Perfect Memories
Our family stay at Lemon Lake Lodge was just what we were looking for. After being regulars with spending summers in the Durango area (Dolores) this spot on the reservoir was just perfect. The views were incredible, the space for our family couldn't have been better and the fact we were only 25 minutes from Durango made everything convenient. Mr. Singleton was excellent in his support and communication during our stay making our trip wonderful! We will be back.

Family reunion
This is a charming lodge with plenty of space for our group of 15. Upon arriving the children were drawn to the many hummingbirds at the deck feeders. Wild life included osprey, golden eagles, and deer. Kids had a great time fishing, playing in the lake., canoeing and hiking on nearby trails. Day excursions included the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train and Mesa Verde. A great place to come and enjoy nature.

Great experience
The perfect rustic cabin with excellent amenities. This is a great place to relax with a large group, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. Great deck, fireplace, outdoor gas grill, and fire pit. Convenient location close to plenty of back country hiking and fishing. Easily the most well stocked rental property I’ve ever stayed in. Everything we needed, and then some, was available. WiFi was better than expected as several were able to do Zoom calls when work got in the way. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful property!

We were delighted with this property! Better stocked than anywhere else we’ve ever stayed—toilet paper, games, first aid kit, spices, all the basics for cooking, nice big yard for kids to play in, etc.

Great Place for Family Retreat
Lemon Lake is everything one expects when going to Colorado! Beautiful lake, open spaces, wildlife. The house was perfect for multiple families - lots of room, two kitchens and living areas. A bit of a drive to Durango (38 min) but no one minded because there was so much to do there - hiking, fishing, and kayaks. We enjoyed the many hummingbirds that fed on our porch. Everyone really enjoyed our vacation.

Large house, for large families
The property is set on the edge of the forest, rustic, and perfect for large families, wanting to get away from their busy, electronic filled lives. We had 8 adults, an 18 year old, 14 year old, an 11 year old, and 2, 9 year olds, we enjoyed fishing at Lemon Lake on numerous occasions, caught a ton of Rainbow trout, we rode our bicycles, went for nature walks, drove up into the forest, discovered numerous deer and even spotted a black bear about a half mile away,. Our ages were from 77 years old down to 9 years old, we had a blast. We played games at night, and the front porch was perfect for early morning coffee, or evening relaxing. The house has cozy beds, 5 bathrooms, a loft where the kids, can hang out and sleep. I have nothing but wonderful memories from this trip, the house is what made it so wonderful and cozy for all of us, not cramped at all, the house is equipped with everything you will need to make meals and barbeque too. There are 2 televisions with sat, to watch, if needed. Best trip ever, we will come back to reserve this house again, Sean and Steve were so very helpful. Thanks for letting us use your house to make wonderful family memories Sincerely John Otero

Wonderful for large families.
The most beautiful view from the lodge! All the children had so much fun in the lake and we loved how close it was. The house had enough room for all 16 of us. Although some missed the wi-fi others of us were glad we didn't have it. The home could use some updating but we still had a wonderful time. A very enjoyable week! Thanks for sharing your lodge with us!

great place for large family of 12
Plenty of space in and outside. Inside two big tables for eating and playing games. Porch outside great and big yard area for kids to play. Lemon Lake across street great for fishing and kids water play. Water pretty cool but the kids did not care. Take rafts or floats. Lots of people out on canoes or kayak. Hugh lake. House in area for hiking or road to go up top 11 miles on UTVs right from house Only thing no Wifi and no cell if you have ATT. Some for Verizon and you are about 25 minutes from town. They Do have a house phone for someone to call you. If you like mountains and away from everyone this is your place. 👍

Great view from the living room and kitchen table. Friendly.
It is about 30 minutes east of Durango. Higher elevation. Lemon Lake was up so it was right across the gravel road. Owner or caretaker allowed us to use their boat and a couple of fishing poles. Views from the living room and kitchen table are stunning. Views from the upstairs bedrooms are good too. Kitchen is plain but has everything you need. Nice to have a washer and dryer. Nice large table to have family meals. Nice having 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms for 14 people. We never ran out of hot water and the water is HOT. The beds were pretty comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms were warm but had fans to stir the air. (We were there on a hot week in Durango.) The lowest level was much cooler. The lodge could use some updating, sealing around windows and efficient doors. Has room in the front yard for games including their corn hole game. Have an area for a bonfire out back with plenty of firewood. The lodge is a good value. Nothing fancy but we felt comfortable in it. We made lots of memories and had a great time! Thank you Sue and Jody. We had a great family vacation.

Great place to spend Christmas with Family.
Thank you Sue & John for allowing our family to stay at our awesome property. Let me first start off saying WOW, this was such an amazing place to stay simple beautiful. We had a family of about 15 people, and everyone slept comfortably with plenty of room. Jodi & Steve on site went above and beyond to make our stay at LemonLake Lodge a great one. Since our stay was over the Christmas holiday 2015, there was a real live Christmas tree that was neatly decorated and smelt wonderful. Plus they even decorated the elk with a Santa hat, and hung stockings by the fireplace. So if you have small children this was such a hit with our little ones. The kids could play outside in the snow or in the game room, so many options for them to choose. This was such a blessing for my family to be able to stay under one roof at LemonLake Lodge, we definitely will be back again.

Great place for a large gathering in the great outdoors.
What a great place. We had a large group and everyone loved it for a different reason. The kids were free to play inside or out, even play in the lake. Fisherman were in heaven. Hikers had lots of options. It was great all the way around. Sue and John were very friendly and helpful. I would love to go back.

Perfect Family Reunion!
Rustic and tranquil, my family of 12 met there from all over the country. Fabulous wild life, trails to explore everywhere, fire-pit for marshmallow roasting, and a perfect place to joyfully reconnect with loved ones. Lots of room to spread out for 12+, so you can be together, and have some quite alone time too. We all loved it, and plan to do it again soon!

Tranquility, Amazing Beauty, and Personalize Attention by Owners
I was in awe of the beauty this lodge is surrounded by. Peaceful yet full of nature to explore and see!. John and Sue do an outstanding job at providing personalize attention to their guests, providing a very comfortable atmosphere making you feel right at home at their lodge. This was an amazing experience for me, a “city gal”, and I can see how anyone could find this as a wonderful adventure and retreat. Make sure you plan your stay for at least 3 days to take in as much of this experience as you can!

Little slice of Heaven
we so enoyed our stay at LemonLake Lodge,it is very spacious with warm welcoming owners on site. The great room has a stone fireplace with over stuffed leather chairs and sofas, you can dine with a fabulous view of the mountain range right out your window. The sleeping accommodation was very comfortable, several bedrooms were available one as a junior suite with its own television and sofa. When I vacation in the mountains and want to be comfortable, this is where I would return to. The beauty of the area and wildlife brings you close to nature with all of the comforts!

We are a family run business serving families and groups of people from all over the country and we are very happy to share our beautiful Lodge and views with you.

Why they chose this property

The Location of the Lodge itself is on a remote mountain lake with spectacular views where you can truly get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and enjoy the quiet of the wilderness broken by the occasional coyote howling in the distance. At night we have very little light pollution up here on the Lake and star gazing is a favorite past time. If you have a telescope and are looking for a great location to star gaze while on vacation this is a great place located at an elevation of 8,300 feet.
The location to the Lake is wonderful and a short walk to the mouth of the Florida River where it empties into Lemon Lake. This is the honey spot for trout fishing.
No need to travel to the forest because you’re right in the middle of the San Juan Forest with your own private access to the Forest from Lemon Lake Lodge property. Just walking out the door from the Lodge is a door opening into the wilderness. From there all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other and you're in prime wilderness and at times you may feel like you’re footsteps are the very first footsteps ever on your path.
We are located near two major trail heads for hiking and horse/mule pack trails. The trails are very well maintained and offer all levels of experience to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

No neighbors that you can see from the Lodge. It is total un-obscured wilderness and mountain lake views
