Property was perfect for us. Clean with everything we needed. This is a simple rustic type place, nothing fancy, but like I said: clean, spacious, good kitchen, beds were comfy, hot water for showers. View off the deck was beautiful. Watched a loon one morning while drinking my coffee.
No complaints and would stay again!

Great -Rustic- Location for Baxter State Park
This is a property for those that have stayed in true "camps". In short, the location is everything and the accomodations are Spartan but serviceable. The outdoor deck is a terrific place to relax and take in the views, including the calling loons and ducks. Fish eight off the point in front of the cabin or take a swim in the clear water.
It was our third time at this property. Sadly, the price has almost doubled and the property is starting to show some decline. Still nice and private, still a good stay though
Location, location, location! If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind lakefront, this is the place! Andy’s place was spotlessly clean, and we really enjoyed being directly on the lake! We also really appreciated the privacy, and space from other neighbors, Which you don’t always get in lakefront neighborhoods. And he was super easy to communicate with and quick to respond. We would definitely rent here again!
If you’re okay with a camp style stay, this is it. The view and location was beyond amazing. Literally the listing doesn’t give it justice. If you plan to do Baxter, you’re 20 minutes out which is perfect. House was more than big enough for two of us. Would come back in a heartbeat.
Arrived just in time for a gorgeous sunset.
First full day was a washout because of hurricane Lee, and even lost power at one point. Owner kept me updated on status the whole day, which he certainly didn’t have to do, until power was restored.
The rest of my stay was awesome, including watching two bald eagles fishing from the rocks right off the deck.
Hoping to come back next year!
My kids (14, 12) and I like to have an end-of-summer getaway before school starts. We usually try to get as far from the beaten path as possible and stay in waterfront cabins. This cabin was *perfect* for that!
The highlight for us was definitely being right on the water. We spent most of the time we weren't in or on the water sitting on the deck, listening to the loons, watching eagles perch on the rocks, and just generally soaking in the peace and quiet. It was incredibly relaxing.
The cabin itself was easy to stay in--power, running water, refrigerator etc felt quite luxurious compared with some of the more primitive places we've stayed in past years. If you are looking for a high-end luxury stay this is not the property for you, but if you want to be right on the water with all modern conveniences this place is perfect.
The swimming and fishing were excellent, and it was great to have the dock for our kayaks. I will note that if you are looking for a spot with a deep-water dock appropriate for diving or jumping off, the water was not deep enough for that in the current position of the dock. The bottom is rocky which I prefer greatly to mud/muck/weeds.
Succinct highlights: hungry smallmouths, especially off of the island directly across the lake, loons and eagles galore, lots of privacy from neighbors, the crazy sawdust pile, driving the golden road to Greenville, proximity to Millinocket for shopping.
Katahdin Air were super nice and easy to rent kayaks from!
Every year my wife and I rent a place to stay on the water for our anniversary which falls at the beginning of July. This year we chose the spectacular Millinocket region, which I am very familiar with, and were immediately drawn to this property. We have stayed in fancy homes and rustic camps in the Moosehead region many times. We were looking for a camp on this trip and what a camp this one is! Great location and easily accessible to both the town and area outdoor offerings. This camp sits right on the water’s edge which is very rare these days. I literally fished off the deck and caught many fish. Nice dock and a perfect small swim front. We appreciated the “campi-ness” of the place and felt we had all we needed for our stay at the camp. Owner was responsive and easy to work with. If you are looking for a luxurious lake home with all the amenities and without any Maine camp qualities then this is probably not the one for you, but if you want what the locals have for a camp and the experience that goes with it then don’t miss out. Plenty of hot water for showering and doing dishes and a view that will take your breath away as you sip your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail on the sunny front deck. We are already looking forward to renting this place again several times in the years to come. Thanks for a great summer stay!

Unclean and outdated
I’ll preface my review by saying that the owner did refund me the cleaning fee, and that November is the off season for this area, and it’s a camp - not a hotel.
Pros:
- great location with a beautiful view
Cons:
- was filled with dead and alive house flies when I arrived
- Uncomfortable and noisy bed and pillows
- many light fixtures didn’t work
- outside gazebo/fire place was a mess
This was a great spot. The deck right to the water was so nice. We enjoyed stargazing and paddle boarding. Loved how secluded it was. Will definitely rent again.
The cabin was basic, but clean and as described. The “follow the lobster signs” system for locating the cabin worked easily. It’s really all about the location, which was great.
The property has a view that just won't quit, absolutely beautiful, secluded and quiet. Directions were great, lead us right to the door. This place is rustic, very rustic. No TV, no internet, completely unhooked, which was just fine with us. I contacted the owner about where to put the trash as I could find no bins outside, and was told to leave it in the house, which I wasn't pleased with, but we did of course. I also informed him that 7 of 8 ceiling lights did not work inside (specifically bedrooms and bathroom) and several more outside during the same email, however, he never contacted me back on that issue, or corrected it, so of course, we made do. I did note that a review from a year ago also mentioned the lack of working lights. I don't think, however, that I would consider this property again. If you are looking for rustic, unhooked, quiet, simple, and secluded, this place is for you.
Most relaxing spot, rain or shine. Just sat back, listened to music, enjoyed the view, and took daily walks to keep the dog happy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful location, beautiful views, and lovely Maine nature experience
My family and I stayed at this cute cabin and enjoyed it immensely. The cabin was rustic and not fancy but had everything we needed, including running water, stove for cooking and AMAZING sunrises/sunsets on the deck overlapping the lake. The lake area was a bit rocky so we were glad we brought our water shoes. The inside of cabin was simple yet cleanish, though it could have been cleaned better, including under the beds which had dust and bugs an inch think. The cabin needs some TLC as most of the bulbs in the bedrooms and living area were out. But over all we did not mind that there wasn’t a tv or WiFi. We spent our days just sitting on the deck enjoying the beauty around us. We brought my city pup who has good recall, and he had the BEST time swimming and rolling in the grass. Andy’s property is nicely spaced between houses so you’ve got about five acres or more of free space to let your pup off leash and that was a blast. Getting to the house was easy and we also enjoyed the dirt roads that led to various open spaces in the hopes of catching a glimpse of a moose. All in all a great place to unwind and we would definitely book here again. Andy mentioned he hadn’t been to cabin since May so I would recommend a deep cleaning and fix up of some of the lighting and windows. Andy was also very easy to contact if we had any issues. But overall an amazing experience. Thanks Andy
This camp was perfect for our vacation. There is a large deck that is right on the lake where we spent most of our time. Perfect spot for kayaking and fishing. The inside of the camp looks updated from the pictures online. The camp feels private but is also close enough to town if you need to make a store run. Would definitely recommend this camp. Was easy to find by following the lobster signs. Thank you Andy!
This cabin is clean and convenient, and it situated right on the water with a massive deck and beautiful views. I could not recommend it more. We’ll be back!
