Best of Times Beach House is well-equipped with charm, gulf breezes, comfortable furnishings, and all the luxuries of home. This Pirates Beach cottage is perfect for family vacations.
Relax on the large decks, dine on the shady bottom patio, or take a short walk to the beach for sun, sand and surf.
Cook dinner in the well-equipped kitchen or follow the tips in the Best of Times Beach House guide book and try the locals' favorite restaurants.
Best of Times is 2 blocks to the beach. Your family will fall in love with prestigious Pirates Beach and its peaceful, private beaches. It is just beautiful here.
Galveston's laid-back island vibe will ensure your family will relax and make memories. Enjoy Schitterbahn and Moody Gardens, both just minutes away. Learn about Galveston's history through the many museums, or shop the eclectic boutiques on the Strand.
The house has everything you need to relax, including an outdoor shower, patio furniture on both decks and the huge patio, a well-stocked kitchen with brand new, top-of-the-line appliances, and a large flat screen tv with dvd.
When you are ready for the beach, it’s a short walk away! Beach toys, and life jackets are provided for fun in the sun. Our family home is kid-friendly and pet-friendly (Pets require a separate $100 fee), but it is non-smoking.

Taste of spring break

Did a long weekend/short week stay for spring break. House was perfect for 4 of us and the dog. Short walk to the beach, luckily the property had a wagon to borrow along with chairs. Washer/dryer was fantastic and had all the amenities for home away from home. Will look to stay again.

Great getaway

We have 2 adults and 5 kiddos and the place was great. I would recommend if you have littles to rent the golf cart makes carrying all the beach tools so much easier. The communication with the owner was great as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at Best of Times. The location is very convenient, just a short walk to the beach and a short drive to get back into town. The neighborhood was clean and quiet, the house was clean, everything worked as expected, the kitchen was well stocked. We highly recommend Best of Times!

Family weekend

Wonderful home and location!! Loved the neighborhood/area. This house has everything you need. Kitchen was well stocked, lots of outdoor equipment available to use, plus it was a very short walk to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our family weekend away. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything and the Kitchen Sink

We looked at a lot of beach houses before deciding to book this one because of its great reviews and included supplies—fishing poles and gear, crabbing supplies, yard games, tons of beach gear, coolers, board games, lots of towels, a golf cart, and lots more. Our kids had a blast, and we saved so much money from using their supplies. We highly recommend this rental!

It was the best of times!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with sand, salt, sea, and some sunshine. The house was perfect for our needs; kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we only had to bring the food! Very cozy home and being able to bring our fur babies was also an added bonus. The outdoor area was great for us and the dogs. We grilled and used the chiminea for roasting marshmallows. My kids loved the outdoor shower concept so much that’s where they showered. Also a huge bonus as they were sandy. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable and the deck was perfect for morning coffee. We had a wonderful time full of memories and happiness. Our kids are 3 and 7 and cannot wait to go back. The beach area is private so there weren’t too many people and no vehicles which was perfect. We aren’t sure who was more tired, the kids or the dog who all loved the ocean. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. Thank you for providing such a lovely place to stay! We will be back!

The owners clearly try very hard to ensure families that stay here have everything they need, from games to beach supplies. They also self manage and are quick to answer questions and provide help if needed.

This house was perfect for our Girls Trip. I also rented the golf cart. It is really slow and not much power but it got us to the beach and back. Just a note to include more than one TP roll for each bathroom.

Our week at Best of Times was fantastic! The house has a beach vibe and is extremely comfortable. There are beach pails and every toy or game you could want for fun on the beach or playing indoors! Inside, all drawers and cupboards are labeled so everything is easy to find. The owners even provide a beautiful tour guide as well as flyers and other info regarding Galveston sights and eateries! Simply an amazing beach house!!!!

Excellent Vacation Home

Our family of 7 stayed here for a week. The home was very clean. They thought of everything as we didn't need for anything other than groceries. There are tons of sand toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, an umbrella and a wagon to cart it down to the beach. We received a welcome email with information and distances/times to get to attractions which was really nice since this is our first trip to Texas. The beach is so close to the home and easy to walk to. The beds were very comfortable! I highly recommend renting this wonderful home for your next vacation!

It was perfect!

What a great vacation home!! This beach house has everything we needed for a great relaxing, comfortable beach getaway. Great place for adults both older and young adults and great if you have small kids also. Lots of activities to do at the house just hanging out and more than enough beach gear options and toys for any age. The neighborhood is so nice and house is a minimal walking distance to sand, My young adult kids loved playing table tennis in the evening and I loved relaxing on the porch swings. The couches and beds were incredibly comfortable too! Will definitely be back! Very responsive property managers as well with any and every questions I had both before and during stay.

Cozy home for a rainy stay

We didn’t anticipate a drastic temperature drop and perpetual rain when we booked this vacation, but the dreary weather was the only drawback to our stay. The home is full of beach touches and all amenities were easy to find and thoughtfully gathered and labeled. Access to the beach was easy and the nearby stores and eateries marked on the fridge. We enjoyed our cozy stay in and the easy access to downtown Galveston for all the tourist attractions. We will definitely return in a warmer month to take advantage of the beach toys and the cozy outdoor spaces and take In more sea air. All parties were charmed and happy here.

Perfect location for many reasons.

Very close to the beach, far enough outside of town where it’s quiet, far enough off the main road you don’t hear the traffic and plenty of space for a group of friends. The house was well supplied with everything you need. Everything is even labeled so you know exactly where everything is. The owner is very friendly and is there for you whenever you need or if you have any questions. I would highly recommend this house this location for any event and hope to get to use it again same time next year!

Perfect BFF get away

From the moment we drove up and saw the porch and hammocks we were blown away by all the amenities this property offered. It was absolutely perfect for our mom friend group to have a wonderful relaxing few days to celebrate the end of summer. Close to the beach and just enough distance from the tourists. Would highly recommend for families as well. Fully stocked kitchen, games and activities for everyone, and golf cart to the beach. Perfection!

The Best Time

Renting the golf cart was the best decision. Made it so easy to haul stuff to and from the beach. The house was so clean and well stocked. Lots of sand toys, beach games, a wagon, boogie boards, towels and more. Everything you need for the beach was provided. We had the best time at this beach house with our family.

Best of Times was the Best of Times!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best of Times beach house! After many visits to many beach houses, we can say this is the most well-stocked house we have ever stayed in! The owners' offering of games, puzzles, extra towels, grill accessories, and beach toys is amazing! There is even an information booklet made by the owners. This book includes not only instructions for the house but also lists places to go, fun things to do and the best places to eat, even a history of the island!!!!! I am a BOI (born on island) and grew up in Galveston, just a few miles from Pirates Beach. After moving to Houston and marrying a Midwesterner (and having four kids!), we have rediscovered how enchanting Galveston is. Through years of family vacations, all of us have fallen in love with Galveston.
Dreams really do come true! In 2013, our family discovered Best of Times, the perfect family beach house. Now, we are so excited to share it with YOUR family.
Our kids have lots of energy and busy schedules. Galveston is the perfect place for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of suburbia and enjoy each other. We are a Christian family, who would love to share this blessing with you.
We hope you also discover this beach house is perfect for making family memories. We hope you can reconnect with the people you love the most. We hope you can find your own Best of Times.

Why they chose this property

Best of Times is the perfect size. We go to the beach to relax, but we also go to be together. The large, open family room and dining area lets us enjoy each other. The three bedrooms and two baths gives us plenty of room to spread out.
Our family loves Pirates Beach. Ice cream trucks come by every afternoon, golf carts carry families and groups of friends to the beach, and dog-walkers and shell-seekers wave from the quiet streets below our deck.
The house is a short drive to the island's most interesting attractions; yet, it's far enough from the city that we can relax.

What makes this property unique

The large lower deck is shaded and has a refrigerator to keep your drinks cool. We also have toys and chairs for you to take to the beach.
We welcome pets, with some restrictions.
