About this property

Secluded mountain home on 40 acres with spectacular views!

At the end of a mile long curvy mountain drive, nestled atop a granite outcropping which overlooks the valley below, you will find "the Eagle's Nest" - our cozy mountain home which we affectionately call "the cabin".

Our secluded mountain retreat offers the perfect spot for a quiet getaway...
an ideal place for families, couples, or groups of friends to share time together, whether relaxing and soaking in the beauty of the surrounding mountains or adventuring out to explore all that the area has to offer.

This home offers a spacious Greatroom, a large fully equipped Kitchen, two Master Suites with large private bathrooms, a spacious open loft and a third full bathroom.

Guests have access to the entire home and 40 acres of property throughout their stay.

** Note: Nightly Rate is based on 6 Guests.
Additional Guest Fee of $20/night per guest (over 6 guests)

Accommodations:
Sunrise Suite - If you're an early riser and wish to be awakened by the first glimpse of the mountains at sunrise, be sure to leave the drapes open on the porch doors of this suite! King-size bed, private bathroom with large walk-in shower.

Sunset Suite - Fall asleep to a view of the stars in this northwest facing suite. Queen-size bed, private bathroom featuring large shower with river-rock floor to massage your feet after a day of hiking.

Large Open Loft - This spacious open loft has a queen-size sofa sleeper, a full-size bed, and a bunk bed with twin upper/ full-size lower. The loft also has space for additional air mattresses.

The Great Room offers a comfortable gathering space - the perfect place for relaxing in front of the fireplace, reading, playing cards or board games, or enjoying the incredible view!

Our fully equipped gourmet kitchen has everything you'll need for your stay including Sub-zero refrigerator, Viking Gas Cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, coffee-maker, toaster, blender, electric pancake griddle, etc.

The large deck offers plenty of space for outdoor dining or your morning yoga practice, a fireplace to sit by as you enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine, and a hammock for afternoon napping and late-night stargazing!

Our home has both an indoor and outdoor gas fireplace, as well as an outdoor gas grill available for your use. Please note that although there is a fire-pit off of the back porch, NO outdoor fires (either wood or charcoal) are allowed due to the strict fire ban in place in Jefferson County!

Children must be closely supervised at all times as home is located on a granite outcropping with several steep areas which overlook the valley.

Please Note:
Although our place is a secluded 40 acres at the end of our mountain road, there are several neighboring homes that you will pass as you make the drive up into our development.
We ask that you respect our neighbors privacy throughout your stay and use caution as you make the winding drive up and down the road.
We highly recommend a 4WD vehicle when wintery weather is expected.

wonderfully peaceful

Our stay was wonderfully peaceful. Everything was of the highest quality and the location could not have been more ideal for a tranquil rest. There was nothing we could have wanted more. Sunrises over the mountains, wildlife, a great wraparound porch with grill. Perfect

Perfect get away

Fantastic and welcoming hosts. Precise and easy instructions. Very well appointed furnishings. Extremely comfortable. Private and safe. Executive level retreat. This is a perfect location to reset, relax, and get lost in one of the most surreal and scenic locations. Strongest recommendation to visit and I will be back soon.

Better than Anticipated

The trip started out a little rocky as the property was not described accurately when choosing this place to spend our summer vacation. The property indicated it had a hot tub which it did not, the outdoor fireplace did not work which Mary mentioned the day before our departure, and we were unaware of this house not having AC and only a heating system. With all this being said our trip turned out to be better than anticipated. The views were amazing and we had a great time exploring and hiking the 40 acres. The AC ended up not being an issue as the nights were cooler than expected. The house had a cozy feel and after a long day of adventures it was nice to come back to a house that felt like home!

Priceless view

I have been all over the world and the view from the property is one of the best I have ever seen. Everything about this property was perfect and check in and out was a breeze. Mary texted us to make sure we got in and was always available and extremely responsive. It is nice to have a place in a area where I wont have to look at any other place again. If you are bouncing from listing to listing to decide which one just do your self a favor and pick this one.

Views to recharge your soul

Amazing stay at an amazing home. Beautiful views, night and day. Sunrises, sunsets. Stars. Double rainbows, mists moving through the valleys and gulches. Entertainment daily by a fox family. This home is ideal for couples or close family - children would require constant vigilence so not ideal for kids since steep dropoffs are close to house. We could not get enough of sitting on the rocks or patios to view mule deer, birds, outcrops and peaks. Bring binoculars! Drive up to the house can be a challenge without AWD /4×4 if recent rains, or at least a bit of guts! Secluded, peaceful and full of light. The home is superbly outfitted for any need. You will not miss tv here, ever. Highly recommend this home if you are looking for a gorgeous setting, nicely appointed home and responsive host.

Amazing Property

The Eagles Nest is truly an amazing place! Even though the posted pics look great they simply can not do this place justice. When we first drove into view of the house we couldn’t hardly believe it. It felt like we had the whole mountain range to ourselves. During our stay we were visited by deer and humming birds daily and on one very special day a red fox. The property is only 20 min Conifer which is plenty close enough for groceries or anything else we needed. It is also 30 min from red rocks or Staunton State Park, 45 min from Denver, 2 hrs from Colorado Springs and a little under 3 to Estes park even with morning rush hour traffic. The centralized location made all of these doable day trips (I’m exhausted!). Check in and out instructions were clear and nothing too major. Mary was in contact with us several times prior to and during our stay which was nice. Overall our trip was pretty amazing and the Eagles Nest was a huge part of that. Thanks so much to the owners!!

Peaceful, serene, amazing views and great communication.

What a perfect week. Our jaws dropped when we pulled up to the house for the first time. The pictures do not do it justice. Communication with Mary was very easy. She checked in a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed and to inform us of any weather updates. Speaking of weather, we really lucked out with days mostly in the 60s in late November. We had no trouble getting up the road to the house, but I could see it being nerve wracking if the weather got bad. The house is set up very thoughtfully - we got great use out of the kitchen and had all the equipmeny we needed. We spent a ton of time on the porch or in the hammock, enjoying the view during the day and looking at the stars by the outdoor(!) fireplace at night. As mentioned, the cell reception can be spotty depending on your provider but that's to be expected in any mountain retreat like this. Honestly it just added to the feeling of peace and quiet. This spot would be the first place we check for availability on our next trip to Colorado!

Absolutely Breathtaking

First of all, I need to explain that I debated writing a review for the Eagles Nest. On one hand, the property was so perfectly amazing I couldn’t wait to write all about it, but on the other hand, the more people that know about it, it may lessen our chances to rent it again! After a few days of business in Denver we, (my wife, 13yr son and 11yr daughter) made the short drive to Eagles Nest. As we approached the house, each of us fell silent. My wife was literally speechless and choked up when we got inside and it really sunk in that this was all ours! (For four days!) As beautiful as the pictures on VRBO are, they barely begin to do it justice. We didn’t want to leave, and rarely did! A trip to the Bucksnort on Sunday afternoon, which is a must, a trip to the grocery store, and a trip to Bailey to visit the Sasquatch Outpost. The rest of our time was spent enjoying the beauty and serenity of the property. We played cards, read books, did puzzles, took a few hikes, relaxed on the deck, played horseshoes, ping pong, darts, talked.....had an amazing time. We did not want to leave! Marty and Mary checked in via text to make sure we had everything we needed, which we certainly did! I cannot say enough about this property. I don’t know when or if we may be back in Colorado again, but if we are, we will definitely return to Eagles Nest! Thanks Marty and Mary for sharing your wonderful property!, Our family will always cherish our time there. 😃

Our favorite cabin to stay at in Colorado!!

Our family has stayed a tradition of renting a cabin in Colorado during Thanksgiving week, and after staying at other cabins in Colorado, my family votes this cabin as the best. The cabin and location is breathtaking, and the cabin has all the amenities you'd need for your stay. Mary and Marty are such a pleasure to work with, and they are available to answer any questions. Just an absolutely perfect experience!! 5+ stars!!

So pretty

Such an amazing, unique location! The house was beautiful and well-stocked with all the little things that make a place special- hammock, candles, throw blankets and pillows, movies, crock pot, and the BEST well water. This home is definitely a labor of love and family, and we felt welcomed and fortunate to call it home for a few days. Highly recommended!

Escape to the mountains

We had a wonderful time here for a long weekend getaway from Denver with the family. Six of us total. Wife and I plus kiddos aged 3,5,7 and 9. The views were what struck me the most. The cabin is perfectly situated to maximize those views. It’s not called Eagles Nest for nothing! The kids did great. We we’re vigilant with the younger two about boundaries and where they could go and not go to keep them safe. We rode out the polar vortex here with temperatures down to -10! The cabin was so warm and comfortable and cozy. We put older two kiddos up in the loft and the younger two shared one of the bedrooms. I got a nice trail run in at the Little Scraggy Loop trail. About 13.2 miles but worth the effort! Aside from the -10 day the others were beautiful. We brought all our food up with us so we wouldn’t have to go out again. This place is amazing and my family will surly be back if they will have us again!

Perfect Retreat with Amazing Views!

Beautiful! Felt like a home away from home with everything we needed for fun and relaxation. Excellent communication before and during stay. Smooth and easy check-in process. The view is absolutely breathtaking! Plenty of hiking opportunities on the property, which we made the most of. We watched the sunset over the mountains and saw shooting stars at night. A rainbow appeared in the valley right in front of us after an afternoon rain shower. Table tennis was a favorite for the kids, and there were plenty of board games to play together. Did I mention how amazing the view was?! The driveway was well-maintained, and the house was in perfectly clean condition. The hammock was used almost non-stop, and the outdoor fireplace was very enjoyable at night. You won't regret staying here! By the way... the view is incredible!
