Historic Civil War house, great for family getaways.

This charming Civil War era house first floor apartment is located in historic downtown Gettysburg. The apartment has been restored, with two bedrooms (queen beds), so the house can sleep 4 .The bathroom has a tub with shower. In addition there is a fully fitted kitchen, dining room, reading room, and parlor. There is central a/c throughout. At the rear of the house is a secluded garden and parking.
The apartment is ideal for 4 people You can walk to most of the shops and restaurants. The National Military Park (Battlefield) is two minutes walk away. Paranormal investigators might enjoy their experience here as well!
The second floor has two bedrooms living room dining room and fully equipped kitchen The whole house can be rented for larger families

Great location. Comfortable stay.

We stayed in first floor apartment for three nights. The unit was well equipped. Parking is convenient and the main town square is a short walk away.

Wonderful!

We had a great stay in this beautiful Civil War house. A perfect location and short walk for just about everything, whether it's in town or on the battlefield. The house itself is comfortable, super clean, and full of history, and the stay really couldn't have been better. Highly recommended, thanks so much!

Clean, Comfortable, Great Location!

This property was larger than expected, and super clean. It was by far the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in. The beds are comfortable. The living room and dining room area are very spacious. The location is perfect. We walked pretty much everywhere, except for our tour of the battlefields. There are lots of shops and great dining options all within walking distance. The owner has a binder full of options/suggestions for eating and touring. This was so helpful because we always want to know the locations the locals frequent. We tried many of the suggestions and all were fabulous! This will be our first option when we come back to the area!

this property is everything and MORE. absolutely stunning property. the location couldn’t be any better for all things Gettysburg. The only issue we had was the front door is exceptionally old and difficult to lock. we are planning on coming back and staying again in Spring. love love love would not recommend for small kids as some of the furniture is antique.

Gettysburg

It was exciting to stay at the Stahle house! We enjoyed the beauty of the home and it was immaculately clean. We had no issues or surprises. The only thing is that the listing showed there was a pull out bed and sleeps 6, which ended up only being 2 beds and slept 4. Some of our family had to stay elsewhere, but it was big enough to enjoy a family dinner together. We really enjoyed our time in the home Thank you so much!

Great Centrally Located Home

We had a great experience renting from Tessa. The home was historic, charming, and clean. We were able to have additional family rent out the upstairs unit so we essentially had the whole home to ourselves. The house was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful time walking around exploring the area. We’d love to book again and highly recommend this rental.

Absolutely wonderful!

Everything about this house was exceptional! The house was immaculate, kudos to the housekeeper! The location was great, could easily walk to the shops and restaurants. Loved sitting on the back deck and relaxing both in the morning before a hectic day and again in the evening . Will definately stay there again!

Perfect Location

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was original to the Civil War and was decorated as such. There was plenty of space for just my husband and myself although there was another bedroom. I think it would have gotten dicey with 4 people sharing one bathroom but would have made it work. Great location right in the heart of Gettysburg. Had fun walking around town if not too exhausted after exploring the battlefields all day. Tessa was very responsive when I could not find the blender, she ran one right over 20 minutes later. Very comfortable in the house. Overall, great experience and would recommend to others.

Nice property

I am a herd critic on property and care to the guests. Property was clean and everything was working. For the high extra fees a later checkout would be appropriate and should not be based on convenience of housekeepers schedule ability, but the guest in mind. I would stay here again as the house was very nice as a backup to my preferred place of stay.

Perfect stay!

We spent 4 nights at this property and it was perfect. The place is spacious and after a long day out and about it is great to have a place to stretch out and not be in a hotel room. Very easy to walk to many areas in Gettysburg and a short drive to other areas. We would stay here again for sure!

Fantastic spot close to historic center

Great spot with all the amenities we could ask for. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived, kitchen was well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. A five minute walk brought us to a great selection of restaurants and several historical markers. What more could you ask for! I was a bit worried as some other reviews made it sound like there was a lot of traffic noise. We really didn't notice that. You hear some traffic during the day but it really quieted down at night. This was a midway stop on our trip so we appreciated the chance to wash clothes and put our feet up. The Battlefield visitor center is a 2 minute drive away too! It was a treat to learn the history during the day and then stay in this historical house at night. If those walls could only talk!!

Great Spot

The old time feel of the house is perfect for Gettysburg! The location is right in town. Walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. I will definitely book this location again on my next trip to Gettysburg!

Perfect place for the three of us

My cousin came to visit from Oakland, Calif. We decided to visit Gettysburg, as it had been quite a while since he, and we had been to the battlefield and war memorial. A great visit-- the house was extremely convenient, immaculate, and nicely appointed. Everything was exactly as represented.

Comfy, clean and close to everything

This is my second stay at this property. Unfortunately, I got sick for a good part of my vacation. I am so glad we chose this home, as even though I was sick, I felt comfortable and warm. The owner is considerate and the property is easily accessible. Great place to spend your time in Gettysburg.

Great location.

The property was very nice. Easy check in, very clean and comfortable beds. Great location to walk to shop and eat. Nice clean kitchen. We will definitely be back. The civil war books were a great touch. Our family highly recommends!
