THE BASE PRICE IS FOR SIX (6) PERSONS. There is a $40/person/night additional charge for the number of persons over six.

The Space:
The Log House is a quaint and charming cabin located in the Big East Fork Valley nature preserve. The house has two large bedrooms upstairs (both with private bathrooms) and two bedrooms downstairs which share a bathroom. The living room, kitchen, and dining room are on the ground floor. Outside, there is a gorgeous old wraparound porch with rockers and a beautiful view of the woods.

Guest Access:
Guest has access to the entire house except basement. All registered guest may visit Lake Gratitude and, by appointment, use watercraft provided by staff of the non-profit just down the hill.. Canoes, kayak, paddleboards, paddle boats, oars, lifejackets, and even bicycles are available (appointment required).

For those hankering for an authentic country experience, we have four 300 gallon mobile stock tank pools which can be filled with sweet spring water. Pools can be set up at any property as well as at the Overlook or a private pasture/forest clearing.

The Big East Fork Valley is a unique watershed and there are several unique areas for dipping in the natural waters of our Creek. Love Shack Falls runs best after a good rain. The upstream dipping hole is located along the Upper Creek Trail behind Lake Gratitude and the downstream dipping hole is a short walk away. Several sparse rocky beaches for sunning and catching crawfish, small fish, and other creek critter lie along the creek. Poisonous critters (water moccassins, cottonmouths, bees and wasps) and obnoxious plants (poison ivy, thorny, greenbriars) are present so do take necessary percautions. Walking along the creek is a very special experience for a couple or the entire family. Bring your creek shoes!

The Neighborhood:
This lodging is part of the Fork Inn, which lies at the beginning of a pristine creek within a gorgeous valley. All Fork Inn guests may walk around Lake Gratitude, explore miles of hiking trails and creek, and use our stock-tank pools at the farm shelter.

Enjoy biking, hiking, canoeing, massage, yoga and more! Nearby Big East Fork Farms downstream provides organic produce.

We are located 20 miles from downtown Nashville, 8 miles from historic Franklin (old time Main Street, fancy restaurants, boutique shopping), 7 miles from Leiper's Fork (Distillery tours, Fox & Locke Live Music - don't miss Thursday night's open mic) and light years away from the stress of city life. The Fork Inn is part of a 2000-acre Conservation easement and features a 8-acre lake, miles of creek, and many meadows and hiking trails. There is bicycle and walking access onto the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway within a mile. We are adjacent to the Center for Sustainable Stewardship with has many hiking trails, bicycles, and an organic farm. Meet Rosie the Donkey, Winston the cow, and the piggies !

Getting Around:
Uber and Lyft operates here, but a personal or rental car is recommended.

Other Things to Note:
The price quoted is for Lodging only. Events and/or Parties are NOT permitted without documented approval. The internet is via superfast fiberoptic. One night stays are not permitted on Saturday.

Interaction with Guests:
The Log House sits at the top of a small hill 5 miles from historic Leiper's Fork. The Center for Sustainable Stewardship is close by and always looking for new friends! We generally leave our guests alone, but may visit at appropriate time to say hello.

The cabin was clean, the scenery was perfect, the self-initiated walks were blissful.

Although the wonderful commendations we left, it was a bit cumbersome that there were not enough kitchen utensils to cook properly, and it was I convenient that we brought firewood when the fireplace was not operable (one of the main reasons we decided on this cabin). Also, not a verbo fan at all. Very disconnected if you do not want to download the app.

Tennessee Dreamin’!

The place was perfect for our needs. Nothing says a Tennessee experience like a cabin in the hills! This place was awesome, everything worked out just fine! My only minor complaint was the lack of cell service, but that only added to the secluded feel!

Family Nashville Getaway

We loved the location, size, and peacefulness of the property. We did some hiking, creek-walking, fed the animals on the farm, and also drove into Nashville, Franklin, and Leiper's Fork for some music and shopping. The people we met at check in (Wade and Nerissa) were awesome - pleasant, friendly, informative and helpful throughout our stay. We were hopeful to use the kayaks/canoes/paddleboards on Lake Gratitude, with the CSS, but unfortunately they had stopped offering that option just prior to our arrival. If this is something you're looking for, ask about availability prior to booking. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the morning coffee on the porch, the wildlife, and the beautiful countryside. Oh, and the new hot tub as well :) Sounds like they're looking to continue to improve the trails and the experience through CSS, so if you're looking for an escape from city/suburban life (which we were), and can handle some nature, this is a nice option. If you're looking for the modern facilities and niceties of a 4 or 5 star hotel, this may not be for you. We, however, enjoyed our stay, and loved working with Wade and Nerissa to maximize our week.

Great location, Misleading amenities list

The check in process is a bit strange as they want to meet you and talk to you, which can be arduous after a long drive. especially in the time of Covid. That being said, Wade was very personable. The amenities listed include a hot tub, however you have to read the fine print as the hot tub is not located on the property but in a retreat down the road, that has normal business hours so if you want to relax in a hot tub in the evening you are out of luck, had I known this I would have booked another property. you also aren't allowed to use the fireplace, and there is no outdoor fire pit on site. Also it was strange that after checking in and beginning our amorous weekend we were disturbed by the sound of someone letting themselves in the cabin door. This put my girlfriend on edge for the rest of the evening. He did not knock, just started letting himself in. This is a problem. Overall it was a great weekend with a few hiccups. I would recommend this rental but be sure to read the fine print.
