Spacious Andalucian Townhouse In The Mountain Village!

Our home, Casa Linnea is a beautifully renovated townhouse located in a quiet street close to the plaza, the shops, bars and restaurants in the friendly white village of Canillas de Albaida.

This elegant and spacious townhouse is approx 150 m2 and it is distributed over several levels with a  large open plan kitchen/dining room, 2 double bedrooms and one bedroom/TV room with 2 single beds.

The house is divided into two parts providing more privacy for family members or the bigger group of people. You will reach the other side of the house through the Andalusian central patio or through the summer kitchen that is situated on the rooftop, between two private roof terraces.

From the two spacious roof terraces, there are views of the Mediterranean, the stunning Axarquia countryside, the mountains and the rooftops of Canillas de Albaida. These two terraces are to place for relaxing, lounging, barbecuing and entertaining with friends and family whilst enjoying the good life in Spain!

Canillas de Albaida is a perfect place to spend some peaceful days and discover the culture and beautiful landscapes and experience a real taste of Spain. With five excellent restaurants, one centred on the pretty plaza, a couple of minutes from our house where you can enjoy the gastronomy of the region. Several local shops are nearby for your daily needs and larger supermarkets are a short drive away.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Canillas de Albaida is its unspoiled traditional ambience. As you wander through its narrow, winding streets, lined with whitewashed houses adorned with vibrant flower pots, you can't help but feel transported back in time. The village has managed to preserve its Moorish heritage, evident in its architecture and layout, creating a timeless atmosphere that exudes tranquillity and authenticity.
The natural park of Sierra Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama start on our doorstep and it offers spectacular scenery with hiking tracks, tracks for mountain biking and scenic drives on many Pueblos Blancos of the Axarquia region to explore. The Axarquia region of Andalucia is great to visit any time of year, spring and autumn being the best for walking in the hills on the many paths and trails.

Long-term stays (over 28 days and max 2 months) inquiries are welcome during the low season Oct-Mar. Please contact the owners for terms and conditions.

Perfekt beliggenhed, ro, idyl og hjemlig charme
Perfekt sted at holde ferie, når man er vild med bjerge, natur, ro og den spanske atmosfære. Her er virkelig plads til afslapning, gode vandreture, hygge ved poolen og lækre spanske restauranter. Huset er meget charmerende med sine mange plan og har alt hvad hjertet begære til en afslappende ferie. Vi kommer meget gerne igen en anden gang.

Smuk bolig i dejlig landsby
Vi havde en dejlig ferie i Casa Linnea i Canillas de Albaida, som er en hyggelig landsby i bjergene i nærheden af Nerja. Det kræver en bil at bo her og en del bjergkørsel, men det tager kun ca. 1 time fra Malaga lufthavn, hvor man også kan leje sin bil. Huset er to traditionelle hjem slået sammen, derfor med et lidt sjovt layout, og udviklet til et smukt hjem, hvor der er tænkt over detaljen og med alt hvad du behøver til at lave mad og vaske tøj. Rejseselskabet bestod af min søn og hans kæreste på 18 år og mig selv på 57 år. Vi brugte terrassen om aftenen til Uno turneringer, og tagterrassen til at se på stjerner og kigge på månen om natten og dase om dagen og de unge var glade for at se film i stuen. I landsbyen besøgte vi de lokale restauranter og ikke mindst den store pool et par skridt fra os, det var helt perfekt, at vi kunne bade og ikke skulle køre til stranden hver dag og vi blev stamkunder på den rigtig gode restaurant Oskars ved poolen. Vi havde valgt at bo her, fordi vi både ville bo i en landsby men også have let adgang til Competa, nabolandsbyen, og til Nerja by og strande og til besøg i Granada, Alhambra og i Malaga. Med andre ord, ro i landsbyen og mulighed for at søge ud når der var behov for det. Vi var glade for at bo her, eneste minus var, at der er mange, meget høje tappe trin i huset og mange etager, og da jeg har slidgigt i begge knæ, var jeg ret udfordret undervejs - så et hus med indbygget workout, men ikke så egnet for gangbesværede. Helt fra start havde jeg en rigtig god og hurtig kommunikation med ejerne, som var utrolig flinke og hjælpsomme og der var sågar bobler og mulighed for at lave sandwich, da vi ankom trætte kl. 21 om aftenen, det var vi rigtig glade for. A really excellent place to stay
We were lucky enough to stay here for three weeks this year. It is a fantastic house. Comfortable, spacious, good WiFi and 2 lovely terraces for eating outside. It is located in a lovely village with friendly people who always say hello😁. If you like hiking the area is wonderful. This is our second time staying in Casa Linea and I have no doubt that we will be back again.

A lovely, quaint and quirky house in a beautiful white-washed village in the hills, away from noise and traffic. Short or long walks through the hills or to neighbouring villages and nice local bars to relax in afterwards.

Traumhafte Wohnung
Wir durften im August 2019 zwei Wochen in einer traumhaften Wohnung verbringen. Liebevoll eingerichtet, super ausgestattet. Kontakt mit Vermietern sehr nett und problemlos. Die Anfahrt ist etwas mühsam, ca. 20km Kurvenstrasse verträgt nicht jeder gut. Man wird aber mit einer traumhaften Ausicht und einem faszinierendem Sternenhimmel belohnt. Etwas missverständlich fanden wir den Ausschreibungstext ' mit Pool/ Gemeinschaftspool'. Es handelt sich um ein öffentliches Schwimmbad mit Eintritt. Es liegt allerdings in unmittelbarer Nähe, ist sehr sauber und nett.

Lovely traditional town house , great for hiking!
The owners were great with communication and gave lots of advice and information on local area via email and always quick to respond to questions. We were fortunate to stay during the Town celebrating its summer holidays with a 3 day Fiesta which included traditional horse ribbon racing , marching band, free Paella cooked by local school, family foam party and disco in the square , live singing and fireworks! The Spanish certainly know how to throw a party! If you want to get some sleep at night during this time (2nd Aug) I recommend taking some ear plugs! The house was very well equipped with everything you could need. It is on many levels with lots of steps up and down and in between rooms and no balustrade on some sections of stairs, however, our 3 year old coped well despite our nerves being a little frayed! We did need to lock the door to the top terrace when kids were up and about as footbridge not safe for young children unless closely supervised , but this was not a problem . The view from this terrace at night was gorgeous and we got to enjoy some wine and gazing at stars when kids were asleep! The house has lovely photos displayed of the surrounding area. We would recommend the walk along the goat trail to Cómpeta. The views are gorgeous. We also enjoyed the local gorge and river walk. The local communal pool was very clean and quiet with cafe / snack bar. Can get pricey if you decide to add in sun beds and parasol and want to visit each day! On arrival it would be worth finding out if there is a week pass you can buy. We drove to 3 beaches during our weeks stay which were recommended but all were a good 40mins in the car. If you enjoy walking and traditional Spain this is a great place to visit . Thanks Pia and Johan

Ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus
Wir merkten sofort, dass das Haus von Pia auch von den Eigentümern bewohnt wird: die Ausstattung mit allem, was man zum Leben braucht, ist vollständig und üppig. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, die Badezimmer sauber und geräumig, die Küche ist modern und insgesamt ist das Haus in einem sehr charmanten, frisch renovierten Zustand. Sommerküche und die beiden Terassen runden den positiven Eindruck nach oben hin ab. Die Kommunikation verlief herzlich, schnell und problemlos. Die Umgebung ist prima zum Urlaub machen, das wird jede wissen die in Andalusien Urlaub macht. In Canillas gibt es zwei kleine Supermärkte für die Einkaüfe des täglichen Bedarfs, fünf Restaurants und ein kleines kommunales Schwimmbad, was für kleines Geld (2€) den ganzen Tag Poolvergnügen bietet (13-21 Uhr). Wir können das Haus allen empfehlen, die ruhig und entspannt in toller Umgebung Urlaub machen wollen; mit Kindern würden wir sagen, sollten sie nicht jünger als sieben, acht Jahre alt sein, sonst sind die Treppen im Haus vielleicht etwas viel Herausforderung im Alltag. Wobei wir fanden, dass das dem Haus noch mehr Charme verleiht. Auf diesem Weg nochmal vielen Dank an Pia und Becky.

Canillas de Albaida is an excellent centre for walking in this beautiful area and Casa Linnea is centrally located in this pretty town. The house is a comfortable place to relax with attractive decor and good facilities.

Excellent house in the hills
We had a great family holiday to Canillas de Albaida in Pia's house. Very spacious house situated on multiple levels captured the essence of the Andalusian town (Just be careful of the stairs with young children or people unstable on their feet) Local amenities were excellent for the family, two great restaurants within 30 seconds walking and a community pool that was cleaner and nicer than many hotels I have stayed in. The locals were very friendly. 20-30min car ride from beach, another 20 mins on there to some great towns and shopping.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been very good at keeping a travelogue, so my memories will be based on foggy memories dating back to 2001. I was born and raised in a working-class in Finland and learned that nothing is given to you for free and you must work hard to accomplish your goals. My goals were always to travel around the world and see what it had in storage for me. But eventually, it was not so much the quality as it was the quantity of these visits. I wanted always see the major cultural and historical parts of the place and ensure that I take the time to get out of the “touristy” areas and explore the real culture and lifestyle of a people. So far I have also lived and worked in three different countries and I am very happy that I have been able to see so much of the other part of the world… but I am not done yet… I hope to be able to live permanently in my dream place  – Andalucia!  Johan: “Originally from the county side of Sweden, Johan now lives in Sigtuna together with Pia, Pia's son Karan and their two cats Skrotis and Sotis. Besides yoga, he loves living an active outdoor life and has spent a lot of time running, hiking and mountain biking. Why they chose this property

We chose to buy this property after seeking 5 years. During our search and after endless trips we became very familiar with the Axcarquía area (The eastern part of Malaga province). We fell in love with the mountains of Sierras of Tejada, Almijara and Alhama and the villages beside them. It takes just 30 minutes for us to drop our feet into the sea. Driving up to our house (mountain road) takes my breath away each time, no matter how many times we have done it!

We hope you do too!  Canillas de Albaida offers unique access to nature – a fantastic way to experience our countryside, whether you are hiking, jogging, bicycling or riding. The town is surrounded by breathtaking Nature Parks and mountains, only 25 minutes drive from the lovely beaches and 50 minutes from Malaga airport.
