ABSOLUTELY NO CATS OR DOGS. The owners are allergic.
At 4700 sq. ft., it offers:
- an expansive great room with large wood beams
- a dining room that easily seats 10+
- a gourmet kitchen with a 48" top rated Blue Star range, warming drawer and a baking station
- large den for TV viewing
- gas fireplace in the great room and in the lower level
The deck off the dining room/kitchen is a large wood and stone area directly facing Grand Teton. It is a fantastic place to sit outside, relax, converse, or listen to the myriad of birds sing. Adjacent to the deck is a hot tub seating six or 7. If it's not frigid, you can talk to guests using the hot tub from the kitchen window. Enjoy watching fox, deer, moose and other wildlife that frequently visit the property, or simply take in the seasonal wildflowers!
The main level of the house is on the second floor (first if you're British) in order to take advantage of the better views higher altitude provides. You enter in the family room and then proceed upstairs to the main level.
The master bedroom (with a King Sleep Number Bed and all premium bedding) is located on the main level adjacent to the great room. The master bathroom features double sinks, a bubble jet tub and large shower with body spray jets. From the french doors in the bedroom, you walk out onto a covered balcony where you can enjoy an early morning coffee or an afternoon aperitif while gazing at the western valley and mountain range.
The decor in the home is comfortable and eclectic with many antiques and mementos of travels abroad - We served primarily throughout Africa and the Middle East with a tour in Turkey and Pakistan as well.. The owners will be happy to share the 'provenance' of the furnishings from around the world. This is not your standard western decor.
The lower level has a huge family room/den the size of the great room, suitable for TV viewing (the great room has no TV) and playing games around a desk. There is a bedroom suite consisting of two bedrooms with vanities. Both rooms connect to the toilet/shower via what is known as a jack and jill arrangement in the United States. A third bedroom has a private en suite bathroom with a tub/shower. It has A KING BED and a sofa. Note that the bedrooms all have SOUNDPROOF DRYWALL to muffle sounds and provide a higher level of serenity and privacy.
The 'upper room' is spacious with his and hers recliners, a queen Murphy bed in the middle of a wall of built in bookcases and drawers, and a closet. There is also a large desk, making this perhaps the best space in the house for a home office set up. It has no attached bath. The window in this room, while it faces east and thus has no view of the Tetons, does afford frequent views of wildlife, wildflowers during the summer, and the sled run our children and grandchildren build out back each winter.
A crib, high chair, baby locks, baby gates, changing pads, baby monitor and sound machine are available for those traveling with infants or small children. Speaking of child safety, all tall furniture has been secured to the wall.
