Beautiful setting of charming house on Eagle River Chain of Lakes Catfish Lake
Our lake house sits on a quiet cove on Catfish Lake, on the Eagle River chain, part of the chain of 28 connected lakes. The Lake House is newly built, with 5 bedrooms, 1 office, 3 bathrooms, large deck overlooking the lake and another large screened in porch for meals and just sitting. In addition we have an outdoor fire pit in a beautiful wooded setting. In the summer, you can take your boat to a restaurant for dinner, or into town for ice cream. Our property sits on 5 acres of lakefront perfect for a swim with a sandy lake bottom, kayaking in our quiet cove or a stroll along the lake and forrest. We also have a very long dock that can accommodate multiple boats. In the winter, you can ice fish in our cove, as last year, a guest caught one of the cove's muskies on Christmas vacation.

Cozy Cabin w/ a nice view of Catfish Lake. Also easy access to the lake for hauling fishing fishing gear, as well as close proximity to other lakes if needed. Plenty of space for sleeping arrangements as well as additional space for cots if needed. Fully stocked kitchen w/ plenty of kitchen gadgets for cooking many types of meals.
Other than the weather, everything was perfect. Kristi does a wonderful job. The cabin is always clean and well appointed. We're already planning a return trip.
Thanks
This cabin was good for our annual Christmas break getaway in the northwoods. Two families playing games, reading books and ice fishing. Plenty of beds & amenities and close to Eagle River. The kids would have liked their own space to hangout but otherwise it was a nice stay.
We had a wonderful time at the house. The house was in very good condition. Beautifully decorated and awesome view of the lake. We had 6 adults, 2 infants and 3 dogs. Room for all was not a problem.
The cabin was perfect, location, design, contents, just as we were looking for. Since my sister and I grew up in Wisconsin and were raised there we know the areas. We would like to return with our children and new grandson..
What a great place to stay! Beautiful property. Quiet, peaceful place on the lake. Kristi was an amazing host and so easy to work with. Wonderful communication and great details when working with her. Hoping to stay here again next year!!
Kristi was easy to work with the home is in excellent condition. Our four families, representing four generations, were able to gather and enjoy a relaxing trip. The shoreline was not as clear as we would have liked but we were still able to enjoy the water.
Our family just finished up a 7 night stay and everything was excellent! The house was very clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. It had way more space than we would have ever expected. Property owners were great with communication and the check in process was easy. We loved the location of the house and the sunsets were gorgeous!
We had a perfect setting for the five households of my immediate family to reconnect in one cozy, yet spacious place, with all the amenities needed to make it feel like home. Walking out on the porch every morning to listen to the birds & see the peaceful sunrise, and every evening to see the speculation sunsets over the lake was by far two of the best parts of this oasis that is on a peaceful, quiet cove. Wildlife such as deer, birds and loons were frequent visitors, yet we were close enough to town that you can go out to eat in the many restaurants of Eagle River or Three Lakes, or pick up anything needed at the big grocery store in just minutes. Having a bathroom on every floor, spacious well-stocked kitchen, relaxing sun porch for putting together puzzles & reading, large kitchen table to host many cribbage games and great deck for all dining together helped all of us to find serenity! My elderly parents truly appreciated that there were no stairs to the front door and a large bathroom & bedroom on the main floor, making this very easy for them to comfortably move around on one floor. The owners and caretakers make the rental process so easy, with touch-less check-in and laminated labels & guides to provide insights to navigate this well-kept cabin with all the needed modern conveniences. We hope to return to the Catfish Lakehouse because it is a gem of comfort and peace!
Perfect cabin on a perfect lake. The cabin was even better than we thought. We had no issues at all! This cabin was new and beautiful. We had no issues during our stay.
Our team stayed at this property during the USA Pond Hockey tournament. We have stayed at several places in the past and this ranks as one of the top places we have stayed in Eagle River. The house itself has all the features you could possibly want and is laid out so that we all had plenty of room. Communication with the property owners is excellent and our overall experience was great. The property is close to Eagle River and was easy to find. We were a little concerned about what the streets would be like having driven through a blizzard on Friday night but by early Saturday morning the streets were plowed and it was easy to get in an out of the property. We had one minor plumbing incident with the water softener on Saturday and the property owners had someone at the house within a couple of hours to fix the issue and were incredibly responsive when we contacted them. I would highly recommend this property!
House was great and was in pretty good condition. Pictures were accurate. House was well stocked with appliances - however, there were no seasonings or oil that we found (so bring your own). We had 9 people and everyone had a bed. We asked if there was a tree and the owners put up a tree for us - although due to the furniture placement, the tree was tucked back by the dining room table, not ideal for putting presents around. Would love to go back in the summer!!!
This home is exactly as pictured. Incredible views of the lake and a wonderful place to relax! The house, kitchen especially, is very well stocked to make anything you’d like.
Last, Kristy is a wonderful host and is very thorough with communication and guidance on what to do in the Northwoods. We will be back!
We had a great time at this property, Kristi was very helpful and responsive. Location is great and the doc was great for relaxing and fishing. House was clean and had everything we needed. We would love to return.
We rented this home for 10 family members and our dogs for “Cabin Christmas”, a makeup for the Christmas 2020 gathering we had to cancel due to Covid. This home is beautiful! The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was large and well equipped, and there were many amenities, including a ping pong table on the lower level, two stand up paddle boards, two kayaks, and a fire pit perfect for making S’Mores. The home is on a bay in Catfish Lake, but we were able to reach several other lakes on our large rental pontoon. This place is HEAVEN for dogs with a long dock for running leaps into the water!
Kristi Maximoff, the owner, was a delight to work with! She provided a wealth of information to us about the property and Eagle River before we arrived, and promptly answered every question we had. When I asked her if there were bike trails in the area she responded with a lengthy email with links to both paved and I paved trails in the area.
We truly enjoyed our stay and had a very Merry Christmas-in August!!
We rented the Catfish Lake House for a week for my family (husband & 3 kids), my parents, and my brothers. We also brought our 2 old labs. This is beautiful location in Eagle River. The house is on a quieter part of the lake which is nice. Since it is a popular chain of lakes boat traffic can get heavier on the weekends. The house was clean and there was plenty of space and things to do for everyone. We went to bed exhausted each night. Communication with the owners was very easy and they are responsive - typically reply in less than 24 hours. Great Experience.

About the host
Hosted by Kristi Maximoff
The owner family has been coming to this property for 4 generations and welcome visitors to their Catfish Lake House. The owner also has 2 more lake homes with similar amenities on the family's 10 plus acres: the Sunset Hill House (VRBO #885424)] and Meta Lake house VRBO#1194420
Why they chose this property
The property is designed for enjoying all aspects of the north woods: The chain of lakes, the nearby forest, the ducks, fishing, boating, or just sitting in peace. The land has been in the owners family for over 100 years, starting with a small cottage built in 1904. This newly constructed house was the first building added in over 100 years and we welcome you to share in our tradition.
What makes this property unique
This house sits in a quiet cove. Half the cove has 5 cottages and the other half we own the rest of it, that is untouched lakeshore and forest. The lake is a only 75 feet from the house and you can watch the fun from our large deck.
