About this property

Welcome to Sweets Point, a Secluded Heritage Cottage on the shore of Bobs Lake, Ontario

My cottage consists of three bedrooms, one on the main floor and two on the upper floor. It has a work-in kitchen, a diningroom/living room area, a bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. There is a stone fireplace. The front porch is screened-in and faces the lake. My cottage is 10" from the water's edge. There are six single beds plus a futon in the livingroom.

My cottage is outfitted with everything you need, except food, potable water, personal toiletry items, and personal bedding.

A 12' Peterborough row boat with oars and 3 vests come with my cottage. We have a Weber Charcoal Barbeque for your use.

The water level gradually and slowly becomes deep so that there is plenty of room to swim with no seaweed.

There is a sandy beach depending on when the water level on the lake is lowered.

There is a small wooden dock for docking the row boat.
My property is on the shore of Bobs Lake. Bobs Lake is in Maberly, Ontario. My property is located at the end of a dirt road. If you decide to rent from me, I will send you detailed directions to my cottage.

Pros and Cons to this place

There are good things and not so good things about this place. I'll start with the cons because they can be deal breakers for some. Cons: 1- The mobile data is spotty at best. If you are looking for a place where you can easily access your data, this is not the place for you. 2- The beds. These mattresses are old and very uncomfortable. If you have a bad back, these beds will not help. We ended up leaving the cottage early because of the quality of the beds. My husband actually put his back out. The Pros 1- The location is great! the cottage is feet from the water and in a very quiet area. 2- The water was warm and clear. We were able to swim on a few different days. You can go in on one side where there is a little sandy beach, but there are a few weeds, but nothing much. on the other side, there is a slightly rockier side that you kind of have to climb down, but once in the water, the rocks turn to sand and there are very few weeds. 3- The Cottage itself: it is an older cottage. That being said, there is running water and kitchen and bathroom, so not that rustic. Other points: We were told to bring our bedding which I am totally fine with and is expected. When I have rented cottages before however, there are blankets available, but in this case there were none. Luckily it was not super cold that first night and we were able to go out and get a few blankets the next day. Overall, if the mattresses were new, this would be a really good place, but in our case, because of back issues, sadly, we would not got back to this cottage.

6/10 Okay

Rustic cottage with 100% privacy.

If you want privacy, boating, fishing and swimming this cottage is for you. If you want all the comforts and conveniences of home, then it is somewhat lacking in this area.
