About this property

Creek and Ocean Estate - Spacious Living Space - Stay close to Nature

Bring your kayak and enjoy the creek and ocean! Connar creek runs through the property with fresh water and once you cross it, you can go all the way to the ocean. (currently no other means to cross the creek unless you bring your own boat or kayak)
The main house in Creek and Ocean Estate and Cabins has a spacious living space, dining space that seats 6, functional kitchen with granite counter tops and much more!
Both of the bedrooms have queen size beds with Daloyi Hotel Prime 100% cotton sheets which will guarantee a good night's sleep.
We do NOT allow pets as our kids are allergic. Please leave your furry friends at home. You will be asked to vacate the property immediately if you brought along pets without our written consent.

Some additional notes regarding the house

1) We have keyless entry and can accommodate late check ins.
2) Due to the age of the house, there is no outlet in the bathroom. The nearest is outside the bathroom in the hallway.
3) This is our vacation home and we do our best to keep it clean. However, it is not a hotel and due to its age, it does come with a few baggages.
*Our water is from our well and it tastes great, but it tends to have more minerals and make it hard to keep the faucet sparkling clean due to the build up.
**We had a purple bathtub which we decided to keep and painted it white to go with the rest of the bathroom. The paint job by our contractor was poor and it started to flake. We are looking for another solution but in the meanwhile, it was not pretty. If you care dearly about having a bath tub for a bubble bath, this house is NOT for you.
*** We have regular pest control but since we are in the middle of nature, that means we have more nature friends than a house in the city.
We understand this is not a house for everyone and want to make sure you know what you are getting into before you book. We do stay there ourselves and love the time but that doesn't mean it's right for you depending on your expectation.

Everything about the house was as described even the purple tub, which was lovely. Our family enjoyed not just the house and their surrounding areas with the forest, but also going into town watching the sunset on the beach. I’m much needed vacation and just time together thank you for your home it was beautiful.

Nice Area
Nice area and quiet. Enjoyed our stay. Should probably cover the 2 ft deep 2 ft wide hole in grass next to the driveway so nobody breaks a leg. Walking the property we almost fell in it.

This house is spacious, short drive to beach, quiet area, and easily found. Huge yard for kids to run. Nice being able to cook, do laundry or sit and relax.

Awesome!
Property manager was very informative well before our stay, the house had a very homey feeling. We had all the utensils we needed to make meals, the yard had tons of space. We couldn't find the trail to the creek but overall an awesome place to stay

Ocean City, Washington is a small hamlet 2 miles north of Ocean Shotes, Washington. Nice and quiet.
House in a rural area with a lot of lawn, woods, trees and wildlife. It had been raining a lot the week before we arrived and the front yard was very wet. It would be a good place for kids and dogs later in the summer when the front lawn dries out. The main house is older, but some new upgrades to the kitchen, bedrooms, living room and a car port to get your car out of the weather makes for a nice place to stay. The entire place sits on about 2 acres of land with a deep woods along the west side of the property. You are 1 mile from an access road that takes you to a beach. If you want entertainment, there is a Quinault Indian Casino about 4 miles away. Ocean Shores has a lot of restaurants and family friendly businesses you can browse through. There is a multiplex movie theater in Ocean Shores also and a sports bar for those interested in keeping up with the latest sporting events. Frogs serenade you to sleep at night. Great place for the nature lover.

Property was as advertised.
The grounds and laundry are shared with the vacation rental trailer home behind the house. The 3 renters in it used the washer and dryer a lot to dry out thier clothes. It's pretty quiet but if sharing is not your thing then this property is probably not for you. We had an enjoyable stay and would recommend it.

Enjoyed our stay. Mostly clean with the exception some random unidentifiable wall smudge that we wiped down and a cockroach crawled out of the toaster. Great comfy beds and large area to run around around the house

Great stay at this quiet spot with great woods to explore
Stayed here with my family and we all had a great time. Nice and quiet, back from the road. We saw other guest staying in the other rentals on the property but had no issues and very little interaction. Our kids loved the DVD's here and all wanted to sleep in the living room. We also spent hours exploring the woods behind the rental and looking for frogs and other critters. Communication with the owner was fantastic and the listed description did not disappoint. Will visit again.

What we needed and as listed.
I had read the reviews and was a little worried, but we had pretty low expectations. The creek was black water that looked like you wouldn't want to get it on you at all. Also, the house is right in front of a trailer that someone lives in, so there was really no privacy. We also had to trade off on the "bad" mattress in the smaller bedroom. Messaged for early check in, and only got back a form email, messaged again and didn't hear back until the day after we checked in. Other than that, it had everything we needed, location was good, place was pretty nice on the inside. Would stay here again.

Good location for activities
We enjoyed the many activities around the location. We have a few recommendations: bring an extension cord with a power strip for the bathroom as there isn’t an outlet in there. Consider what things you will need for the kitchen, it is minimally stocked. Also BE AWRE: The listing states “sleeps six” but the price is for four and you are charged if you have 2 more individuals in your party. The creek area was accessible but we didn’t kayak there, because there didn’t seem to be enough information about the creek, for safety of our wee one we went kayaking in Ocean Shores on the canals instead. The home has some unlevel floors and was a bit musty in the laundry area, but has plenty of working windows. It has many nice decorative updates and met our needs well.

Overall enjoyable, but plumbing needs work.
After reading some of the previous fairly negative reviews of this property I was expecting the worst, but our stay actually turned out to be quite good. The house is roomy and while it started a bit chilly, the wood-burning fireplace did a great job warming the place up. The only issue we had was with the plumbing - except for the bathtub, every single drain in the house drained very slowly. I suspect this was due to previous guests' clam cleaning adventures. This didn't end up being a huge issue for us, but it did mean that we couldn't really clean any dishes in the sink in the kitchen. Host was very responsive though so points for that. Overall a decent place.

Great place to stay. We were gone majority of the day times. I work in the fire service and have a motto “leave it better than you found it”. Took a few minutes to fix a couple plumbing flaws in bathroom to prevent any issues. Also, when using the baseboards in the living room, highly recommended to pull clear the windows drapes. Overall it worked great for my family and the location was excellent for daily adventures in any direction. Barnes Family

Terribly cold, drafty and smells like mold
This is the absolute worst VRBO I have ever stayed in. It smells like mold and made me feel sick within a few hours. Headache, itchy eyes, sinus and lung issues. It was overwhelmingly disappointing after a 3-day drive. There is minimal heat, the doors and windows are drafty and the house would not warm up without the 2 additional space heaters we had to buy. There is almost no lighting in the living space. The bathroom is disgusting, with peeling paint off the tub and rusty fixtures. Warm-up in the shower? Nope, not much hot water so get to clean and get out. The modern faucets either shoot you in the lap with water or trickle it all over the countertop. The kitchen looks nice, the faucet was not actually attached to the counter. The "trail" outback is completely overgrown so bring a machete. The only saving grace is that it 'might' be a decent beach house in the summer.

Perfect location for playing at the beach and clamming! We'll definitely put this home at the top of our list for clamming season. Plenty of room to run and play for kiddos, easy highway access and plenty of parking. The home is also decorated nicely.

I will start off by saying the beds were very comfortably. Sat on the couch and found some ones Vape pipe, floors had food on them and they are so uneven it is crazy. the shower/tub was so dirty. I have photos and would like to send them to you and you tell me if you wanted to take a shower in it. One would think that there would be coffee filters for the coffee maker but no. Lighting could be better in living room so you could read a your book. There is a nice sized yard and a few outside chairs would be nice to enjoy the yard . This place could be a gold mind with a bit of effort put into it. I think you should ask for some updated pics of the house.

Not as it appeared online
When I arrived, based on the VRBO pictures, I thought I was at the wrong address. The concrete porch and steps are not standard with unusually high and uneven risers and very narrow treads and no rails. My sister planned to visit but the stairs, with their substandard construction, would have been far too dangerous for her. I am a frequent visitor to the area and have stayed many places here. The quality of lodging in the area is generally poor and over priced. This house was close to town but quiet, out of any hubbub and more reasonably priced. The arrival, instructions and communication (when I lost the entry code) were very good. As were towels, linens, and kitchen appliances and equipment. A very nice TV with ROKU and more viewing options than any hotels I’ve stayed in at Ocean Shores. The home itself was not dirty but windows and bathroom chrome were smudgy and dirty. The carport posts are rotted through. I had planned to soak in the tub. However, the tub had been coated at some point and the coating was peeled off in large flakes leaving what seemed like sharp shards of the coating that had not been removed and the old lavender tub showing through. There was a powdery residue in the tub, perhaps of cleanser. This property had an odd combo of nice touches (like granite counters) and shoddy conditions like the tears on sofa and hassock upholstery. It is a shoes off house with cold plank flooring so bring your slippers. It felt like an abandoned property from a spooky story. There are other buildings on the property that were overgrown with blackberries and moss. There was an abandoned pool with green algae water in it. So, it felt uncomfortable. Perhaps this was enhanced by what sounded and felt like two explosions nearby that shook the house. I called and reported these to 911. But everything worked and the bed was very comfortable. So I slept well, enjoyed the ROKU and it worked okay enough. This property will go on my do not rent list.
