About this property

The Resort at Gulf Shores Plantation

Our whole unit has been redone with new cabinets & appliances and some new flooring.

Views, views, views! This unit has beautiful views in every direction. The sugar white beach with natural sand dunes and sea oats, the sound of the calling sea gulls, all contribute to the appeal of this gulf front unit. No streets to cross-located right on the beach. Our condo is bright and airy with side windows that allow for great vistas. Drink your coffee on the balcony and enjoy the sparkling gulf waters.

We have a gated community with 24 hour on-site security. Our first floor, one bedroom, one bath unit is cute, clean, and comfortable. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom with a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. There is a single bed large enough for a child in the hallway. There are two flat screen TVs with cable. Linens are provided with the unit but bring your own beach towels. Towels are provided once. They are not changed out daily. There are washers and dryers steps away in the hall. Outdoor barbecue grills are available throughout the complex.

WIFI is available in the condo. There are six pools with one heated outdoor pool (early spring and fall) and an indoor pool and hot tub that makes swimming available year-round. Our unit has a view of the one beachside pool. Indoor and outdoor spas, lighted tennis courts, a Pickleball Court, putting green, exercise room, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, and shuffleboard round out a list of activities available at our condo.

For those who like their food really fresh, fishing off the beach or in Mobile Bay located across from the Resort’s entrance may provide you with dinner. Depending on the time of year, there are kayaks, Parasailing, and beach chair rentals. World-class Kiva Dunes Golf Course is next door. Kiva Dunes is a nationally ranked golf course. Sassy Bass is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner located at the bottom of the high rise. It has a new outdoor bar and seating area.

A short drive provides a variety of seafood and steak restaurants, Tanger Outlet Shopping Mall, OWA amusement park, Waterville Water Park, Putt Putt, go carts, Deep Sea Fishing, and many more golf courses such as Arnold Palmer’s Cotton Creek. History buffs may want to tour Fort Morgan jut down the road. As you can see, your stay at the Resort can be laid back and relaxing or activity filled and energizing. The choice is yours.

So Relaxing, So Easy

I enjoyed this place very much, It was so nice to just go up about 6 steps or so and be at the door. No elevators to deal with at all! I stayed here traveling back and forth between here and home (300 miles away) for the month of October. It was nice being able to keep my things in the room, ready for my return. The condo was very clean, smaller, but all that I needed. I hope to be able to stay here again.

Sweet family trip

A bit small but nice

Overall stay was great. Condo was a bit small but not too bad. I was a bit difficult identifying the property until you get out of your vehicle and walk up the steps. We would definately stay here again. Property was very clean and beds where comfort table.

My mom and I enjoyed our stay. We found everything to be clean, comfortable and as advertised. Instructions were very clear and helpful. Location was excellent and easy to get to beach, although we only got to go twice due to weather. Would rent again.

Great for a short getaway.

The property was as advertised. Great location at the beach. Walking distance to restaurant and bar. The bedroom mattress wasn't comfortable for us but that's personal preference. Would consider staying again if available.

Very nice place will stay again!

The owners were super kind and the place was perfect for our family! Super nice and super clean and will stay here again. Had a beach view and was nice. The only down was the pools(owners have no control) but they were closed due to renovations and electrical and our two year old had no where to swim. But other than that everything was we great! Beach access is good and had all the comforts of home.

Fabulous location

If you are looking for a quiet place right on the beach, this is it. It really is a great location. And it’s exactly as described. But make sure you look at how many square feet because the pics make it look bigger. Also the laundry facility only takes quarters so make sure you have some if you want to wash your clothes. It’s a great unit and when the pool is finished right outside the door, it will be even better.

Nice rental

Cute rental with needed amenities. The sleeper sofa is comfortable. Pools are easily accessible. No problems encountered. Contact with owner was great. Recommend this rental for a family of 3 or 4 due to it being a smaller, but great, unit.

Perfect location

Condo was small, but clean and in the most perfect location with wonderful views. Whole complex was safe and secure and well kept up. The beach was wonderful too. We enjoyed our month at the Plantation. Thank You!

Cleanliness lacking

The cleanliness of this property had a lot to be desired. The property smelled when we arrived. There were dead bugs in the windowsill, dust on the furniture, and cobwebs in the corner of the sliding doors. The couch was musty and smelly. There was no blackout curtain on one of the windows in the bedroom, so the room shine bright throughout the night. We left a day early because our family was so uncomfortable.

Nice place

Pros: payment and check-in process was very easy, clean, poolside. Cons: kitchen unfurnished (no salt, pepper, cooking spray or spatula), toilet didn’t flush completely, patio holds water, poolside. My family stayed five nights in this unit. Prefilled parking paperwork made the initial check in a breeze. Changed and hit the beach before noon. I really appreciated not having to drive back into Gulf Shores to check in or sign paperwork at 4:00pm, which I’ve had to do with other properties we’ve stayed at in GSP in the past, that’s one of the big benefits of renting from the owner rather than a big property manager. Keyless lock was very convenient and easy to use the entire trip. Unit was clean and well taken care of. AC blew cold. The unit is right next to the pool, so I had no hesitation sending my two boys to swim in the pool as I could still keep an eye on them. A couple of issues we had during the trip. It was pretty tight for space with four people and luggage, but we made it work. The patio held water all day after a rain, so you can’t go in and out to sit and read without tracking water in. The toilet didn’t flush very well, so we had to flush multiple times every time someone used it. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn’t work so we couldn’t pull out steam from the shower. The kitchen was not fully stocked. We ate most of our meals at the unit, which is why we rent a condo rather than a hotel as it is not feasible to eat out every single meal an entire week. We made due without but a spatula, cooking spray and salt/pepper would have been nice. Observation: it was usually 10:30pm or so before it calmed down around the pool, thankfully my son who was sleeping on the pullout couch is a hard sleeper. Suggestions: A ceiling fan or box fan in the bedroom would be a nice addition. Also some ice trays to make more ice for coolers while at the beach.

Good family spot

Our stay was good for our little family. It’s a 12 mile drive to town but it is quiet and peaceful. We had issues with flies and gnats during our stay. Other than that, we enjoyed it very much.

Our overall stay was amazing. The only issue we had were the guest in the room directly above us. They allowed their child to run up and down the hallway all throughout the night. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever.

Gulf Shores Getaway.

Excellent location. Views were beautiful from balcony. Pool side and ocean views. The only questionable issues were the excessive noise from the upstairs and next door units. The noise from the upstairs tenants was very loud and disturbing for much of the day, everyday....sometimes to 11PM. Parking was great. New door lock worked great. All windows needed washed. We could hardly see out of them. Sofa was not comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Very limited storage.
