitors pointed out the awe. This year the weather was a bit worse one day so we utilized the basement rec room/game room. Wow, did we miss out using that last year. As always, Sam the property manager was easy to communicate with and responsive. I noticed that they had improved a few items that I'd suggested were missing in our last stay. - The WIFI is FAST now, I mean really FAST 200MB+ - That WIFI fixed the previous TV issue completely I think the only suggestion I had for Sam was to consider blackout curtains in the lake facing bedroom windows because that sunrise is something else! Overall, you'll find the place to be older but improving year over year. There just aren't many large homes that can comfortably fit multiple family units and this place delivers. Brandon

House with plenty of room and privacy!

This house was awesome!!! Pictures did not do it justice by any means!! We were here for our 6th annual family reunion/vacation. Each year we try a different place to go. This was our 1st year with VRBO. There were a total of 27 of us: 14 adults, 3 teenagers, 10 kids. Mom (grandma) rented all 3 properties. I must say based on the pictures, we were a bit hesitant as to what the sleeping arrangements would be or what to really expect. Well, once we arrived we were ecstatic! PLENTY of room to sleep and have privacy. The bunk room was a hit with the kids. Large kitchen with 2 large tables, enough room to move around while cooking. A large supply of games, books and movies. The furniture and appliances were as nice as can be. You absolutely felt as though you were guests in someone's home. Beautifully decorated and furnished. When upstairs, you couldn't hear the noise and activities of the main floor. The game room/basement was also well furnished and comfy, equipped with a full bath, wet bar and wine fridge, pool table, Foosball table, ping-pong table and sitting area. Like I mentioned before, pictures did not do this place justice! It was great. Spent most days on the beach which was well equipped with chairs and toys. Used the downstairs of the beach house as our central location since it had a kitchen, bath and eating area and access to the beach. Because this was our 1st time with VRBO, I (my mother) had many questions and concerns which translates to many emails and phone calls, luckily for me I had the pleasure of working with Sam. He was an absolutely wonderful, patient man!! Always just a phone call or text away, from the moment of inquiry until our arrival back home. Yes, I received a text hoping we all arrived home safely from our vacation!! He is wonderful!! Thank you again for a most memorable vacation! PS. Perfect location into both towns of Lexington (11miles down the road) and Port Sanilac (1.5 miles).

Great for a family reunion

This property was great for a family reunion. Each adult couple had their own room and bathroom and the 5 “kids” had the bunk room with their own bathroom. The big kitchen was great for preparing large meals. There was enough seating in the dining/kitchen area for our group of 16. The ping pong table in the basement got a lot of use as did the fire pit. The lake shore isn’t as “beachy” as some wanted but is great for the rock hounds. Sam met us at check in to give a walk through of the property and was very responsive to the slight issues we had.

Great Week at the Lake

The property is beautiful and huge. This is our first time coming to the Lake Huron side of Michigan and it was fantastic. The water is crystal clear when there is not a storm (even out to 10-15 feet deep), refreshing in temperature but even our 2&3 year olds were swimming in it. The sand is not as nice as Lake Michiganbut it was more than adequate for buidling sand castles, you just need shoes to walk distances on the beach with the number of rocks. The house has every cooking utensil, toy, game that you can imagine and there are three kayaks that come with the property. We brought our bikes but while an adult could get a great ride in on the road with the wide shoulder, we did not feel comfortable even with the wide shoulder due to the speed of the cars going by. This isn't negative, just want others to know in case you are considering bringing bikes. Sam, the property manager was excellent and was available for any need that we had.

We really enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! Please head every pot and pan and kitchen utensil you would ever need which is great for us because we cook a lot. We loved the kayaks and we’re lucky enough to have a beautiful day to use them. We did not use the basement but I’m very excited about it if we come in the future and have a rainy day.Since we had to 22 months old we were excited to see all the toys and have a great cozy family room for them to play in.
