Great location centrally located for Estes Park, Pikes Peak, Denver, and close to Boulder. Hosts were amazing and provided updates routinely during our stay. Beautiful view of the mountains, a private patio to enjoy breakfast on, and anything we could possibly need at our fingertips. Thank you Donna & Michael!

Great little place to lay my head
I stayed at this property when I went on a solo hiking trip to Colorado. It was perfect for a clean, comfortable place to lay my head. I was gone all day and home in the evening to rest and gear up for the next day. The home is in a beautiful location and was quiet and clean.

Peaceful
Donna, the owner, was easy to communicate with. The property sits nearly atop Sugarloaf Mtn and was peaceful and quiet. Lodging was comfortable, not super spacious, but a great place to lay your head and clean up, just what we needed

Really nice stay
But you may want to reconsider all of the instructional signing. Some was necessary, but most of it wasn’t, and made us feel unwelcome, as if we were invading your personal space.

Beautiful property and responsive, kind hosts
The location is perfect for a stay in the mountains. I went on several beautiful hikes with varying lengths/difficulty. It is very close to Boulder and Nederland, giving two very different city/town vibes. I recommend the Boulder Falls and Rainbow Lakes trails (there is a rough road leading to the trail head, so be prepared for that). Donna and Michael were very responsive and kind hosts. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice spot for views and hiking
We enjoyed easy access to Boulder, Nederland, and Estes Park. Lots of hiking trails available close by with the bonus of Sugar Loaf Mtn views. Denver is also reasonably accessible. Our room was cozy and included the necessities. Owner was responsive and easy to work with. My only request would be access to more towels and washcloths during our multiple night stay.

Sugarloaf Mountain
The best location for exploring the mountains and hiking all while a short drive from Boulder! We didn’t spend much time there but if we had the room may of felt a little small, there’s a large living room right next to it that you don’t get access to. Just a heads up if you plan on staying at the house for long periods of time, if not it’s perfect. And super comfortable!!

Peaceful Getaway
Donna was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The hikes she suggested and the visit to Nederland were spot on. The room was the perfect size for the two of us, and the outdoor seating area provided great views. The coffee maker and refrigerator made snacking easy, and the bed was very comfortable. It was my first visit to Colorado, and her home was a central location to Nederland, Boulder, and other hikes. I highly recommend Donna’s place!

Not exactly Boulder
If your looking for a fun casual relaxed stay near boulder keep looking. This place is very well equipped, clean & has gorgeous views. However, it’s fsr from boulder, comes with massive restrictions/ rules you don’t get until day Of check in that came as quite a disappointing surprise. The driveway is not accessible to guests so you will have to haul luggage down a gravel walkway and steps.

Could be a Great Place to Stay
There are some definite good things about this place: the view, the room is comfy (good thing that it's in the basement, because there is no air conditioning), location (close enough to Boulder), and there is a coffee maker (except no decaf). There are just a few things that could make this a great place to stay. Some of the reviews mentioned Donna's rules. The rules are pretty basic. Like - Take your shoes off. These are rules most would want others to follow at their house, so it makes sense here. One rule that I did not understand was, "Don't use the family room." When you enter the basement area, there is a family room, the bedroom, and the bathroom. We're told to only use the bathroom and bedroom. I guess we would have been okay with not using it if the Roku worked in the bedroom. The network is not enough to have us using it and the home owners using it. We tried to watch a movie. It kept freezing so we only got to watch about 10 minutes of it. Then it just refused to work. The family room has a TV that has a DVD player. We could have maybe watched a movie that way. We had had a full day hiking, exploring, and just wanted to watch a movie and relax. You can't get "regular" TV on the TV, so we couldn't watch anything. It was only the Roku which requires bandwidth. There is no air conditioning, so if it's warm, bring your own fan. There was a small fan attached to the dresser, so we couldn't move it near the one window in the room. It did help circulate the air a little bit, but it would have been nice to have one available. Now, chances of it being that warm anytime soon is rare. It just happened to be the week where it was 103 in Colorado. Fortunately, it wasn't that up at the VRBO. It was still warm at times. Would we stay here again? Probably not. But if the things I mentioned don't bother you, then this is the place to stay. Donna was very responsive to the VRBO app. We met Michael once, and he advised us about hiking Sugarloaf Mountain. Seemed very nice. They provided very nice robes and some welcome treats. The biggest issue was the bandwidth. If that was solved, this place could be great!
