A preperty for puzzle solvers
This apartment provided lots of opportunities to exercise the mind. "The keys are in the mailbox." Which mailbox. That one was easy. The keys do not open the front door to the building. Solved with the help of the folks on the main floor. The thermostat is set to 15C (~60F) but the apartment's temperature is close to 25C (over 75F). How to turn the heat down. Pliers would have been helpful.
The listed WiFi does not exist and the property manager does not answer the phone. Fortunately she called back after a bit and was able to track down a working WiFi and password.
There was a Keurig coffee maker and some k-cups. Very nice. However it was powered down and never having used one before, it was amazingly hard to get going.
There was a TV with a built-in DVD player and some DVD's. This, too was powered down and proved amazingly challenging to get into DVD mode (the TV did not receive TV signals, but the ad did not suggest it would). We solved the getting it into DVD mode OK but never could get a DVD to load. Fortunately we brought books.
Lastly a puzzle from VRBO. A price was listed, but when I went to register is was about 30% higher!?? Ah, the listing was in US dollars but as Canadians we pay Canadian dollars. That VRBO would list a Canadian property to a Canadian in US dollars without saying so is inexcusable.
