Brule River Gem!

This place is awesome! Some buddies and I stayed here for a couple days to explore the area and fish. It was filled with beautiful views of Lake Superior, amazing wildlife and a place to escape. The cabin is a great north woods retreat, well maintained and has all the features and enmities you’ll want! The hosts are very nice people and very helpful with the area fishing! Highly recommend!!

Great Family Vacation Cabin

Wonderful location with beautiful view of Brule River and Lake Superior. Close to sand beach, 4 year old went to the beach every evening, played till sun went down. Fishing, canoeing, kayaking at your door step. Great deck to enjoy morning coffee and grilled dinners or a game of cards.

Family trip

House was clean and nice area. It is very remote (we liked that) so need to plan if you need anything. We did not hear any instructions on check in until the day of our arrival. Very nice host just maybe reach out to him a week ahead.

Great views and location on the Brule

Great little cabin along the brule. Although my groups timing hit very high water on the river we still enjoyed spending time inside. We were able to enjoy dinner in Port Wing and Brule during our stay without having to drive too far.

Astounding property and location

The property is an absolutely perfect location, beach was a quick 10min walk. Views from the balcony was just as incredible as described. We used the sauna and it was a great addition to the overall experience. Especially loved the shower inside the sauna to cool off occasionally! Literally only complaint was that we could not find a cutting board, but there was a sort of butcher block island that we cut some veggies and things on, but had to use a plate to prep raw meat on. Otherwise everything was perfect and it reminded me of being at my grandpas cabin as a kid!

Vacation with Kids

An interesting house with plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 young children. Beds were very comfortable. Foosball table and kids movies were a hit for downtime. Plenty of adventures within driving distance. Short walk to river and lake . Beautiful view of the lake.

Cozy stay, beautiful view

We stayed here for my aunts wedding. Very relaxing, cozy cabin. Bring a book or 2 to cuddle up to. Nice deck overlooking beautiful forest , stream and lake. Good side kitchen and bedrooms to host a group, extended family. Our dog loved exploring. We walked down to the sandy beach below, great views.

Amazing view, beach, kayaking and fishing!

We loved our stay at this property. So much privacy and beauty to take in! We loved kayaking on the Brule River and the nature experiences we had there. Walleyes were also plentiful about a mile upstream from the mouth of the river. There is no direct water access but the beautiful beach was only about about a 1/4 mile from the property. Our only complaint from this experience was that it was difficult for us to communicate with the owner and didn't receive check-in instructions until the day we left to go there with our family.

Anniversary celebration

We came here to celebrate our first anniversary with some friends and family. We were looking for a place on/near lake Superior with access to the water and a fire pit, as well as canoes/kayaks to go on the water with. We had a blast here, but we had a few concerns. This listing, even though it said it had a boat landing and canoes/kayaks, actually did not have either. We were told that we could rent canoes and kayaks from a place in Brule, which was a 30 minute drive south, and the boat landing was up the road a bit from the cabin. Otherwise, it was a great stay, we all had lots of fun, and we wish that the outhouse was nicer and not covered in bugs!

Great place to stay

We stayed in early September and had a wonderful time. The cabin was nicer and bigger than expected from the photos. The location was a little more remote than anticipated but you could not ask for much more in terms of scenery. There is a very long, dusty, gravel road to get to the property. Easy access to a great sand beach at Lake Superior and the Brule River. There is no AC which was difficult, and unexpected. Cell service (Verizon) was decent at the cabin but not in the areas around if you're venturing out. You should take everything you need with you as there are no easy places to pick things up within 30-40 minutes that we could find, and then no cell service to get there. All-in-all, a great place and well stocked with all of the essentials.

'Sconnie Retreat

Took an extended 4th of July weekend with our family and headed up to the top of Wisconsin and the mouth of the Brule River where it empties into Lake Superior. Views from the cabin are phenomenal. Cabin is a neatly appointed and well provisioned northern Wisconsin 'man cave' :-). Several displays of fishing/hunting trophies adorn the walls. The owners were very helpful in answering any questions we had regarding the property and things to do. The boys enjoyed the fishing and the canoeing on the Brule River. The beach on Lake Superior seemed to be a popular spot for vacationers. Lots of fun splashing around with the kids and our black lab. Many bike trails nearby and Bayfield/Madeline Island is less than 1 hour away. Recommend the fish fry at Kro Bar in Iron River! Had a great time and would recommend to friends that can appreciate the great Northern Wisconsin outdoors.

Great View - Large Space

Great for beach combers- easy walk from property to Brule River flowing into Lake Superior with large sandbar to explore. Stunning sunset views. House and furnishings rather rustic, no wifi, outhouse use encouraged but not required, beds are comfortable though. Lots of room - our family group of six adults had plenty of space and didn't even use the lower level.

A Wonderful Northern Getaway!

I brought a group of international exchange students for a Northern Experience. The first night we enjoyed a gorgeous winter sunset from the cozy living room as we got settled in. The rec room was great to keep the teens entertained, and we all enjoyed the games available to guests. The location was great, views, able to walk down to the lake to explore, quiet and relaxing. Short excursions to Duluth & State Parks for hiking and exploring. Would definitely recommend!

Jeanneane and I are highschool sweethearts that grew up together, which at that time was the small river town/farm town of Hastings MN. We both have a great love for the outdoors and everything it has to offer. Particularly the Brule River and Lake Superior. We were married at the picnic area at the mouth of the Brule River. Since that time, we have acquired several properties along the lower Brule River. It is our retirement goal to do what we love: to do our best and share the allure of the Brule River and Lake Superior with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

If you love the water, wide open spaces, adventure and friendly people, the Brule area is for you. The local people of Brule are very welcoming. The wildlife and adventure opportunity at the mouth of the Brule River is world class. 30 miles to the Ice Caves/Sea Caves. I tell my guests welcome to 'Wild America'. On any given day you are going to see deer, bear, bobcat, otter, beaver, wolf, coyote, fox, turkey, grouse, water fowl, eagles and birds of all kinds.

What makes this property unique

You can literally walk out the door to unlimited recreational opportunities. Whether you are into fishing, hunting, beach walking, swimming, hiking, Ice caves, Sea Caves, snowmobile & ATV route, canoeing, kayaking, bird watching, picture taking, outdoor adventure, bonfires, relaxing, sunsets or cabin life. This place has it all.
