Only 10 minutes walk to the village center, situated in a peaceful residential area, Grande Plaisir is an upmarket self-catering holiday residence. This brand new accommodation is tastefully decorated with light and spacious rooms, furnished to a high quality throughout.
Relax at the pool with beautiful mountain views or enjoy our lovely garden and make time "to smell the roses".
Make this your base to travel and explore the Winelands from. Only 1 hour to Cape Town and a bit more to Hermanus with just 30 minutes to Paarl and Stellenbosch.
The house is lovely decorated with special touches - your home away from home!
With a lot of space in the living area and kitchen, you'll never feel in the way of anybody else.
The bedrooms are romantically decorated and all has modern, en-suite bathrooms with double showers.
The property consists of 2 fully equipped apartments, (the Protea can be added to this). Should demand require, the property's internal design allows for 1 party of 8 guests to stay together. Then with sole use of pool, garden and barbecue area.

Great location and facilities with wonderful outdoor area, all very well maintained. Warm welcome from the owner. Worth mentioning no curtailment to electricity usage during load shedding as there is an excellent 24 hour back up system in place. Will definitely book again.

Made very welcome by Marlicia and husband Louis. All our questions and requests promptly answered. Even help with the barbeque lighting. Delighted to find maid service and laundry all included.

Immaculate home with large open spaces
A beautifully kept home 10 min walking distance from the main strip. The house has 3 big bedrooms all en-suite. Tastefully decorated. The outside area was just perfect to come back to after a day on the wine tram. Relaxing by the pool with a braai going and surrounded by the perfect mountain views. We will definitely be coming back.

We have stayed at both Petit Plaisir and Grand Plaisir for a number of years now and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when staying in Franschhoeck. Marclicia is so very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

A truly wonderful & relaxing stay
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Grande Plaisir and as previously, Marlicia and her team were so welcoming and could not do enough to ensure our stay was relaxing & we had everything we needed. Fabulous daily cleaning service. The property is in a great location near the Village and local vineyards. Child friendly and decent sized pool with plenty of sun lounger to relax on. The kitchen is very well equipped and Marlicia would happily provide anything you might need. Another gorgeous stay, thank you for having us and looking after us so well.

Great experience! Kind people & amazing location
For someone who travel world wide, this place is exceptionally good! Firstly, Marilicia the owner is one of the most kind and lovely humans I’ve met. We came for a short stay for a good friend wedding and we booked the cottage for 6 sleepers, when extra friend from UK want to join us, Marcilia opened an extra bed for him, and when we needed a ride to the wedding venue and back as we wanted to celebrate and drink, her son and his girlfriend drove us both ways with a humble amount, what a lovely experience!! We definitely coming back in the future ! Highly recommended and value for money

Why they chose this property

We started our first guest cottage, Petit Plaisir, in 2005.
This was extremely successful and really kept me busy all year.
This property came onto the market, which is just next door. We jumped at the opportunity to expand the business.
If you have to stay home and see to 2 guests, you might as well look after 10 :-)

What makes this property unique

Louis, my husband, did the planning around the renovations and I loved to make this a home for guests to feel special and relaxed, if they stay for 2 days or 20. You'll find everything you'll need and more.
