About this property
Water front, private beach, steps from down town Hoodsport with lots of parking.
Right on the water, high tides brings water right under the deck making it one the closest to the water and unique houses on the canal. 99.9 % 5-star reviews on other sires (we did get one 4.5 because the gas fireplace broke while they were there). With 3 bedrooms (all with king beds, one with additional 2 twin beds), there is plenty of room for 3 couples and a few kids. Excellent WiFi and a separate office to work out of if needed. The 2 bathrooms feature a shower, bathtub, and a hair dryer. Gas fireplace, guitar and vintage Sansui stereo system with a record player (blow your kids away!) in the open concept living room. Large rear bedroom has a king , twin beds , puzzles, games and new big screen for a family/kids room. A different experience for each season. Harlequin and other rare ducks in the winter. Seals year round and occasional Orcas in spring and summer. A very short walk into town gets you to a nice grocery/ hardware/ gas station/ outfitters store, bar, liquor store/ gift shop, restaurants, craft beer brewery, liquor distillery, winery, public dock and curio shops. Pull in, park your car and leave your worries behind! If you decide to venture out, it’s a short drive to two casino’s, Lake Cushman and the famous Hamma Hamma Oyster Company for fresh and prepared seafood. A few other nearby attractions are, the Olympic National Park and Port Townsand. Kayaks, paddle boards and all types of “floaties” are welcome. During the hot summer days, a/c cools the house while the sun heats the large tide land in front of the house. When the tide comes back in water temperatures have reached up to 80 degrees, which makes it very nice for swimming (suggest bringing beach shoes to protect your feet from getting cut by oysters). Sorry no oyster, clam or other shellfish gathering due to tribal regulations and possible red tides that occasionally make it into the canal. Please roam the beach in front of the house and gather a few precious mementos, but leave them outside the house. If brought into the house and forgotten, we will find them by their smell and will gladly send them to you with a bill for fumigating! So, please leave them outside.

About the host
Hosted by Lou Day

Well, the brothers are know the care takers. We are not real estate investors, developers, etc…… we just want to keep the house in the family. We have left a few pieces art, pictures and books to give the house a homey feel (if you have stayed in a “for profit” rental that has bare walls and seems like a cheap hotel room, you understand). We look forward to sharing this unique home that has many precious memories with others.
Why they chose this property
“ The short story”
Our folks were looking for permanent home after selling their live aboard boat of 15-years in Paulsbo, Wa. Our mother walked in the front door and said I want this one! The rest is history. We had a hard time getting Her to ever leave the house from that day on (even all paid, first class, top notch trips to Hawaii?) Her reasoning was why go to some place that she wouldn’t like as much!

What makes this property unique
Front row right on the water! Homey, relaxing, no driving, location, location, location!
