We enjoyed our stay. We all loved the paddle boat.
All enjoyed the Kayak's and beach.
Nice slow traffic street and quiet neighborhood.
Parks were close by.
I stay in Wellston a couple of times each summer and this home is now my favorite. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable living room seating and deck. The house is across the street from the lake and beach which I loved. Waking up to the fog on the lake was so peaceful and I could walk my dog around the lake multiple times a day. If you love the north woods, this home is for you.
Property was exactly what we needed for our last minute ski trip to Caberfae. The mountain was only a 15-20 minute drive from the location. Being able to bring out dog was a bonus. Communication was easy. We even considered skiing Sunday morning before heading back and asked for a late check out so the dog had a place to be warm before we left. Our host had zero issues with this, even though we changed our minds in the morning. Great experience, would definitely book again.
The place was as advertised. Perfect spot for a small family to be able to stay comfortably. Neighbors welcomed us and were friendly, which is nice because the places are close together. Lots of water activities right across the street and many other things to do within a short distance in all directions. Would recommended to family and friends to stay here. Thanks for being great hosts and allowing us to “move in” for a few days!
We loved our stay! Sarah was awesome. House was clean with tons of extras for the whole family. It was so nice to be able to let kiddos play on the swings and beach and still keep an eye on them. Perfect for families. I'm hoping we can get the time off to stay again!
It’s just a nice little house on a public swimming lake. The host provided every amenity you could want, Kureig machine was a plus! Even had cups. Bring cream and sugar. You must provide tolietries and food but it was lovely and well worth the money. Nothing fancy and everything you need to cook meals. Don’t expect it to be but inside it’s quaint and cute. We just loved it and spent most of our time there. Treat it as your own but be respectful and clean up after yourself. Five stars from us.
We had a great Vacation at this home. They had everything we needed except food which is normal. The beach is across the street, about a 2 minute walk from the house. They even had firewood in the shed, which we didn’t realize until we bought our own cuz we didn’t think to check first LOL! We left our leftover firewood for the next guests and a couple things in the fridge and cupboards :)
Our stay in Wellston was wonderful! The access to temperature control was a necessity for us since we have an infant, so the upgrades to the property were very useful. The cabin had all of the kitchen appliances and utensils plus more as well as the bedrooms and bathroom. If you need extra space for storage there is plenty in the basement as well. The lake (and small beach) were right across the street with the nearby Dublin store only a few minutes away to get any forgotten items. The store is also a jerky lovers dream.
The house was great for our needs. Very clean and neat. Simple but well-appointed. We came in the winter so didn’t use many of the provided supplies but looks like it would be great for summer too. Nice storage for gear which was great.
My only complaint was that the walk and entry weren’t cleared of approximately 8” of snow so initial entry into the home was challenging. We shoveled off the porch and stairs ourselves and it was great after that.
We would love to stay again.
We stayed here as our base to fish the Manistee River. Everything was very clean and it worked great for us. The driveway is plenty long to park a few cars and a boat. Having a basement to store a few extra items was helpful too.

Weekend Stay
It was a fine place to stay for a short weekend. Park across the street was nice to allow our dog to run/use the bathroom. Water does have the sulfur smell as mentioned in previous posts. House was mostly clean - shower curtain liner could be replaced. Close to Manistee for places to eat out and hiking trails. Overall, fair place to stay.
This place was perfect for our family reunion, with family staying in several cabins in the area. The view from the porch looking over the lake was great. The amenities for enjoying the lake were a plus. The cabin had everything that was needed to make the stay comfortable.
From the moment we got to the property, it felt super home-ish! As I was unpacking our car, I was met by some of the friendliest neighbors who gave us great information about the house and area! The cottage was super cute, I love the lake cottage feel throughout the house! The queen bed was super soft and great to lay in! We enjoyed the chairs and table on the deck, especially in the morning when we were drinking our coffee! The view of the lake was beautiful from the deck, we wish we would have had more time to spend there! We were only here for a quick 2 night stay for our North Country half marathon, so I wish we could have had some fun on the lake! This place would be great for a family with kids, as they would love the bunk beds! I definitely recommend this place, especially for people with kids, there is so much for them to do! Also, the neighbors were awesome, they helped make the experience even better!!
This property was perfect for my family of 4. It was small, but had everything we needed. The lake was a very short walk across the street and was not packed full of people which was nice. We used the 2 kayaks and paddle boat that were included with the property and made great memories.
Super clean well stocked house. Beach and lake with fishing literally across street. 45 minutes to an hour to sleeping bear dunes, ludington or just relax at the cabin. Local dollar general has most groceries you might need. So grateful for new AC! It was in the 90s outside and house comfortable with no need for fans. Will definitely rebook, great communication and follow up with owners! A plus!
We stayed in Sarah’s rental so our group of 8 could go out on a salmon charter from Manistee. The home is nicely updated and extremely clean. It is well stocked with everything you need to feel right at home during your stay from dishes to condiments to extra camp chairs! The lake across the street is perfect size for a relaxing kayak or paddle boat ride and we caught many panfish as well, which was an awesome bonus for our group of fishers!! Communication with the host was perfect from check in to check out. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this rental!
