Nestled on Baldwin Avenue, this two bedroom cottage provides convenient and comfortable air conditioned accommodations, comfy queen sized beds and a/c units in each bedroom, with the amenities of Historic Paia Town and Paia Bay just a 5 to 10 minute walk away. Baldwin and Baby Beach just beyond and all areas of the island within easy driving distance. Ho'okipa and Kanaha are short drives in either direction. The cottage offers a fenced and gated yard area, shared with my one bedroom cottage (VRBO#457533) private parking, coastal style decor, fully equipped kitchen, ample space for your surf/windsurf gear, laundry area, and an outdoor covered lanai set up for island style dining. Beach chairs and beach towels are provided. Paia is a reflection of its history as a booming sugar cane plantation town with its old plantation style wooden buildings still intact. This quaint little beach town has an array of fine specialty shops, boutiques, surf shops, antique stores, bakeries, and even an old fashioned tattoo parlor. Award wining restaurants offer everything the discerning diner could want from casual bites, to the full service internationally renowned seafood of Mama's Fish House. Mana Foods, the legendary hip little grocery store built on local, organic principals is five minutes walk. They have a great prepared food bar, including soup and salad. Your hosts have lived on the North Shore for many years. They are both active members of the North Shore community and can provide access to resources and hidden treasures that are simply unavailable to regular tourists. Whether you want to charge the winter surf at Ho'okipa, meander through the Upcountry meadows, explore the idyllic waterfalls of East Maui or indulge your tropical golfing fantasies, your hosts will ensure you have the local know-how to get the most out of your trip.Getting Around Paia is the perfect starting place for day trips around the island. A car is necessary if you plan on sightseeing. We do have a bus that takes you to locations around the island but you will miss some of the islands most popular attractions. The Maui Bus stop is about a 10 minute walk from the property. If you want to try something different from the resort and touristy part of the Island, this is it!

This 2 bedroom cottage is perfect if you are looking for quiet relaxation and an easy walk into town. The beds are comfortable, the house is cool and breezy, and Jaque is easy to communicate with. Hope to be back!

Short walks to the market, to a wonderful breakfast spot just up the hill, to Old Paia, to the beach. Central location made doing the Hana Road, going up Haleakala, getting to Kihei/Wailea, and 'I ao Valley, all very convenient.Quiet, set back from a semi-main road which has little traffic at night. Thanks for the high chair and port-a-crib, very helpful.

Amazing cottage in Paia!
We had such a fantastic time in Paia and the cottage was perfect for our family of 3! Very close to stores, restaurants, and tasty coffee shops. And not much further to walk to the beach! Highly recommend staying here for an "at home" feel but still enjoy everything Maui has to offer. Great location and the host was very kind and helpful.

Our family of four loved our stay in Paia. The cottage was great and had everything we needed. It was just a short walk to downtown with lots of cute shops and restaurants. It was also a great starting spot for the Road to Hana and the Haleakala summit. Definitely recommend!

Peaceful and well kept cottage
The cottage was very well kept and made us feel like we were right at home. The location is great and within walking distance of lots of restaurants and beaches. If we return to Maui this will be the first place we look to stay. We highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Maui.

The online photos were misleading. In actuality, you walk into a unit with concrete floors and what appears to be not great thrift shop furnishings. (The pictures show some different furniture and a rug). I felt every day like I was walking into a garage that someone turned into a cottage. If the photos were more accurate, I would have booked elsewhere. On the plus side, it was super close to everything the town had to offer.

Clean, airy, well-appointed cottage on the edge of downtown Paia. Within walking distance of a great grocery store and numerous good restaurants. Paia has a funky hip surfer vibe. Conveniently located to access all parts of the island.

Pa’ia cottage
Location is walking distance from the restaurants and shops in town. The cottage is conveniently located off of the main road. Nice to hear crickets at night, rained almost every evening. Wake up to the sounds of mourning doves cooing and roosters crowing each morning. Enjoyed the country feel while on vacay.

My partner and I loved everything about this unit. Great little cottage
Jacque hosted us in her cute little cottage. There were two couples in our party and the space was a good size for us. The space was spotless when we arrived and we were able to get in a bit earlier than the usual check in time, which was helpful due to our arrival time to the island. We got to the island in the midst of about a week of rain storms, which resulted in some water issues. But Jacque and Danny were very responsive to the issue and it was resolved quickly. Jacque also gave some good recommendations for farmers market and places to eat. There are only two small things that were missing and needed. Not enough coffee mugs or wine glasses for the four of us. But other than that the kitchen was well equipped. We would not hesitate to rent again from Jacque. She was a terrific host!

We rented the cottage for a longer working visit to Maui, but unfortunately had to find a different place when we discovered the internet wasn't fast enough for us to work from the cottage (we'd emailed with the owner before booking, but there was some confusion about what the internet service offered in the area vs. what they actually have in the the cottage, which is basic DSL). However, the owner was very understanding and let us leave as soon as we were able to find alternative last-minute lodgings that met our needs. It's a cute little cottage -- very basic, nothing fancy, but thoughtfully provisioned, with little touches like a bucket of rag towels for messes and tablecloths for the indoor and outdoor tables. I personally really dislike 100% polyester sheets, which the beds both had, but I understand some people don't mind. It wouldn't be a great place for two couples that want privacy at night, as you want to keep your doors open at night to get the AC into your room. That said, it's nice and quiet at night for good sleeping. Overall I'd definitely recommend the cottage as a great spot to stay in Paia, where there aren't many places to actually stay in town. Being able to walk into town easily to enjoy the shops and restaurants and music is lovely.

Prior to moving to Maui in 1999, we lived in Kailua on Oahu and then spent 9 years in Waimea on the Big Island. The North Shore of Maui provides all the activities we enjoy from golf and tennis to biking and walking the beach. We have embraced Maui's slow pace and laid back lifestyle. We love to travel and have stayed in many private vacation rentals so know the importance of providing a comfortable and friendly environment. We recently retired from our long time careers as contractor and realtor and are now managing and maintaining our vacation rental business.

Historic Paia Town is situated on the edge of Paia Bay and provides a location and vibe not found in any other town in Maui. Our property provides the perfect location to walk to the beach and all the wonderful restaurants and boutiques. This is all about location, location, location!

What makes this property unique

We bought our property and developed it into 3 plantation style cottages, in keeping with the architectural design of the town and era. 2 of the cottages are in a fenced and gated setting and provide a very 'island vibe' that visitors will enjoy as much as we do. It is very laid back and yet the island and coastal decors of the cottages provide comfort and beauty.
