We had a great time at the lake! The house worked well to accommodate our group. A few issues arose, however, the host was extremely attentive and resolved all of the questions/issues quickly.
We had a great time staying here. The house was better than expected and very homey and clean. The property was great and access to the lake was wonderful!
Our group had a blast staying at this house
, we came here last year and had to come back to the same place! We enjoy the proximity to the lake and the dock is great for hanging out and swimming off of. The A/C was not working when we arrived but they were very easy to contact and prompt in sending someone out, and it was fixed within a couple hours. Would gladly recommend this place to any family and friends.
My family had a very nice stay for a long weekend. As was mentioned in other reviews the walk to the lake was somewhat difficult. Other than that, everything was perfect.
Getting to the dock is unsafe with littles! You need a side by side or something. The front staircase to the front of the house needs boards replaced it’s a safety concern.
Our stay at the property was good. The property is exactly as explained in the listing. The owners are fast to respond to any questions or concerns. When we arrived the house was hot and they had a technician there within 30 minutes to look at the AC. The issue was the AC was not turned down prior to our arrival therefore it took until the next morning for the house to cool down. The path to the lake is steep be careful! It’s partially blacktop the other part is sharp loose rocks. But once down there we had a blast all day!

Wedding Weekend
The home was overall very clean and spacious. There was evidence of mold in the downstairs bathroom that the owners stated couldn’t be remedied because they believed it would take longer to repair than for which we were staying. This is understandable, yet unfortunate as some of my family were recovering from respiratory illness and are sensitive to mold. We had quite a difficult time being able to connect with the rest of our family in other homes we had rented as there was little to no cell phone reception and no access to internet. I attempted to contact the owner in regards to accessing WiFi, but had no response. There wasn’t any WiFi information in the welcome binder despite there being a router that was running. Not a huge deal but it was quite difficult to communicate with our families during our wedding weekend. Although the home was very clean and spacious, the photos didn’t quite prepare us for the layout of the home and the odd steps up and down within the home. At least once my stepmom tripped on a stair in the basement hallway. Thankfully she was not hurt. Overall, this was a pleasant stay for the price point.
We went out and had our friend/family Thanksgiving. The dining room table was plenty big enough to accommodate all of us. We loved the porches and decks and would have been on them more had the weather been better. Having cable TVs both upstairs was a lovely bonus and helped keep the kids entertained. We enjoyed our stay and talked about returning there for our next year's gathering as well.
For context, we keep our boat at the marina nearby and regularly rent ABNB and VRBO in the area - hence have a good understanding of the market. The property is in an excellent location/area. The home is in good shape overall and appears to have been recently renovated (at least upstairs). The main issues we had were that certain items were not clean. Shower liners were EXTREMELY moldy/dirty, Master shower head was rusty/hard water stained, caulking around tubs missing/moldy, pillowcases stained, air vents covered in dust, silverware had to be washed due to syrup or something from a prior guest dripped across it, etc. The property was 'generally' clean, but it was obvious it had not been thoroughly cleaned before our stay. We did rent toward the end of lake season so it's possible the owners will replace/address some of these items...but for our stay it was definitely disappointing. The beds were ok (prior posts indicated issues--we didn't have any issues) and the walk up from the dock was ok (we had 2 elderly guests who made it up with limited issues). The owner was responsive and courteous, hence I think there is a good chance they will address the items based on feedback. Overall, the property was 'good' but it could be great with a few minor adjustments.

No response from owner
Tampon wrappers behind the bed and floors were dirty. Toy room was a complete mess. I emailed the owner and called and received no response. Left a day early.
If you're second guessing this place, just stop. The home is beautiful! We were in the area on motorcycles and had a group of 16, with more than enough room! The road getting back to the house is a bumpy but paved nonetheless. Whoever does the cleaning was sure to have the place smelling wonderful when we showed up! The trek down to the water really wasn't at that bad. It wasn't the best on the way up. As other's have stated, it's fairly steep but doable. It did not stop us from visiting the dock, as the lake is gorgeous and coffee on the water was a must! Do not let the reviews about uncomfortable beds stop you. They aren't that bad. One queen and and twin both appeared to have fairly new pillow top mattresses and the rest of the beds were firm but not uncomfortable. As previously stated, the house is very spacy. Should you find yourself needed to get away from 15 other guests, one of 3 decks should do the trick! Amy was wonderful to work with and was quick to answer any questions. Can't wait to return in the warmer months and really put that cove to use! Oh, and the neighbors were wonderful! Watch for deer on the road, they're domesticated and have no real desire to get out of the way in a hurry :)
The home was spacious, and well laid out for our group of two families. The owner was very responsive throughout the whole process (initial reservation through checkout), and quickly answered any questions and addressed a few minor issues that arose. The location in dense forest, proximity to lake (lakefront), and abundance of outdoor seating areas is ideal. There is wifi in the home, but it is extremely slow. It was fine for our minimal needs liking checking email, but if someone was trying to do any work (not that you want to work on a vacation anyway! ;)), it would not suffice. As mentioned in previous reviews, the walk to the lake is steep. It is partially paved with the remainder being loose stone and dirt. It could certainly be a challenge for older visitors or small children. I always feel bed "comfort" is discretionary when reading reviews. I find a firm mattress comfortable, others prefer soft...what I will say is that the mattresses and bedding in this home are "tired." Regardless of firm or soft, it seems they could all use replacement. Air conditioning and a washer/dryer were much appreciated amenities. The grill is charcoal, not gas, so plan accordingly if you want to grill. All in all, this home is extremely fitting if your looking to enjoy a Beaver Lake home with water access. The kids couldn't get enough of the water! We would certainly stay here again. Thank you!
Our party of 10 enjoyed this home's big open floor plan on first level with kitchen, dining table for 10, and tv/living area all open. Beautiful polished wood in the home and ceilings. Room to park 3 cars plus boat trailer. We enjoyed hours of swimming and fishing off the dock which gets great sunshine (West facing). It is a steep hill up and down to the dock, but got easier as the week went by - paved with concrete half way and a hand rope if needed. Recommend tennis shoes not flip flops for second half of trek due to loose rocks/pebbles. Home A/C kept us very cool.
The cove was quiet and delightful. The water was amazingly clear - can see your feet in the water while swimming. We explored lots of the lake by boat and found a cliff/waterfall for jumping into the lake with steps, and a cave to take a tour of. The lake had no debris and the shoreline is still mostly trees - can barely see the houses beyond them - keeps Beaver Lake just stunning. Delighted not to have large boats and wakes to worry about like elsewhere. We are thrilled to have discovered this location and plan to return. Our host, Amy, answered all our questions and was quick to reply. This was one of our best lake vacations. Thank you!
This was perfect for our family of 13! Amy was super to deal with. The dock was great for swimming and lounging. It is quite the trek down so make sure to take all your stuff on the first trip down unless you wanna work on your calf muscles haha. The decks were perfect for morning coffee and the front deck was great for visiting and the cornhole boards. Our 3 year old grandson really enjoyed his “second home” for the week 😁
We had such an amazing time. There was plenty of space for all of us. Beds were comfy. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Amy was great to work with, prompt to respond and quick to action!!
The rental process was a breeze and they made it very easy to find the cabin, and to check in. We loved the space the cabin offered and the decks. The cabin was pretty clean, and there was plenty of clean towels for everyone. The private boat slip/ swimming dock was awesome! We loved every minute of that.
I do think a couple of improvements need to be made. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. It reminded me of my dorm room in college. Every person woke up saying their back hurt. Mattresses are expensive but having a nice mattress is a key accommodation when taking a vacation! Also, the walk to and from the boat slip was so rough. So steep it was a nightmare trying to get my kids back and forth. I dreaded making the walk up to the cabin. We managed, and I know their isn’t much that can be done for the steepness, but it would have been amazing to have some type of stairs. Overall we enjoyed it and would book again!
Beautiful great size home. Plenty of towels and necessities. We really enjoyed our visit. Great communication with owners. There were even toys for the little kids.
The home was very appropriate for our gathering!!! We really enjoyed the location, the lake & dock, and the convenience of having the 5 bedrooms & 3 baths. We did not use the grill, as our son-in-law brought a gas grill along. But we would suggest getting a landline phone put in, since there is no cell service. If there had been an emergency, I don''t know what we would have done. Thank you for sharing your place with us!!!
