About this property

The Log Cabin | Charming Country Cabin

This is the place to be for a truly quiet, peaceful, away-from-it-all stay. This reconstructed log cabin is set in the middle of acres of beautifully kept fields. It has some trees around it -- and the nearest home is that of the hosts. A porch at the front has a swing to enjoy as you look over the fishing pond. A back porch covers the short walk (about 10 feet) to the small log cabin which is the bathroom. There is a wonderful antique footed tub (no shower) to provide a luxurious soak. (Heat & air, too!!)

The restoration on this log cabin is outstanding with the logs exposed on the interior and exterior walls. The main cabin is a large room with living area and mini kitchen uniquely designed to compliment the antique furnishings. The fireplace is the focal point of the room and can be seen from the loft. Truly a romantic setting! A ladder-type stairway leads to the sleeping loft that holds a double bed and single bed with quilt coverlets and a large old trunk.

The Continental breakfast including pastries from local bakeries is left in your kitchen for you to enjoy whenever you wish. Sitting at the round table with morning coffee and pastries and gazing into the fire or looking out the window at the pond is a relaxing way to start the day. The living room has a queen bed. There is also an antique sofa and TV.

This cabin has been featured in the Hill Country VIEW magazine.

- Please be aware that the house charges an additional $16/extra guest after the first two in the party/night (before tax), so please let us know if the number of people in your group changes after you initially book the stay.

- Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.

Cozy cabin

I really enjoyed the cabin. I loved how peaceful the setting was and to be honest, it wasn't hard to locate. It was close to Main Street and an easy drive. The host was very thoughtful. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars was the height of the bathroom doorway and mirrors. I'm tall and felt a little out of place but honestly it worked out fine. I actually believe it deserves 4.5 stars but I don't have that option.

Nice, quaint and very relaxing

The log cabin is exactly what I needed and was looking for. I wanted to reset and get away from the city for a couple of days. Loved the cows and deer in the field. Loved how clear the night sky was and how many stars you could see. Also this place is still pretty close to Main Street and easy to get to and from. I would say as a taller person I needed to be careful not to bump my head getting in and out of the bathroom, but I guess that can't really be avoided. Overall a good experience. Oh also the host was very thoughtful with making sure that you had some snacks in case you didn't want to drive back to town at night.

Perfect Getaway

My (now) husband and I came here for a short honeymoon getaway! This little house is absolutely a perfect place to be able to sit back and enjoy nature. Cattle, deer, ducks, foxes, you name it! We got up early every morning to enjoy the beautiful sunrise with coffee on the back porch. Firewood provided for the fireplace which we used every night. Pastries delivered daily and the host was the sweetest. I can’t say enough good things about this property. We will100% be back!

The one hour stay

Place smelled , sheets smelled , can’t stand in bathroom if you are 6 ft tall . Firewood needs to be lit with a flame thrower to get wood burning . TV is a antique and screen is very small . Located in a cow pasture. The worst part was how dark it is you can’t read and I was hoping to read 2 books I brought . No view from cabin . We stayed about one hour and drove back home . So much for a nice weekend .

The Log Cabin was amazing. The wildlife and scenery was absolutely beautiful with deer in the fields, duck and baby ducklings on the pond, hummingbirds zooming around and gorgeous sunsets. The host was so sweet leaving pastries and delish homemade nut bread. Highly recommended The Log Cabin.

Wonderful place to stay

The log cabin was perfect. Very peaceful with the cows and the deer grazing close by. Fresh fruit and pastries were delivered every day. I loved the layout on the cabin and wash house. The a/c in the cabin did not work very well so i went and bought a fan so everything was good. Will be going back for sure

The Log Cabin

This is our second time to stay here and it won't be our last. We love that we are in the middle of a cow pasture. The cabin is cozy and quaint. I love sitting on the porch that overlooks a pond while swinging and watching the deer or listening to the cows, moo.At night you can see the stars which you do not get to see when you live in the city. I love this place!!!!!

Quaint little cabin

Enjoyed our get away at this little cabin. I was a bit concerned about the bathroom not being in the cabin, but turned out to be no big deal. Loved the snacks that were left for us.

Fantastic and quiet

We've been there a total of 6 times within a 10 year span. Mrs. Itz personally greets guest's, no amount of money can pay for her hospitality. I'm looking forward to seeing her once again and visiting her log cabin.

A very cute cabin, quiet and isolated. Hinges on cabinets in kitchen and bath need to be replaced, the doors won't stay shut. The loft rug is very dirty and pillows need replacing. Lights in bathroom are very dim.

Log cabin… fireplace … ducks

We had a great time! The directions were easy, and we didn’t really ever need to contact the host. (Who did leave pastries and fruit for us). It nice and quiet, and sleeping with the fireplace in a log cabin was most excellent. (Didn’t want to get out of bed) In the morning looked out the back window and watched ducks on the pond. (I guess I should’ve brought binoculars). Neat place, we would love to stay again sometime.

Quiet

This property is a beautiful cabin, secluded and quiet. Its beautifully maintained and furnished. Keep in mind that if you rent this cabin, you have to go outside to use the restroom or take shower as the "bathhouse" is a few steps from the fro t door. The walkway is covered tho So even when it rains you stay dry. The host brings fresh baked goods in the afternoon for breakfast the next morning. Everything is provided. There was, juice and 2 kinds of milk in the fridge, a Keurig and a selection of coffees and tea and hot chocolate, fresh fruit and a selection of cerial to choose from. We brought supplies and took them all home again as we did not need anything. The only thing that should be kept in mind, and is not in the listing, the cabin is situated within a pasture. Its fenced in, but where you park you, ther is cows roaming free. We had a great weekend.

Log Cabin

Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The log cabin is surrounded by pastures of cows and deer. It was lovely to sit on the back porch swing and watch the sun set in the evenings. Each day fresh pastries are delivered which was a treat. If you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of the town this is the place for you. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The Log Cabin

The cabin was quaint and comfortable. Our hostess was friendly and informative concerning the history of the cabin and surrounding acres. The kitchen was well stocked and the pastries were delicious? As always, your service was excellent. Thank you. However… there was melted / refrozen ice cream in the freezer of the refrigerator that should have been cleaned and was not. Getting in and out of the bathroom was difficult. The door sticks and requires 2 hands to open… in a howling wind and by a small woman. And, the bath tub was sluggish to drain and by the 3rd night it did not drain at all, meaning only one of us could bathe. These issues need to be resolved.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views, the cows, it was all so perfect. The only thing I would improve on is have a little better bath tub stopper! ha.
