North Beach/Telegraph Hill Gem!

Our stay at this perfectly appointed apartment was just what we needed while in town for business. We were within walking distance to restaurants, night life and shopping as needed. The neighborhood is vibrant and the property managers were very helpful. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves traveling to San Francisco again!

Location, Location, Location!

Had a wonderful experience here, very close to lots of restaurants and entertainment. It's also a very manageable walk down to Pier 39. The space was comfortable, ample bedding and toiletries. You can tell that David wants you to have a good experience, very, very thorough book of things to do and places to visit. Pros: - Price (lots of value here) - Location - Bedding / Toiletries - Advice / Tips Cons: - Parking was a bit tough due to some dated information, choose Imperial Parking, $30 for overnight and was, seemingly, the closest. Drop your bags off first, bit of an uphill climb back - Noise, the neighbors have a couple small children that did get loud at times (kids being kids), didn't ruin the experience by any means, just full disclosure I would recommend staying here to friends or family without hesitation, very accommodating and allowed us to have a wonderful San Francisco visit!

Comfy, updated and perfectly situated!

We had the good fortune of finding this homey little North Beach apartment on the HomeAway website. Upon arrival, the apartment was just as we'd hoped it would be with stylish (but not fussy) appointments, fresh white linens and a nicely equipped kitchen. The place actually exceeded our expectations in terms of size. Furnishings were clean, modern and very comfortable and there was a spectacular 360-degree view from the roof. We also loved the location: The building is on a quiet residential street yet is just 2 blocks from all the quaint little shops, restaurants, coffee bars, markets, etc. you could want. A quick 2-block hike up the hill gets you to Coit Tower! We had an event at the world-famous City Lights Bookstore and it was just a 5-minute jaunt from the apartment. Our only regret was not having enough time to get to even a fraction of the places in the neighborhood. The management was beyond accommodating and even let us leave our bags in the basement when we arrived early and before our flight home. Such a huge convenience! We highly recommend this charming little spot in this truly glorious city and look forward to using it again ourselves!

Great property, Great location!

We stayed at this property for 8 days and had a great trip and experience in San Francisco. We have 2 boys (10 and 12) that slept on the pull out couch and cot. The arrangement worked out fine and everyone was comfortable. To save space, we only pulled the couch out at night, but ended up keeping the cot set up all week which gave the boys some extra space to relax during the day! The apartment was very clean and neat, and the interior was very updated. Unfortunately, there is construction being done to the side of the building and we were woke up every morning with workers on scaffolding basically right outside the window. If the window didn't have the shades, they would have been staring at us in the bedroom. They were quite loud so there was no sleeping in, except on the weekend when they were not working. You may want to inquire as to when this work will be completed. The location was superb. We walked everywhere! To Coit Tower, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square and to all the great restaurants in the area. Also, the hill leading to the unit is very steep but my boys loved it! The only other issue was the bathroom. It is extremely small and has barely any space to place your items. It got very crowded with the 4 of us. However, overall I would recommend this unit with its great location in a quiet area and so close to everything!

Great location, well equipped, could be cleaner

The apartment is in an excellent location, central to many of the tourist sites and close to bus stops (we found the 30 and 10 buses particularly useful). It is partway up one of the many steep hills in the city. The apartment was very well equipped; the compact kitchen had a large fridge freezer and enough equipment to make breakfast and a few evening meals. It was pretty much as we expected from the description online; the bathroom and walk in closet are both off the bedroom - it was absolutely fine for the two of us but I don't think it would be very comfortable with any more than three or four people. The walls are very thin, we heard the neighbours particularly on Saturday night (we had long detailed instructions not to make much noise, especially after 11 pm -- the neighbours either didn't have these, or ignored them) but busy days walking round the city helped tire us out enough to sleep OK most of the time. Two things that could be improved: 1) The place could be cleaner - in general but especially the floor. The manager apologised about the stained carpet and settee, said they're due for replacement, but the cupboards, hard floors, windows and other surfaces could all do with a deep clean. 2) The detailed check in instructions told us to contact the property manager an hour before arrival. We followed all instructions including this and found it locked up with nobody there when we arrived. Turned out the man whose details we'd been given no longer worked for them and we had to contact and wait for somebody else! Details like this are important to communicate to guests correctly and to update as soon as they change! This made the start of our stay very stressful, but hopefully won't affect many guests. On the plus side, the check out was very easy and hassle free as the door locks itself after you - we appreciated not having such a complicated process to leave as we had to leave for the airport before 5 am. Be sure to remember to ask for your damage deposit back after the rental!

Great location, clean and well equipped, very responsive owner

As I said, North Beach location is great. Embarcadero, financial district, downtown, Chinatown are within walking distance. Many Italian restaurants, cafes and bakeries are all around. Admittedly the walking is quite hilly but well worth it. The apt is cozy and comfortable. The owner's guide to both the apartment and the neighborhood is comprehensive and extremely helpful

Great getaway!

My friend and I had 4 beautiful days in David's condo in North Beach! So conveniently located to charming neighborhoods, unique shops and great food! We were all over town so easily with the Red Bus tour and great Uber drivers. Great floor plan for 2 people, all necessities furnished and Nature Shop just around the corner for groceries. The bathroom is quite small so plan to uee a hanging bag for toiletries, and the shower is great! Sofa bed mattress needs to be replaced though. Must check out the view from the rooftop, so special!!

Great location and apartment!!!

Sometimes less is more, and so it goes with this apartment and my review! I needed to travel to SanFran for the RSA Security Conference, but wanted to bring my family along to keep me company. Rather than go the hotel route, chose to try to find a VBRO place. This apartment was perfect. Located a nice 20 minute walk to Moscone, but your legs better be in good shape, oh them SanFran hills! The apartment was everything as advertised, clean with modern decor and appliances. Great pre-rental communication and local assistance for anything we needed like extra towels etc. All in all, just a great place to stay to sleep family of 4. I highly recommend this unit and the owners and staff that make it available!

Peaceful North Beach

Being just outside the hustle of the city makes for easy sleeping at night while giving quick access to downtown and firshermans warf destinations. I stayed at Davids place for a business trip while my co-workers stayed in a loud dirty sleepless overpriced near union square hotel. Using the BART from the airport and less than a mile walk (though rideshares are available) to the apartment made for a great car-free work trip. I absolutely would stay Davids clean apartment again in the future.

North Beach Appartment

Had a great stay at this cozy apartment with a fantastic view from the roof! It was conveniently located for all our needs on our visit to San Francisco. Parking was a little tricky but expected in the city...would recommend booking the owners spot in the initial inquiry if you have a car- we did get a good work out climbing San Francisco's famous hills. Close to food and attractions - The owner did a great job describing the area and amenities in the apartment book. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for the four of us. We would definitely stay here again- such a great city and area we really loved it!

Great Apartment. Great Location. Great Price.

I want to start by saying...I do a LOT of research before I book a vacation rental. Seriously, I've been told I have a 'problem', whatever that means! First, location--excellent. Just far enough away from the busyness of Columbus Ave. to have peace and quiet. But close enough to walk down the hill and be in the middle of it all. In doing research before we left, I learned that the corner market had closed. Sad story...and we would have used it every day. Going down the hill for something and walking back up is no joke. Really--it is a monster at the end of the day when you're tired from all the other hills. Hill or not, this is the location you want. Second--accommodations. I personally love older, oldish homes. It's all about character. The apartment had charm and all the necessary elements of a good vacation rental. It was me and my 17 year old son for 5 nights. He slept on the sofa bed and I l took the bedroom. He says the sofa bed was comfy and I can't say enough about the bed. Slept soundly each night. Didn't plan on using the kitchen for cooking as we intended to eat our way through North Beach and Chinatown, but it was well equipped had we wanted to cook meals. The tv options were perfect for my son when he wanted to stay up late and watch Netflix, etc. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5--the bathroom. Having already said that I love old homes, the bathroom just hasn't held up as well as the rest of the apartment. Just a fresh coat of paint, a shower curtain rather than just a clear liner, and a new curtain rod would do wonders (the current one is rusty). DO NOT let this keep you from renting this apartment, but it does take away from the charm. Oh...one other thing! You only get one set of towels per person. Meaning we had to use the same washcloth all week. Strange. And when I texted the property manager to see where the other towels were, I found out there weren't any. She offered to bring 2 more towels and I declined. No need for her to make a trip, but appreciated the offer! In conclusion--given the very informative and entertaining guide you receive upon booking, there is nothing more the owner could possibly do to educate you about the apartment and neighborhood. I felt like I had stayed there before I even arrived! So...big hill, great neighborhood, charming home, wonderfully equipped (bring extra washcloths), oh and reasonably priced! Well worth the rental fee. Don't stay in a hotel when you can rent an apartment like this.

Fantastic property in a great location

We stayed here for 5 nights, and absolutely loved it. The apartment is in a great location, and you can walk everywhere (just beware of the steep hill to get to the property). Beautifully kept apartment

We had a great stay at David's apartment. Everything was clean and well kept, there was plenty of space, everything we needed was there. The bed and duvet was divine. We did however think we could use the washing machine and dryer on the premises but the new guest manual says we could not so that was a small inconvenience as we would've liked to do some washing at the end of our stay. The guest manual was very informative and detailed though it did not provide the PIN to unlock parental controls on Amazon so we were unable to watch amazon programs - only Netflix. This was not an issue apart from the fact that amazon programs came up as options but whenever we tried to view one it wouldn't let us (just meant we wasted time looking through them trying to select something to watch!) The property is on a very steep street. I think it's probably one of the steepest in San Fran! We were traveling with a baby (and pram) and pushing the pram up the hills was interesting!! Not impossible (well not for my husband but I would've struggled!) and certainly good exercise!! Something to consider for those who have a baby in tow. It was a great central location though and we walked easily to Fishermans wharf, union square and other downtown locations. We started to avoid using the pram and used our baby carrier instead! It was very very close to the restaurants of North beach (little Italy) and Chinatown. Another small gripe - the info said the bed had an electric blanket but it did not. It was not too cold when we stayed but I'm a cold sleeper so still would've appreciated it! Thanks David for having us. We enjoyed our stay!

Cozy and GREAT location

The apartment was just as advertised, and the central SF location could not have been better. Don't miss out on all the great restaurants within a few blocks (we went to Park Tavern for their weekend brunch TWICE!) and Hole in the Wall Coffee right around the corner. We would stay here again.

Excellent Location!!

We were very pleased with David's apartment! It is within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf, trolleys, and bus routes. We were also very impressed with all the information David provided before we arrived in San Francisco. This made it easy for us to use the BART train from the airport, which is quick and inexpensive. Angelica was at the apartment when we arrived, and she was very helpful! There are TONS of restaurants around the apartment, and again, we appreciated David's recommendations. We were disappointed to find out the Fog Hill Market has permanently closed, but there were other convenience stores close by. The apartment itself was very clean and quiet. We would definitely stay here again!!

Safe & Central Location to Take in the Sights of San Fran!

Location: Fantastic central location within walking distance to Union Square, the Ferry Building, Coit Tower, lots of restaurants (you may want to invest in a taxi/Uber to get back to the suite, which requires going up, up, up the famous hills of San Francisco! On average, we paid $5-7/Uber ride). Located in a safe & relatively quiet neighborhood (keep in mind that you're still in a major city so there's going to be some traffic noise but we were surprised how quiet it was). Communication: We were provided with a VERY comprehensive guide prior to arriving to the suite, complete with detailed directions (including pictures for us "visual learners") and recommendations for transportation/parking/restaurants. In addition to being helpful and informative, it was a very entertaining read! I appreciate the time David put into writing & compiling this guide. Due to a previously scheduled appointment, the management company had to go into the suite during our rental period to install a bookshelf. We were notified well in advance and appreciated the heads up. Suite: The suite was very clean & had everything we needed for our short stay in San Francisco. The guide mentioned there was an electric blanket on the bed which would have been nice as we found the foggy evenings were chilly but I expect the electric blanket may have been removed during the summer (we stayed the end of September and apparently had just missed a stretch of hot weather). The first morning we couldn't figure out why the shower curtain was so short but before we had a chance to mention it, the shower curtain rod was fixed when management came in to install the bookshelf so it was a non-issue the next day. Our only complaint was that we didn't get to stay longer! We will definitely stay at this suite again if/when we find ourselves in San Francisco! Way better than the over priced hotels. Thanks!

Great San Francisco experience.

We stayed for three nights on the way home from a 1mth road trip through the National Parks. The apartment is well located and well equipped, with a comfortable bed and is quiet . The location is excellent, transport is at hand and there are an enormous number of eating and drinking spots within easy walk. The description and photos are accurate. It is on the ground floor It is SF, so leave your car at home, although there is apparently some paid parking available

Rent without hesitation

Let me start by saying I never give a perfect score because I believe there is always room for improvement but rest assured this place is great. We stayed here from 23-09-2016 to the 28-09-2016. The appartement is exactly as you see it in the pictures, small, cozy and perfect for two. The owner also prepared for guests a very helpful guidebook that lists everything first time visitors need to know. Nice touch and we used it every day. Pros and Cons in no particular order are location location location. The flat is very well situated and close to many sites, great restaurants and bars, markets and districts but be prepared to walk. The apartment itself is on a very steep hill but this is San Francisco after all. However, this is an old building so the walls are quite thin. You will hear the neighbors and they will hear you but by no means was this disturbing. The views from the rooftop terrace are amazing and the bed is very comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi and cable signals were weak but not missing. We were able to communicate with our family and friends without problems. Our overall experience was very positive and as mentioned in the header, rent without hesitation, you won't be disappointed with this place.
