We booked a full day float fishing trip and stayed here towards the tail end of the season for our anniversary. We had access to the hot tub and the property was vacant except us. It was relaxing and quaint. Dog friendly.
The cabin was clean and comfortable. The lake with the dock and swimming area was super fun. Bill is a friendly, easy going host. We had a fun weekend out there.
We have never stayed at a cabin in Alaska before. And the experience here was awesome and the host was great!! Our kids enjoyed the lake, petal boating and the canoe. We will definitely be back!!
The hot-tub was clean and hot.
The boats were free to use and there were plenty.
The lake was beautiful.
The firepit came with free firewood.
Bill is a friendly and available host if we needed anything.
The Winter Park Cabins were exactly what we needed to finish our 3 week Alaska camping trip. The cabin had all basic necessities and the VHS collection was a hit! It rained most of our stay there but that didn’t stop our desert boys from jumping in the lake from the private beach, and peddling out on the provided peddle boats. Hot showers, grills, private beach, canoes, laundry, what more could we need!? Next time we are in Alaska, we will definitely be back to the Winter Park Cabins!
Being Alaskan we were looking for a place on a lake to relax and enjoy the weather....this place did not disappoint! We had a wonderful time! Bill is super nice, the property is well kept and plenty of places to explore around the area. Make sure to bring your bug spray and all will be fine. We brought our own floating fun for the lake and enjoyed just sitting out on the water and BBQ everyday! Thank you Bill for setting us up and definitely....we will be back in the future!
We stayed for a few days over the 4th of July. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't as cooperative as we had hoped but we still got out to do things. It was our first visit so we weren't sure what to expect. We stayed in the "deluxe" cabin with hot tub, shower in cabin, and it has absolutely everything you need. Didn't use the upstairs bed, just stayed downstairs on the futon, which was fine for us. 3 stars on cleanliness, just because a lot of the dishes needed to be rewashed before being used, knives were greasy, and it's time to change the shower curtain. Nothing to deter us from staying again. Paddleboats were great, beach area is great, fire pit is nice... Would be nice to have firepit at cabin location though. Cabins are outfitted with TV and *VCR* with *tons* of VHS tapes (and DVDS)!!! We stayed in and watched some oldies on a couple of chilly nights, it was great!!!! Suggestions... Need a curtain on the back of the door and blackout or darker curtains would be great for the summer. The dog was very welcomed, she had a great time, and even went out on the Paddleboat. We will *definitely* be back and have already passed the info on to other people. Thanks Bill for being a great host! He is very attentive, easy to reach via phone/text, and came around with whatever we needed.
Great basic cabin on a gorgeous lake. Owner is very helpful and responsive. Hot tub set up is nice and saved our mini vacation when it rained pretty much non stop. Not fancy but worked great for our needs!
We had a large family gathering with one family sharing the cabin and the rest in RV's. We had a wonderful time! William is very accommodating and went out of his way to ensure we were taken care of! (Even gave rides to one of our family members that has a hard time with walking longer distances!) I highly recommend staying here. We are looking forward to staying sometime in the winter with a smaller group!!
This was a good, cozy cabin and a great location to get away from everything but also for seeing nearby sights. We drove to Hatcher Pass and Independence Mine one day. The owner is a native Alaskan and was very helpful about things to do in the area. Definitely recommend this cabin!!
We had the best weekend of the summer out here. The cabin is super clean and the perfect setup. My husband and I came with our 1.5 year old and we just really enjoyed ourselves. The paddle boat on the lake was so fun too! Can’t wait to come back!

2 night stay in the greater Denali National Park Area.
I gave the property a rating of 3. I have stayed in much worse places and have stayed in much nicer places.
The cabin/cottage appeared to be clean; however, there are a number of things the owner could do to make it much cleaner and improve the overall impression of the place. Examples: Clean out the kitchen cupboards from misc items, throw away old magazines that were stacked up, remove clutter, etc.
The cottage had a very musty and odd smell to it. Smelled like it was just fumigated or similar.
Blankets and bedding appeared to be clean; however, many of them were worn and old.
Everything functioned (fridge, stove, bathroom, microwave, TV), it was all very dated which is not a bad thing. Just know what you are getting into.
It was just me and my 18yo son on a fishing trip so all we wanted was a warm and dry place to sleep, which we got. If I would have brought my 17yo daughter, it would not have been acceptable.
We grilled out, used the paddle boats, had smores on a fire and rested in the quiet wilderness. On the rainy day we watched the movies in the cabin and went for walks in the rain. Also used the hot tub several times.

Great location. Quiet, nice pond/lake.
Cabin is not friendly to elderly, luckily our parents canceled. Very difficult to get up stair/ladder if you aren’t agile. Futon are very uncomfortable. But we are low maintenance and enjoyed a warm dry place to stay.
Thank you Bill
Wonderful spot right on ski trails. Very friendly staff, even helped me without hesitation when my vehicle got stuck in a soft bank on the side of the road. Will definitely stay here again!
We had an enjoyable and peaceful stay with groomed trails to snowshoe and the relaxing jacuzzi after returning. One night we had dinner at a local bar & grill, the next night we ate in the cabin with a well equipped kitchen..
We had a wonderful stay and loved the trail system! It was great to bring our dogs and the cabin was perfect for our needs. The hot tub was nice after a chilly afternoon of xc skiing and the cabin stayed nice and warm. Highly recommend! We'll be back!
Our stay was cozy. The location was beautiful, the hot tub was a nice added bonus though in the negative temperatures we had while there, was not super convenient as it is not right next to cabin. Overall, it was a good little getaway cabin for our little crew.
The owners have put a lot of work into an overall cabin getaway experience - room for guests, private lots, accept pets, kayaks, picnic areas, and an easy drive to Talkeetna AK. Will book again
