This cottage has much wood and tile, which I like, along with the flavor of whimsy. While the bedroom with the bunk bed, is very small, the room with the king bed in it, is very spacious, with a comfy bed. We cooked in the kitchen daily, at least one meal, and had no issues finding what we needed. The pots and pans were in very good shape, and the knives that I used were sharp for cutting vegetables.
The location is amazing. I walked to the beach, everyday, while enjoying my morning coffee, using the wooded paths, which are so close to the cottage. The cottage is across the street from Lake Michigan. There is also a sandy, public beach with park and the pier, that we walked to, since it was, at most, a 5 minute walk from the cottage. It is easy to bring your chairs, etc. since it is such a short walk.
It is only a 10 minute walk to the best part of the town, where there are shops and eateries to enjoy. This cottage is located on the best side of the bridge, in my opinion, for access to the harbor and the quaint business district. Although, the drawbridge is not up for too long, however, it is a small convenience, especially if you have a car, that you are using to pick up groceries in that area.
Debbie gave us her phone number, and is very responsive, so no worries there. We didn't have any problems, but she is good about checking in and communicating with you, and is kind. We were going to arrive later, with no time for grocery shopping, and she notified me, that she had left eggs and milk in the refrigerator, for us, which was very helpful, since I have a 17 year old boy, with a very big appetite, that eats eggs at night!
I highly recommend this place for relaxing, while enjoying both nature and a quaint village. I just hope that there open days, when we find our way back!
