Do Not Rent This Home

We did not enjoy our stay in this rental at all. As a matter of fact, we left after less than one week. The house is very tired and old. When we arrived, the house smelled musty, possibly moldy, and although we opened windows, and later turned on the air conditioning, the smell never quite left. The furniture is quite old. Sitting on the sofa is practically sitting on the floor. Except for the master bed, the beds were not comfortable, and the pull out sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, and uneven. The other beds didn't align when we pushed them together. The old dining room chairs have plastic covers! Carpeting throughout does not look or feel clean. Hot water was very limited. The shower in the master is extremely small. Not only did we have to bring our trash to the landfill, but there were no (required) trash bags, and we had to purchase them. We had to move things in the garage to fit our bicycle inside. and it was very difficult to get to the washer and dryer which were also in the garage. We were not able to stay in this rental - not even for the first full week. We left after 4 days. The owner returned our second week. but not our security damage deposit although he has no reason to keep it!. We want to alert other potential renters that they can do better!

Charming House

We rented this house for a week at the end of August for part our bridal party to stay in when we were married at Bedell Cellars, which is just around the corner. The place is simple and very good value for somewhere to stay in the area being a short walk to the main Nassau Point beach, great backyard and a short drive to all the great things the North Fork has to offer. Bob was very easy and clear to deal with and provided us with everything we needed for the week.

Fantastic family vacation

We had an absolutely lovely time at Broadwater's Cove. The place is just as described -- spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Nice large backyard that gets lots of sun but also plenty of shade. Perfect location a short walk or bike ride from the beach but also a close drive to the wineries and restaurants of the North Fork. There were few people on the beach even at the height of the summer vacation season, which was unexpected and very welcome. Highly recommend this place for families or, really, anyone else!

Lovely place in a quiet neighborhood

A very pleasant house on the North Fork of LI around Cutchogue, center of the eastern LI wine growing region. 1/2 mile from the beach. We were here during the July 4th week and a local, rather wealthy nearby resident, sponsors a July 4th fireworks display by the Grucci's. Just walk to the neighborhood marina or 1/2 mile to the beach. Great area of young children to ride bikes and go swimming.

Nostalgia of the Higest Order

I grew up down the street from this rental, and was friends with the owner as a teen-ager. Perhaps it is my appreciation for the originality of mid-century ranch homes that made this the perfect rental for me and my family. Getting them exposed to all of the fun things I got to do in the summer as a kid was priceless. Broadwaters Cove was just the nicest area to grow up in. The town beach a mile away is one of the absolute highlights for any visitors. The central air (not common to homes of that era) would likely make those used to hotel life quite happy.

Peaceful and Quiet

We rented for 5 days over Memorial Day weekend. It was quiet and relaxing! We walked around the neighborhood, went to the beach, BBQ'd, and enjoyed ourselves very much. The house reminded me of a home my parents used to own in Orient in the 70s -- same style and look. I felt right at home! Excellent value and the owner is quite friendly and helpful. With all of the rental properties increasing in cost on the North Fork, this home is a great way to spend a week or weekend without breaking the bank.

Broadwater's Cove, Quiet & lovely

We rented for a week for a family reunion and it worked out beautifully. The area is quiet and traffic free, so the kids could ride their bikes safely. There's a neighborhood marina where you can watch the egrets and cormorants or put in your canoe or kayak. The Peconic bay beach is only a short walk. Also, there's another local marina on the way to the beach where you can rent paddle boats. We're probably going to go back next year.

North Fork, Cutchogue

My family and I rented this house for 9 days. We had a great time. The North Fork is a great area to explore. The house is near wineries, beaches and not too far from The Hamptons and Shelter Island. The property itself is comfortable and clean! It is not fancy and is a bit of a time capsule from the late sixties, but that was part of the charm for us. Plus, all of that is reflected in the rental price of the house. The backyard is beautiful and there is an excellent grill. The owner was very responsive and made sure our stay was problem free. I plan on renting this property again in the future.

Purchased the family summer house, which we've had since 1967. Willing to share for a few months during the summer season, though spring and fall are equally attractive here!

Why they chose this property

Spent my summers here all through my youth, enjoying beaching, sailing, windsurfing and water skiing on Peconic Bay. Learned to swim at the Nassau Point Causeway Beach, then lifguarded there years later! Many summer memories were made over the years. Passes to all Cutchogue/New Suffolk and Southold Town (many) beaches on Peconic Bay and Long Island Sound.
