Amazing experience

Our experience was amazing. We had such a good time and had PLENTY of blankets, towels, and pillows. It has so much room and the views are amazing. The only complaint we have is the parking is kind of awkward!

Quiet cabin, secluded

This property was great, our group had an awesome time. The family room was a great size for board games without being crowded. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The property manager was very nice, helpful. The rooms were large and our 5 adults and 6 kids slept comfortably. Kitchen was nice and the provided utensils/cookware covered everything we needed. We loved the views and all the trees surrounding the property. Lots of good things to say about this property, we feel we got a great value for our stay.

Needs some maintenance

The home is well stocked with pots and pans. We ran a little short on towels, as we could not find enough for each person in our party to have one. If you have a lot of people and are staying for the week like we did, you will need to bring extra toilet paper and paper towels. The couches all need to be replaced, the pool table is in need of new felt. We ended up driving to the closest Walmart and bought a pool stick just to be able to play as they were all broken. We were able to shoot pool and play ping pong while we were there after we purchased our own pool stick. Hot tub was clean and useable and the "hot tub" guy stopped in 1 day while we were there to check on it and refresh chemicals. Water pressure in lower level bathrooms left something to be desired and we noted water stains in lower level as well. To be honest, the worse part of this cabin is the access to get to the cabin through the snow. You are not able to park in the driveway unless you have 4x4. To get down to the door from the driveway was horrible. We had to treck through knee high snow up and down the hill. There was a place that may have been a path, but every person that stepped on it fell down. We had to lower my elderly father down the hill on a sled to get to the door which we tied a rope on because he could not just slide down. Fortunately I have innovative brothers that went out the next day and carved steps into the snow/ice so we had an easier time getting up and down the hill to our vehicles. Wood is not provided, which I expected, however there is a boiler that keeps the cabin very warm. You can purchase wood in town if you want. If you are coming in the winter, make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle or bring chains. We slid down the hill when we arrived and got stuck. Most neighbors flew past us while giving us dirty looks but we finally had a couple of people pull over and helped get us unstuck. We could not get good cell service to call anyone to assist us. I was able to text the manager, who is nice and gave me the number of a towing company but we could not call them. We received multiple threats from neighbors that they would have our vehicles towed for parking off the road, but not in the driveway and we were pulled completely off the road.

Family Christmas Getaway

Stayed here on a family Christmas vacation. Although we loved the private and secluded location of the home with fantastic views of the mountains, the home definitely lacked personal care and upkeep by the homeowner. The main floor was nice and allowed us to enjoy time all together in a cozy setting but it was very dark due to a number of primary light bulbs being burned out. We felt this minor upkeep detail was overlooked by the homeowner. The lower level (basement) definitely needed some upkeep and improvements. The bathrooms were dirty and were in subpar condition. The water pressure in one of the bathrooms was so poor water just dripped out of the sink faucet rendering it virtually unusable. The home has promise but appears to lack necessary care. Probably the biggest improvement needed is the entrance to the house area from the parking area. This is a very steep hill that became quite treacherous to walk down. Some type of steps would definitely solve this. Overall we were disappointed in the home.

Needs some TLC/Updating

We have stayed in numerous cabins in Colorado and this one ranks the lowest but was the most expensive. The location and interior space that Bearview provided was great, but the cleaniness, lack of "promised" supplies, old and worn out linens/towels, lack of coffee cups, and pots and pans was very disappointing. The wood burning stove kept the cabin warm but upon our arrival there was NO FIREWOOD so we had to make the trek into town to purchase. The lower level was very run down with water stains on the ceiling, mold on the grout in the showers, dirty hot tub, flat matresses, old/worn furniture and mouse traps laying around. This cozy cabin has so much potential, but needs major updates! On a postive note...the manager was very responsive and friendly!

Amazing location!

We had an amazing time at the cabin! Hiking around Montgomery Reservoir and up to Wheeler Lake was spectacular and the fishing was great as well. A few of us even bagged a couple 14ers! Definitely recommend this spot!

I can't say enough good things!

Absolutely incredible property nestled into the woods just down from the top of Hoosier Pass. It was the perfect spot for a group get together. Plenty of good beds, lots of open space, and the deck out the back alone is worth booking this cabin. The house has pretty much everything and if you need anything the small town of Alma is just a 5-10 minute drive down the pass and there is a general store / liquor store. Couldn't find the password for the Wifi so emailed the contact and they got back to us about an hour later. I really can't say enough good things about the property and our experience.

Great view, slept a good size group comfortably!

The cabin had exactly what we needed for a guys weekend fishing getaway. Would definitely stay there again. Needs some updating but other than that it was a great place!

Incredible stay for our first time in Denver!

It was all of our first time in Denver and we were beyond excited to experience it together in this giant cabin. This cabin was perfect for our group of friends. It had enough beds, baths, and living room space to play games. We loved using the pool table, ping pong table, and hot tub. The cabin also had enough parking space for us. The drive to Breckenridge Ski Resort was only 25 minutes away. We would definitely rent this cabin again if we came back.

Great

The place was very spacious, we had plenty of room for our 10person group. The location was close to all the ski resorts. The views surrounding the house are amazing and the added amenities like hot tub and pool table/ping pong made for a wonderful evening after hitting the slopes all day. I would definitely stay there again!

Disappointing

This house has a lot of potential, unfortunately the owner doesn't feel motivated to realize it. The pullout in the basement is non-existent. The carpets, particularly in the downstairs bedroom, have gross stains all over them. The basics were clean, but a lot of things with dust and dirt that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Kitchen poorly equipped - can opener bent and doesn't work, pots don't have lids, terrible knives, etc. The porch was covered with snow and the stairs hardened with ice despite his pre-confirmation that he would clear it. To make it worse, the snow shovel he said would be there wasn't, so we had to go buy one and spend 2 hours shoveling. The worst part of it all is that the owner himself confirmed there was a pullout, a snow shovel, that the deck would be shoveled, and that there was a well equipped kitchen with all of the basics before I went. When I expressed my concerns during the weekend his suggestion was for me to drive 30 minutes to Fairplay to buy a shovel and some air mattresses. I explained all of this after the fact and he offered me $50 of a refund after I was over $200 out of pocket plus hours of time. Pretty terrible service overall that leaves a bad taste. I would not recommend this house - this is the worst and only bad experience I've ever had staying in a rental home.
