GREAT MOUNTAIN CABIN WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH —Quiet,Quiet, Quiet.
Just 25 miles from the northern entrance into Yosemite National Park, (an hour's drive to Yosemite valley) you will find yourself in our fully furnished home that is the perfect get away. It has an unobstructed view of a lovely 100 acre meadow and is in Stanislaus National forest. If you are looking for solitude, sunshiny days and starlet nights in the pines then you will love this home. At 3200 feet we’re just above the snow mark but below the blizzard line. We’re just ½ mile from the nearest grocery store or gas station and 10 minutes (8 miles) from Highway 120. Our vacation property can accommodate 6+ comfortably. It has three bedrooms; master bedroom has a king size adjustable bed and a private full-bath. The second bedroom has two queen beds and share the other full-bath with the third bedroom hosting a queen bed. There is easy access to the house through the garage or the front door. The house is all on one floor. Our setting is very private. There is access to internet if you want to stay connected and a tv in every bedroom and a 65” TV in the spacious living room. The large kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs and has granite throughout. It includes a large Island for cooking or eating and a table that expands to seat eight. There is a gas BBQ grill in the back yard. The hot tub is fabulous for relaxing anytime but especially under the stars at night. It has therapy jets for those tired muscles after a long day of sightseeing and hiking. City of Groveland is near by for those times you don’t want to cook but rather enjoy eating at one of there many restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful, quiet, home and location. Out first trip to Yosemite which we also enjoyed. House is clean and well stocked. Our only glitch was with VRBO, not the host. Host solved the issue quickly.
Stayed for almost a week and drove into Yosemite every day for great summer fun. Great place to come back to with a full kitchen, AC, dishwasher, washer and dryer, all great for a family with a kid or kids like ours.
Great place, happy for our toddler and parents alike. Big kitchen made cooking easy. Place was very clean. Communication with Doug was excellent and very speedy to reply.
Great house, Great location, quiet and peaceful. Great neighbor too. PG&E was having a power outage the next day and he told us to let him know if we needed anything. Owner/Property manager were also very accommodating ! Thanks for everything!
The home was just as advertised. Very comfortable and had everything you would need. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub in the evening was fantastic. We spent most of our time hiking in Yosemite which was about 45 minutes away but a beautiful drive. The area is quiet but we found stores and restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend this rental. This is someones home, not a rental property. It is well cared for and maintained. Thank you for sharing.
Great location, good value, well presented property.
A really well presented property, inside and out. Beautiful rural location. We used it as a base for exploring Yosemite and the owner gave us some good advice about when to visit Yosemite (to avoid peak crowds) that proved very useful. A really enjoyable stay.
We had a great time staying in the cabin with the grandparents and the little one. Lots of space and amenities for us to spend quality time en residence.
We had a nice time staying here in this very clean and large house. It was able to accommodate sleeping for all of our guests. There are a lot of places to enjoy the property like the back and front seating areas and hot tub. Note: the garage is converted into an extra room and is not air-conditioned. So if it is very hot outside, you can't sleep in this space.
The pictures do not lie. This place is everything it says it it. Clean, comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen is great. Kirsten and Will couldn't not have been more accommodating. Loved the drive to Yosemite every day and loved coming home!

Perfect winter vacation
We were looking for a quick trip for our kids to play with the snow. We couldn't ask for a better experience. House was very clean and cozy and Doug was extremely helpful. He was very quick to answer all our questions and very helpful to solve our problems (which weren't about the house). Our kids had a great time safely playing with the snow around the house all day and we really enjoyed the comfortable family room with the great fireplace. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Great Stay in the Sierra Foothils
This property, located a few miles east of Coulterville, CA, is an excellently maintained, fully equipped residence on a lovely rural road. All amenities are present, as well as thoughtful additions such as a delightful three person swing and play areas outside. The WiFi worked well and having a very nice market/country store just one half mile away was really appreciated. We used this property as a launching pad to attend a friend's wedding in Yosemite Valley, about an hour and a half away.
It was a great place to stay. Highly Recommended!!

Wonderful home!!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and well stocked. The kids had fun with all of the outdoor games and we all enjoyed the hot tub after a long hike at Yosemite. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to get away from it all.

Perfect Family Vacation Home
We loved our stay in this perfect family vacation home. My only complaint was that we did not stay long enough! The home is well maintained, open and sunny with lots of great amenities for all to enjoy. We loved playing bocce and horseshoes and sitting on the swing. The front lawn was perfect for my morning qi gong practice and meditation. The hot tub was heavenly after a day at Yosemite. The drive to Yosemite Valley was long (1 hour 15 minutes) even in May when there was light traffic but it is a beautiful drive and we did not mind it but it is something to consider when picking a spot to stay. The kitchen and dining area worked out great for our family of 6 adults. I would definitely choose this home again when we return to Yosemite!

Resort like retreat
The house came with so many activities it was like you were staying at your own personal resort. The activities included the fire pit, hot tub, bocce ball, teather ball, ladder ball, horseshoes, and golf clubs. It was the perfect location to relax on days we didn’t feel like taking the drive into Yosemite.

The house is beautiful and family friendly
The house was very big and clean. The house was very well equipped from the kitchen all the way to the restrooms. The location is great for good for visiting Yosemite National Park. The view and location of the house was great and relaxing. In short words the house was perfect and the best part of the house was the camp fire outside.

luxurious and close to Yosemite
We stayed in Doug and Lori's home for a week during our trip to Yosemite and found that it was the most comfortable place we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. All the amenities provided made the place feel like home. The drive to the valley is roughly an hour. The beds were all comfortable, there were 4 of us and there were plenty of space. The house was extremely clean, organized, and well cared for. We enjoyed grilling out in the yard and made several delicious meals that way. The wifi was fast considering how far away we were from everything. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Doug and Lori but they left a very detailed instruction book with all the information we needed and even recommendations of things to do. We followed their tip to go to Rainbow Pool and so glad that we did. We would stay here again in a heartbeat when we go back to Yosemite.

Wonderful Place to stay for Yosemite Visit
This place is very well done and has everything you need. The Owners are very helpful and give you lots of extra information to help make your stay better. The house has ample room, the beds are comfortable. The house was clean and the outside of the house is GREAT. Lots of things to do to keep everyone busy and having fun. We loved this place. The only downside is the drive to Yosemite is a bit further than I would like. But, still, this place is a great base. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO homes, this one is up there with the best.

Better than home
Our family stay at Doug's home was perfect. The amenities were soul refreshing. We enjoyed gathering groceries at the local store and cooking in the well supplied kitchen. Every bed was comfortable and playing games in the family room fit all five of us comfortably. While we didn't use the hot tub that was only because we preferred the campfire stories and stars. Sitting out on the swing was a great time to reflect on our hikes in Yosemite...my daughter actually fell asleep on the swing it was so peaceful. Thanks Doug for a great relaxing and comfortable retreat.

About the host
Hosted by Doug Dalton
Lori and I met while we were young and only 17 while attending college up in Idaho. In 2012 Doug and I retired and we purchased this home as our vacation dream home. We love it so much that we enjoy staying here whenever we can. The mountains are beautiful and it is very peaceful here. Lori and I have 5 children and 18 grand children with one on the way. We enjoy camping, traveling, but mostly just doing work around our homes. and visiting with friends.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because we enjoy mountain living without the hustle and bustle of resort areas. Little traffic and yet close to Yosemite and wonderful hiking adventures.
What makes this property unique
Very quiet, small town along the original John Muir trail, enjoy the stars-Yosemite and the nearby historic town of Coulterville. Also near by is the best swimming waterfall anywhere in the Park. Look up Rainbow Pool and realize its only 10 miles from us.
