Sunset House: Rustic Maine Cottage Perched High Above Fishing Village with Harbor Views
Sunset House rises to a nice height to watch people walking and Port Clyde Harbor humming. From its southwestward facing dinner deck, the home chef can enjoy cooking up a storm of local foods and fish from a kitchen that features old time cottage ambiance and a large table for guests to join in the camaraderie of summer friendships. The queen bedroom and twin bedded room across the hall. A modest shaded lawn to enjoy fresh ocean breezes. Full sun all day on the ocean facing deck. A Franklin wood stove in the living room for cool evening gatherings. Informal and fun, Sunset House will be in your memory months later. Many return year after year here. TV, wi-fi, landline telephone. Bring your bikes, you will love riding or walking the winding road along the shore where this summer place offers the peace, tranquility, and beauty your soul longs for in refreshment. As part of our rental application, we do ask for two references from previous rental companies/agents/homeowners etc.

Beautiful location and very relaxing. Close to the tiny fishing town with a few amenities. Easy drive to the larger towns for all other needs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our time here. It was comfortable, quiet and peaceful. The conveniences were nice too; dishwasher, washer/ dryer, good amount of fans and a full working kitchen for cooking.
Loved the property. Especially loved the walk in showers. Seemed like all new appliances. Very comfortable. The 2 living areas are nice and we liked being mostly on the second floor for the views! Thanks
Sunset House was everything we could have asked for and more - perfect walk to town location, outstanding views, spacious yet cozy house with room to spread out and room to gather, glorious deck and spacious back yard with fire pit and corn hole! Kitchen was charming and well supplied. We loved every minute and will definitely be back!
We enjoyed our stay. View of water was great. Unfortunately the week we stayed it was very foggy. House was very clean and well kept. Neat items (baskets, pots, pictures, books) through out the house. We liked the 2 living room areas. Great place to stay.

Our third year
Next year we return for the whole summer .......We love this house !!!
Within walking distance to Port Clyde general store, Monhegan ferry boat, and restaurants. Beautiful views from the deck. Plenty of comfortable seating, lots of room for entertaining although the cottage only sleeps 4. We’ve never stayed at a place which such a well equipped kitchen full of anything you might want for cooking in.
The Sunset house was the perfect place to spend our summer vacation. The views are stunning, the house was stocked as well as any rental I’ve seen, especially the kitchen. We appreciated all the little touches and the perfect balance of rustic and modern. Would highly recommend. Port Clyde is very quaint. The ice cream parlor was a nightly stop and the General Store has everything we needed.
We’ve stayed in Port Clyde for several years now for our week vacation and this was the first time in this property. It has a lovely living space. The kitchen is amazing and well equipped. The deck has wonderful view. The master bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The second bedroom is good for 2 children, but not enough space for two adults in our opinion. Despite that, we would return to this property.
This property is an ideal, spacious seaside cottage with views from almost every room. The kitchen was beautifully equipped and the whole house has a cozy vibe to it. We enjoyed board games, reading and most of all, hanging out on the upper deck - spectacular sunsets! The location is excellent; just a short walk down to the docks and village center. We found our stay here comfortable and relaxing - just great in every way! We would like to come back next year!
Sunset House was well equipped with all needs and many extras. The weather was chilly but our group enjoyed sunshine on the deck and a cozy fire in the wood stove. We wanted peace and quiet, and at this time of year, Port Clyde was the place for it.
We had a spectacular view of July 4th fireworks from the deck. Easy work to Port Clyde for ice cream. Just enough backyard for children to run around a bit. It was a last-minute choice and the house worked out very well for us.
