As good as it looks!

We had a wonderful time in Sayulita. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed. The pool was the perfect place to spend our days and evenings. The town itself was rustic and charming. The people were friendly and the food and drinks in town were amazing. Rene was responsive and extremely helpful. We were amazed how clearly you could hear the waves. It just added to the most relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Favorite Vacation Home We've Stayed In!!

We stayed for a week and wish we could've stayed for 4 more! We've stayed in other vacation homes in other destinations and decided this home and the town of Sayulita are by far our favorite! This home is amazing - we wouldn't have changed anything about it. The pool and back patio is absolutely perfect. We can't wait to go back! Everything about the trip was easy. Working with Rebecca was extremely easy, Nelson the Property Manager was amazing and extremely helpful, overall it was a great experience. I've already recommended it to our family and friends. Thank you for a fantastic vacation! Anyone who stays here will not be disappointed! Thanks again and we'll be coming back soon!

November 2021-week stay

Spoiled ourselves a bit for this trip and well worth it. Bring binoculars for the nature show while pool-side. Bit of terror with the first drive down the hill but by day three comfortable heading to town at night in a golf-cart. Host's and Rene's suggestions for eating out were spot-on but also took advantage of kitchen/grill/blender at the casa. The stop at the grocery store with the airport shuttle service helped a lot. Even if you are not an avid birder, a tour with Vidal @ Sayulita Bird watching was a great way to get out and visit some other towns, stop at the roadside vendors and get some local history/perspective. Bit of construction in the area but nothing intrusive. Hope we can stay longer next time

Extraordinary Sunsets

Our daughter and son-in-law gave birth to our first grandchild recently and we chose Sayulita for an early Christmas getaway. While the water temperature of the infinity pool was a tad cold in early December, this home, with its glorious sunsets and daytime cloud patterns did not disappoint. We spent many hours just watching the birds circle overhead and one fun evening when fireworks lit up the town below. But in addition to a beautiful and well-appointed house, our hosts Rebecca and Tom have thought about the little touches, such as providing a golf cart for rent to make travel to town easy and providing purified bottled water. We either cooked at home each night or ran into town for dinners to go. Life was relaxing and easy. A very memorable vacation.

Perfect place to get away!

The photos of the house do not do it justice. The house and its view are stunning. We enjoyed being at the house as much-- if not more than-- being at the beach or in town. A few words of advice to future travelers to this property: (1) coordinate transfer from the airport through Rene, the property manager, rather than hiring private company or taking a cab, and (2) definitely use the golf cart at the house rather than trying to rent your own car or renting a golf cart in town. The house is on a very steep hill with poorly maintained and narrow cobblestone streets, and the house is not easy to find. The golf cart was the most reliable way to get around. I don't think you could get a passenger car without AWD and good clearance safely up or down the hill. Rene and the property owners were very responsive to our questions and made our stay very comfortable. We would love to come back some day.

Amazing Getaway!

Casa Gardenia was a welcomed oasis from a very busy Sayulita during spring break. Rene was so helpful and responsive to all of our needs, including arranging transportation to and from the airport. The pool was clean and very relaxing and the views from all of the rooms are unbeatable. The drive up and down the steep hill on a golf cart was a bit anxiety producing due to lots of construction vehicles going up and down the one lane road and a golf cart without front brakes. Don’t use Safari Maps app or you will get lost, drop a pin in Google Maps until it becomes familiar. Once we got the hang of the road, it was pretty easy to navigate but we still minimized our trips up and down. If you’re looking for a place to easily go to and from the beach multiple times a day, I’d look for something on flatter ground. If not, this is a perfect place to unwind, spend long hours relaxing in the pool, and enjoying a slower pace of life. Thanks to all at Casa Gardenia!

Stunning view!

We just returned from an eight day stay at this beautiful home. Locate in the hills above Sayulita, Casa Gardenia welcomed us with open arms. As we walked in the front doors, we didn’t stop until we were on the pool deck taking in the amazing view! We highly recommend this to anyone looking for perfect peace! Rene, the property manager arranged transportation for us, which was so helpful. Our driver stopped at the Mega so we could buy groceries. Our one regret was not buying for the entire stay. While there are several small grocery stores in Sayulita loaded with fresh vegetables, fruits, and baked goods, meats were hard to find. Make sure to arrange transportation for local trips to town before you arrive. We were unsuccessful at “calling a taxi” - we called, got a “five minutes” response - no one came. Called back. Got another “five minutes” - again no show. Same result the next night. After the no show taxi, we walked to town. Honestly, we did just fine. Im 63 - just took it slow and enjoyed the view. It is very steep, but absolutely doable. This became our nightly norm - walk to dinner - taxi home (that part was easy, lol)! Working with our hosts was just wonderful. Quick responses, always helpful suggestions. And such a beautiful home!

Amazing, beautiful and peaceful retreat!

We had such an amazing time in this comfortable home. The pool and patio we’re a perfect place to have coffee in the morning and a lovely cooling soak after a day of adventures. The hill had some challenges, but we managed a few trips on foot and the taxi drivers were entertaining. There was lots of local wildlife, birds and resident geckos. Rene the property manager was very responsive and helpful. Rebecca was also very wonderful to work with. It was a great trip!

Great stay in Sayilita

Beautiful and peacefully quiet hillside home away from the hustle/bustle of downtown. The pool is center/front of an amazing view overlooking the north end of the playa and south across the bay. Super comfortable beds. We had a few little hiccups that Rene (the property mgr) jumped on right away. He was very attentive and responsive. The only negative I can think of was the very slow wifi, which I think is an issue across Sayulita, so is likely not the fault of the owners. Would definitely stay here again.

Million $$ View

Rebecca I did want to share with you and I’m glad you reached out to me. your place is spectacular it is a dream. It’s the perfect place to have brought my 91-year-old mother since it’s hard for her to move around. the vistas the views are/have been stunning. Your home is well appointed and so very comfortable. We have used a chef recommended by your amazing property manager three times and have been able to appreciate the stunning sunsets. Robby and I do appreciate the people you have working the property. They are lovely, they have been amazing and so very helpful. Thank you so very much for opening your home and allowing strangers to come and visit. Our only fears have been the dang vultures that show up in the afternoon circling about. We worry about our lil Toby but that being said it is nature. Thank you so very much, so grateful for this time. We would stay here again and definitely recommend your place as a special Shangri-La Robby, Silvia, Mom, Toby and Ms Bettie Whyte Inline image Inline image

Mind Blowing Views

This property is amazing. I saw the pictures online but they do not prepare you for what to expect when you walk in. My jaw dropped when I opened the front door and saw the wall to wall ocean view. It’s hot in Mexico in the summer, obviously, so the pool was perfect. I highly recommend being mentally prepared for Mexico in the summer. Embrace the heat while you’re out and about and you’ll be fine. Cool off in the pool and on the patio and retire to your comfy air conditioned bedroom to rest. Highly recommend securing the golf cart in advance. The walk to town would have been too much for me. Renee was wonderful, always available when you need him. We got recommendations for massages at the house and a meal prepared for us in our kitchen and we were so pleased. I would give this property 10 stars if I could. I plan on coming back to Casa Gardenia.

OVER THE TOP!

This is the type of property that you hope no one else finds out about because it gets so tightly booked. If your dates are available, take it. You will not be disappointed. The pictures are very accurate and cannot capture the total privacy this place offers. Great for a couple. As other's mentioned, the walk back from town is a real ball-breaker, and hot. You can always easily get a $5 taxi to get back up the hills, use your car, or rent a golf-cart. They are so steep that our rented Toyota Yaris struggled. Get a jeep. This is nothing about the house, but be aware that the water in Sayulilta is not good. Stick to bottled water and be sure to wash your raw food with soap and purified water as well.

Beautiful location up the hill!

Overall great spot, internet was out at no fault of the owner / property manager but that made it difficult to communicate with the property manager and receive our COVID results. Would’ve loved if the pool was heated, and some extra blankets in the house as well. View and the home were gorgeous overall and it was a great trip! Recommend this home!

Spectacular - Even better than advertised!

Unbelievable setting - the perfect location. LOVED enjoying the bustle of the plaza and town beaches, then picking up (incredibly cheap) fresh produce, fish and other groceries at the local vendors and escaping up Nanzal hill to make yummy dinners and watch the most spectacular sunsets. The layout of the casa was perfect for our party of 2 couples as the bedrooms are located on either side of the living/kitchen space, providing for wonderful privacy. Gorgeous panoramic view from every room. Though we had a rental car and drove ourselves from PVR, we didn't end up using the car while in town as finding parking is nearly impossible. We did drive up to explore some other towns and points North, but we recommend renting a golf cart for your stay as the casa is on an EXTREMELY steep hill (we are all in good physical condition and walking down into town or the beach is not a problem, but walking up is another matter...especially if you have been shopping and are restocking the bar :-). We loved Sayulita Golf Carts SGC, ask for Gaston. He has electric carts with fat tires and engines strong enough to tackle that hill (not all the cart rental companies have vehicles that can), and they let you park your cart at their shop right off the plaza and plug in to charge while you spend your day in town. Best feature of all is the wonderful property management staff led by the charming René. He managed to get a team out on a Sunday to replace the modem when the Wi-Fi was knocked out by a surprise rainstorm, and was available at all times to answer questions via WhatsApp. Took advantage of all his recommendations and were not disappointed. Muchas Gracias Rebecca and Tom for an unforgettable vacation; and thanks for the recommendation for Salsa Night at Don Pedros...it turned out the night we went was a band playing Cuban music, our favorite! The friends we brought with us that we travel with frequently agreed Casa Gardenia is one of the most beautiful accommodations we have every enjoyed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Beautiful Hilltop Getaway

From the moment you walk in, the view and ambiance of the casa takes your breath away. It is close enough to town that a short drive puts you right in the thick of it, but far enough away that you don't feel like all the hub-bub is right outside your door. The house is tastefully furnished with an eye for functionality, simplicity and letting the unique setting and beautiful views take center stage. We stayed there with two couples and the split between the bedrooms was far enough that it still felt like there was some privacy. We did get one day of torrential downpours, which is the only reason I gave the location a 4 instead of a 5 as getting a small rental car up that steep hill during a washout was a little touch and go. But if what you want is breathtaking views, a little privacy near a bustling little downtown and a guaranteed memorable experience, this is the place for you!

Beautiful Casa in Mexico

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home overlooking Sayulita. We wanted privacy and a beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate on our honeymoon and Casa Gardenia was exactly what we wanted. We recommend renting the Jeep to drive up the steep hill and paying for the airport transfer that they provide. We’ve rented our own car before but the transfer service was much more convenient and no difference in cost overall. Took some time to get the TV sound to work properly and could use some upgrades for kitchen equipment - we cook a lot.

Gorgeous house

The house was absolutely amazing. The view is absolutely stunning. We stayed there for 4 nights and 5 days. We decided to rent a golf car due to the steep hills, but it was totally worth it. My only complaint would be that we had a power outage twice during our short stay, although the issue was addressed ASAP, our food did spoil. Also, WiFi was sketchy as would be expected being that far up on a hill. Other then that everything else was wonderful.

Fabulous views from every room! Paradise!

We loved our stay at Casa Gardenia so much! The hosts are amazing. We had perfect and prompt communication. Easily arranged driver to the house, Rene to meet us and give us the keys, etc. Really, the perfect host experience. The house was the perfect size for two couples too. What really takes the cake is the view! You walk around feeling like you're in paradise the entire time! 180 degree views of the ocean from every room! The pictures don't do it justice. The terrace has everything you need to enjoy your time. The kitchen is well-equipt too. You really can't go wrong with this rental. The walk down to town is steep but not hard (15 minutes), challenging to get back up, but a cab will bring you up for $3.50. We ventured to lovely Sayulita most days. We felt very safe and tucked away at Casa Gardenia. Even though there are a few houses near by, we never really saw anyone and felt very private the whole time. Great house. Great vacation. I highly recommend this rental!!

Breathtaking

We absolutely love this home. Mornings with our coffee on the deck looking out over the ocean along with the evening sunsets made the views super spectacular. We were visited one morning with many different kinds of birds in the trees, including parrots, and were able to watch the bats in the trees at night. Sayulita is a very colorful town and we will be back. Thank you again.

Heaven for a Week

What an amazing week we had! The house was incredible, and Rebecca was fantastic to work with. She arranged through her caretaker Rene to have us picked up at the airport, and taken grocery shopping for the week on our way to the house. One less thing to think about and greatly appreciated. We were met at the house by Rene and he showed us around, answered questions about the town and gave us his contact info in case of any problems but we had none. The house is situated high above the town on Nanzal hill, and I highly recommend renting a golf cart or renting the Jeep from Rebecca. We had 3 of the golf cart companies in town not willing to rent to us because of the location of the house however Riviera golf carts said no problem and had the cart at the house when we arrived. It was priceless, and shot up and down the hill effortlessly. The TV in the master was out so we were forced to listen to the waves crashing on the beach below us. Didn't miss it a bit. The house itself has everything you could possibly need. Clean, spacious, comfortable, and sunsets that can't be matched. We've stayed in many VRBO properties, and this is as good as it gets. Love the town, love the house and we'll be back next year. Many Thanks

We were honestly speechless, the views took our breath away! By far, the best choice of any place!

Casa Gardenia over exceeded our expectations, the best panoramic views we’ve ever experienced! We were greeted with flowers and heart shaped petals in our room for our honeymoon❣️ Rene, property manager, couldn’t have been more helpful and Sayulita restaurant recommendations were perfect. We can’t wait to book another stay, or two next year and the next.... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

We are commercial real estate professionals who live in Dallas, Texas and have fallen in love with the charm, weather, culture and views that Sayulita has to offer. Someday we hope to retire and spend many months at Casa Gardenia, but until then, we want to share our dream home with others who love the quaint Mexican Village of Sayulita!

Why they chose this property

After owning a condo in Puerto Vallarta, we discovered the authentic charm of Sayulita. We decided we had to become 'locals', so we purchased a piece of land with a stunning view and spent three years building our dream home.

What makes this property unique

Our casa offers a spacious, open floor plan on one level without having to maneuver up and down countless stairs. Each room in the casa provides a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean. During the warmer months, you remain very comfortable in our entirely A/C casa. Enjoy unique stairwell access with a five minute walk to the north end of the beach, located right next to Casa Gardenia.
