About this property

Are you in need of ADVENTURE?

Are you in need of ADVENTURE? Have you ever dreamt of washing up on a deserted island? Wouldn't it be great if the island already had a cool cabana with a restaurant and bar to serve you? You can still go out and catch your own lobster, fish or conch. Or you can sit in a hammock and sip on a rum punch while your island hosts fish and cook for you. We will make sure you will always remember this experience. Don't you want a different vacation then all of your friends.
It is time to unplug!!!! Hideaway Caye is a beautiful secluded mangrove island in the middle of some of the most untouched reefs in the Caribbean. We have done our best to keep the island in it's natural state. Your stay at Hideaway Caye is unique because you will be the only guests staying on the island. We as owners live on the island to be your cooks and tour guides. You will also have fun meeting the passing boaters that stop by for a drink or dinner at the bar and restaurant.
FAQ:
*How do I get to Hideaway Caye? From Belize International you can take a flight with either Tropic or Maya Airlines to Dangregia. From Dangregia you can take a taxi to Sittee River Marina (Hopkins Village) We recommend spending the night in Hopkins Village before you board the boat to Hideaway Caye.
*How do I get to Hideaway Caye? Transportation is included in your nightly rate. We pick up at Sittee River Marina at noon.
How long should I stay? 2 days is not enough to relax and enjoy the area. If you like to kayak and snorkel 3-4 days might do it.
*What"s included? Transport to and from Sittee River, 3 meals, unlimited snorkeling, use of kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel gear also your beautiful cabana
Are drinks included? Coffee/tea and juices are included. Soda and alcoholic beverages are extra. The bar is stocked with local beer, rum and other imported liquor.
*Will the Cabana hold more then 2? There is a queen size bed and full size futon. Four people will fit snuggly. Price is based on double occupancy. Additional guest are $100 USD per person per night.
*Is there fresh water? The island has fresh water by rain catchment. The showers, sinks and flushing toilets all use this water. The water is fresh and potable. Please be mindful of your water consumption.
*What do the meals usually consist of? Most meals consist of the fresh catch of the day. If you have any food dislikes or allergies please let us know beforehand so we can plan accordingly.
*What should I bring? Sunblock (ideally, reef safe), a bathing suit, long sleeve swimming shirts, beach towels, water shoes, snacks, money for your bar tab and your sense of adventure.
I am sure there are many other questions I have not answered. This getaway is not like spending a couple nights at the Holiday Inn so feel free to ask.

Island of disconnect

If you want to disconnect from the outside world then this is the place. We loved our time here with Dustin, Kim, and Ama. The food Kim prepared was some of the best we’ve had anywhere and the company during our stay was delightful. We snorkeled before breakfast on our own around the island and after breakfast Dustin and Ama would take us on kayaks to a reef off one of the neighboring islands where we found conch, and other fresh fish and seafood for our meals. We had an absolute amazing time! They were truly wonderful hosts!

Dustin and I were bartenders in the Florida Keys when we bought Hideaway Caye in 2004. We built Hideaway Caye from the ground up and opened for business in 2009. We really enjoy its peace and tranquility. We really think we have a special place and would love to share it with you.

Why they chose this property

There is nothing else like it!

What makes this property unique

Unlike many other private island in the area we have only one cabana. You will be the only guests staying on the island. You can meet passing boaters and share stories at the restaurant and bar. All you have to do is show up on the dock. There is no need to plan your meals. We have it all covered.
