Westside Paso Robles Four Lanterns Winery Farmhouse
Four Lanterns Winery Farmhouse is the quintessential charming winery farmhouse, located on the winery property off 46 west in the heart of westside Paso Robles wine country. The house was renovated in 2013, with its historic features left intact. It is an ideal rental for two families or three couples with a pool in the back and an outdoor Santa Maria Grill. The house has two private bedrooms downstairs that share a full bathroom. There is a small bedroom nook at the base of the stairs leading to the upstairs loft with a queen bed and two twins. There is a full bathroom upstairs as well. Their is an additional half bath off the kitchen.
The property boasts 35 acres, 25 of which are planted vines. The winery's tasting barn is a short walk from the house, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a nice lawn. Walking trails are on the property with a beautiful 360 view of the area from the plateau on top of the vineyard hill. The venue is ideal for events or just a comfortable relaxing afternoon of lunch and wine tasting. In the summer, Sunday free afternoon/evening concerts are scheduled at the winery and accompanied by a food truck.

3 empty nester couples enjoying Paso Robles. The backyard and pool are nice to hang out and visit. Home is beautifully appointed with antiques and quilts on beds. Kitchen is adequate, good parking, central location to downtown and wineries.
Only complaint was the gardiners starting blowers to maintain rhe large property at 7 am - 8:30 on Saturday morning
This house was perfect for our group of friends and a few kids. It’s spacious, functional and well stocked—tons of towels, good kitchen assortment, lots of games. It is an old house so there’s some quirkiness to it but it was comfy and totally fit our needs. The upstairs gets quite warm if you don’t employ AC on a hot day (though the downstairs stayed impressively cool) and I might recommend bringing your own drinking water. They thoughtfully provide a Brita but even that doesn’t help much with the mineral taste.
Hosts were exceptionally kind and responsive. It was fun to have the winery grounds to wander in the morning and evenings. Though the house is quite close to the winery, there was also a good sense of privacy when using the pool or hanging out on the porch. We really enjoyed our stay here, felt like a great find!
We had a lovely time in this farmhouse which has old world charm in a beautiful setting. We appreciated it the owners allowing our dogs, and we took great care to leave the place as we found it.
We had a few issues with things needing repairs, and cleanliness not up to par (thus the 3 stars on that question) with dishes that were less than clean, screens torn and leaky fixtures. There is a high level of calcium in the water, so that explained some of the spots on the glasses, but still was not acceptable. However, the owners were very attentive, and did their best to help resolve these issues.
I would definitely recommend this home.
There are many beautiful wineries within walking distance! Go and enjoy!
Great little farmhouse with enough to fit our 7 two-family crew. Great pool aside the winery with great wine and awesome proximity to downtown Paso and tons of other vineyards. Easy checkin and check out. Laid back, clean and beautiful property.
This house was cute and had a real classy old feel to it. Jackie was great getting back to us when we had questions. We never could get the wifi to work though. Not a big deal as that wasn’t necessary for our visit, just a bummer for the teens. Tasting at Four Lanterns was wonderful and the staff were super sweet. The bed my husband and I shared could definitely use replacing. It was a queen bed and slightly folded in the middle so we didn’t sleep well. Noisy being near the highway at times. Some kitchen items could be updated but wouldn’t have been noticed had we not cooked a couple meals there. Overall it really is a great place for the family. Our kids had their own little quarters upstairs and really enjoy the pool. Recommended for families and friends.
The property is beautiful and it is conveniently near everything. There was no TV in the house which we had not noticed when booking but actually ended up being a plus as we played games with the kids. The only thing I would change is the plastic feeling cheap sheets on the master bed.
Jackie and Steve have such a magical property. We sincerely enjoyed our time. We can’t wait to come back!

Great location
We had a wonderful reunion with friends and loved the location of the property. We had enough beds and the house was clean with nice decor. The owner Jackie was super helpful and attentive. She was right on-site at the winery and brought us a shade pop up when we needed it. Our biggest complaints are not knowing the pool would have a massive algae bloom and the tap is undrinkable. When we arrived we were only told the pool was cold and asked if we brought bottles of water. We hope these two issues can either get resolved or guests are given a heads up ahead of time because we would love to stay here again!
This was the perfect place to gather as a family to celebrate my son graduating from Cal Poly. Nothing fancy, just a warm inviting house on a working vineyard. Perfect for us.
The Four Lanterns Winery vacation rental and property are just beautiful. The house is nicely appointed. Our group of five friends spent each evening in the house cooking and playing board games. We took an evening walk on the property and it was charming with Adirondack chairs and tables underneath shaded trees. There were lawn games and garden statues and fountains- really darling.
The house was nicely furnished and decorated AND spacious. The top floor is a large open space with its own bathroom and it has a queen size bed and two twin beds and a sitting area. The first floor has two big bedrooms with a queen size and king size bed and a small alcove with a double bed.
We had a wonderful time and Jackie was responsive to our questions. Definitely look forward to returning to Four Lanterns Winery in the future.
The property and location were great. Our party was 2 families with 4 adults and 3 teenagers. We really enjoyed being at a winery and having the whole farmhouse to ourselves. It is a great setup for one family downstairs and another upstairs. The house was well furnished with dishes, pans, toiletries, etc. and is nicely decorated. The pool was great, but still cold in April (it isn't heated). We enjoyed visiting the winery for a tasting (thanks Mary K!) and roaming the property. While we we there, a herd of sheep was temporarily on-site to eat the weeds, which added to our experience. We got to meet Jackie and she was very friendly and helpful.
We only had a couple minor complaints. The tap water tastes bad and needs to be filtered for drinking. A filtered tap is installed in the kitchen, but it was not working. Jackie was aware and I'm sure it will be remedied quickly, but we had to buy our own drinking water.
Also, it was a little noisy at night. It is next to a highway out in the country, so the cars are going 55+ mph. Not the owner's fault, but it may helpful to know if you're expecting quiet. The vineyard fans also kicked on at night to keep the vines warm - it sounded like a helicopter - but I guess that's part of staying on a working vineyard. However, the gardeners also started working with lawn mowers and leaf blowers one morning around 6:30-7am. I don't know if that was abnormal, but that should be delayed until later in the morning
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at the Four Lanterns and we all would like to come back to visit again
Really nice opportunity to have a different background during COVID...spacious home with plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable. Pool was perfect during the hot summer days.
Location is perfect if you want to do some wine tasting and also get out to the coast.
Other than the very hard water (which was good to know about before we arrived), there’s nothing to complain about.
Beautiful & Gorgeous Property, Could Use a Bit of TLC for the Price Per Night
We had an amazing time. The pool, house, location, and grounds were so lovely. Jackie & Steve were friendly & helpful.
My family and kids had a great time. We needed a break, and to sit in the sun and relax while also being able to work for the week.
For the luxury price point per night we encountered a few things that made us feel like our expectations were not met. The outside patio did not have a shade structure, and it gets HOT. So that is something that made sitting and working out there impossible during the day. The dishwasher was pretty much unusable, as it made the dishes dirtier than when they went in. We ended up having to handwash everything, which was sort of a drag with a bunch of kids & cooking. Some general upkeep and a little TLC will sort all of this out. Overall, a great location and a great trip, a few bumps along the way-but we loved our stay and would definitely return!
We had the most amazing week at the Four Lanterns Winery. Jackie and Steve were great, friendly and knowledgeable hosts. The house was perfect for our two families with school age kids. The photos don't do it justice for the layout of the house. The upstairs loft area can be closed off from the main floor so that the kids could sleep without the adults waking them up at night. The easy access to the winery was amazing. 30 min drive to Avila Beach and amazing mountain biking, and beautiful runs through the rolling hills among the vineyard. As soon as we left the kids were asking to go back!

Perfect Paso Get Away!
Charming cottage on the Four Lanterns Winery property. We had two families with several kids and were very comfortable. Jackie was an outstanding host. The private pool was a great way to cool off in the afternoon sun! This cottage is in a perfect location with several wineries within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Jackie!!!

About the host
Hosted by Jackie Gleason
Jackie and Steve are living the Paso dream! With backgrounds in healthcare and finance, owning and operating a winery & VRBO is the perfect challenge now that 3 out of 4 of their daughters are off to college.
Why they chose this property
Why not this property? When the opportunity presented itself to own a vineyard with a tasting room AND the cutest little yellow house in the middle of wine country, they'd have been crazy to turn this down.
What makes this property unique
Location, location, location! With warm days and cool nights on the west side of Paso, it's a beautiful property with a stellar winery attached to it. It's a short uber ride to the downtown fine dining scene, the perfect launching point for the day's wine tasting adventures, and such a relaxing place to come home to at the end of the day!
