Neighborhood overview:
The Lincolnville Historic District neighborhood is a friendly and welcoming residential community filled with charming architecture and personalities. You will find that the neighborhood is diverse with many interesting people of various backgrounds, and that they care about their community. There are several active and welcoming churches in the Lincolnville Historic District, one of which can be seen from the front of the cottage, so close that you can clearly hear the choir on Sunday from the porch. There are four (4) restaurants in the Lincolnville Historic District- The Blue Hen; the Ice Plant Bar; The Preserved; and Crave Food Truck. Lincolnville was a victim of redlining by the Federal Government and the private sector, the evidence of which still exists to this day. I encourage anyone who is not familiar with the practice of redlining to probe the subject. Bear in mind that St. Augustine is over 450 years old, and every neighborhood in Downtown St. Augustine has buildings that are in disrepair and could use a bit of work, including Lincolnville. If you don't wish see buildings that are architecturally contributing while perhaps in need of a little or a lot of work, then Lincolnville, or other neighborhoods Downtown, may not be the correct fit for you. Lincolnville in particular is experiencing a period of revitalization, so don't allow the derelict architecturally contributing buildings deter you from the rich history that the neighborhood and Downtown have to offer.

I live close to my rental property, and am available 24/7 to respond to any issues or concerns.

As your host, you can expect that I will NOT come onto the property unannounced. The only exception could be when I pull the trash and recycling carts to the street for collection. Trash is collected on Tuesday, and recycling on Friday. Usually I contact guests before I pull the carts, but sometimes I forget. Trash carts live in the side of the front yard.

If I need to do something such as cut the grass, water the plants, or retrieve something from the storage shed, I will contact the guest in advance. I don't wish to cause a disturbance, so if another time is better for you just let me know.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE:
Guest will NOT be given a list of chores to complete at check-out. Simply lock the door and leave. Host prefers to take care of everything.

Great location, great private deck and front porch

Loved the cute, vaulted-ceiling house in historic neighborhood. Appreciate that it's not a cookie-cutter, suburban neighborhood, but one where "regular" people live. A few blocks from oldest house in St Augustine and a walkable lake. Thanks, Blake, for contributing to the vitality of the neighborhood. Very spacious. Would stay again.

Historic Gem

For one's first visit to St. Augustine, this is the place to feel like you are part of the historic district. One can walk easily to the top attractions as well as to restaurants--leaving the car parked. The accommodations were very comfortable.

Wonderful house and location

Blake is a wonderful host. The photos don’t do the place justice. It feels far more spacious than the photos or square footage would indicate. We honeymooned here and it was perfect for us. Great for strolling about and cycling around the neighborhood and town, quiet and safe. Thank you!

Great location, quiet neighborhood

We had a great stay, 3 adults and 3 kids. Perfect amount of space for what we needed. Location was great and didn’t take long to walk to the historic district at all. There was an awesome brewery a block or two away and the owners and staff were great. The house is super cute and very comfortable. We would 100% stay again. We appreciated everything available to us.

Convenient to town

Clean and roomy enough inside. Functional but not new or stylish furniture. Neighborhood is not as desirable as some but I'm sure the price makes up for most of that. The wreck of a house next door is creepy but I think the owner is of this unit now owns it and will take care of it. Easy walk to downtown of under 10 minutes.

2 Days in St. Augustine

What a charming home, with lots of thought put into the upgrades. My husband, my brother and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay here. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us, and the location made it easy to get to everything we wanted to see. As a bonus, the hop on hop off trolley has a stop just a couple of blocks or so away. Our host was very responsive, and it was super easy to check in and out. My brother had never stayed in a Vrbo before, and he is now a convert! Thanks, Blake, for hosting our wonderful stay in historic St. Augustine. Now I just need my drink from the Fountain of Youth to start kicking in . . . .

Great stay for night of lights

Blake was great at communicating throughout the process. House was very clean and inviting. We could walk to everything! Highly recommend this as a place to stay. Parts of the neighborhood could use some TLC but overall felt safe even for our girls only trip, the street was surprisingly quiet. Would stay here again.

Girls Trip to St. Augustine

Went on a Girls trip to St. Augustine and found this hidden gem. Blake is a great host and definitely responds quickly to questions. Our plane was delayed and didn't get in until after 1:30 am - Blake left the porch light and interior lights on for us.The location of the house is great - within walking distance of Flagler College and a trolley stop within 5 minutes. The neighborhood is an older neighborhood that is being gentrified. Parking on street was easy. Didn't need the car during our trip as we stayed within old town and used the Trolley on our first day - walked the rest. The home itself is comfortable. Note that you will need to bring coffee and tea if you have a particular kind you like.Overall a great home to stay in.

About the host

Host profile image
Grew up on a farm in Charlottesville, Virginia. Graduated from Flagler College in 2012. I'm a full-time host who lives close to my rental.

Why they chose this property

I purchased and rehabilitated the house in 2009 while attending Flagler College, where I lived until 2015 when I converted the house to a vacation rental. My dad helped me rehabilitate the house and add the finishing touches. I literally love the house, as I don't plan to ever sell it, but rather pass it to my son Felix.

What makes this property unique

I'm available 24/7.
