Description:
This lovely house is only yards from the majestic Pacific Ocean with the famous Sea Ranch Ocean Front Trail steps away from the front door. Located on a quiet cul de sac, it is the perfect place for a family or a few friends to relax and unwind while taking in the beauty and tranquility of The Sea Ranch. Two bedrooms are each furnished with a king size bed and a roll away. There are two full baths, one entered through the Master Bedroom and the other adjacent to the 2nd bedroom. Other amenities include, fully equipped kitchen, charcoal BBQ, washer / dryer, Direct TV, and wireless. There is an enclosed patio area around the front and side of the house and a large deck with unobstructed views of the ocean off of the back. Guests are welcome to use the parking passes and passes to the three Club Houses located throughout The Sea Ranch offering Tennis, Swimming, and Saunas. The highly acclaimed Sea Ranch 18 hole Golf Links is Golf Course only minutes from The Pelican House. The Sea Ranch is also world famous for its access to Abalone Diving for those brave AB Divers out there!

The three of us, and a dog, spent 6 days over the Ner Year at Pelican House. We loved the location and the viewl. The bedding and towels were very comfottable and we were imoressed with the cleanliness of the house.We would definitely rent Pelican House again.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

The house was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The location is wonderful with beautiful trails and views. Nice to have a pet friendly option in such a nice setting. The check-in process and other communications were friendly, helpful and easy. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Shower handle came off in my hand, Heater was not working on arrival, Tech came out the next day. Fire place insert remote had low batterie's preventing high heat setting upon arrival on a cold raining late afternoon. Had to call for key location as it was not in the advertised location. No dish rags or hot pads in the kitchen

Really good communications with Linda, our host. It was a perfect way to experience Sea Ranch with it’s outstanding location at the north end of the property close to Gualala. The house was warm & cozy with a well equipped kitchen but both bathrooms need updating, especially the shower heads.

Great Location and had a Relaxing Stay

Stayed 5 nights and had a very restful and relaxing time. Home is close to the ocean with a great view and a short walk to the ocean. Clean and comfortable. Nice towels and home is well equipped. Also nice being close to Gualala. Two minor issues - the house key was in a different place that what was communicated to us. Not a problem, a quick call cleared this up. And....no hair dryer. Listing shows hair dryer included. We had to buy one for 21 in town since if you are female (and some males as well) you definitely need a hair dryer. Small issues compared to the overall nice stay we had. Home is currently for sale. If it remains a vacation rental we would definitely consider renting again.

The home is a very comfortable home with an ocean view. It is off the bluff trail, but just a short walk to the tail. Our time their was very relaxing.

Very Lovely Home

It was a wonderful home and setting for my wife and I to celebrate our 62nd wedding anniversary. The kitchen was excellent and well equipped as was the rest of the house.

Lovely stay at Pelican House

Pros: The house is very comfortable and well decorated. If you’re looking for quiet isolation, look no farther! Great walks along the nearby cliff path. Gualala is just north of there and is a fun place to explore. It also has an amazing beach. Con: If you like to cook, we suggest you might want bring your own sauté pan.

Gorgeous location!

Great house! Excellent location! So close to bluff trails. We loved sitting on the large deck relaxing and watching the ocean and wildlife. Even had a fun visit from the sheep grazing. Loved it!

Great Location

A 5-minute walk to the bluff trail and great ocean views from the living room and bedrooms. Kitchen had everything you would need to cook - we made 5 days of varied meals .Comfy beds. Just a charming house. fy beds.

Comfortable single story home.

It is difficult to find a single story house in Sea Ranch without stairs. Pelican House is a comfortable, well stocked house with an ocean view that is perfect for a non wheelchair dependent person. It is in a great location close to the Bluff Trail.

Lovely stay

House close to Gualala . We enjoyed the clean one level house with expansive views .Simple but tasteful and comfortable .Two decks, one facing the ocean and another facing a pretty garden with hummingbirds . Two comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen . Rec center with pool and sauna were enjoyable . Also drop in pickleball at Moonraker center. Appreciated the prompt communication with Laura.

We have been coming to sea ranch for over 20 years and this is our first time staying by the golf course. The layout of the home was nice with bedrooms separate. The view was beautiful! The owner was very prompt in answering our questions. The only issue we had was that the 3 sliding doors did not have screens. If we left the doors open we had flys. Plus it was a warm week. I go to sea ranch for the cool breeze and the ocean sounds so not being able to leave the doors open was a negative for me. If that doesn’t bother you then you will enjoy this home.

Perfect Setting for a Tranquil Getaway

Pelican House helped the four of us relax and celebrate a close friend's birthday. We wanted to get away from the craziness during the week of the presidential election. We wanted peace and quiet, and Pelican House delivered. PROS: The view of the meadow and ocean was great. We watched wave crashing as deer grazed just feet away from the house. The two bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for the four of us. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had most things we needed to cook great meals. The appliances looked like new and cookware was fine for our needs. CONS were few and minor. The kitchen faucet is actually a bathroom faucet, it doesn't swivel or have a spray nozzle, it would have been nice to have a larger baking pan, and it would have been nice to have brighter lights in the open living space. All in all, it was one of our best stays at Sea Ranch.

Native to the California Bay Area, Ken and Laura Scheidegger today live in the California Delta where they own a family farm, farmers market and a restaurant. Ken is a PhD in Oceanography and headed the PhD program at Oregon State for many years. The location of The Pelican House offers Ken the perfect setting from which he can enjoy his true love ... the Sea.

Why they chose this property

Over the years the family has enjoyed The Sea Ranch and all of the joys that come with it. From Ab Diving to Golf ... the Scheideggers have built wonderful memories from their time at The Sea Ranch. The location of The Pelican House is one of the first developed and represents the best that The Sea Ranch has to offer. Busy lives have kept the family from visiting the house and it is time to share with others what they have so enjoyed over the years.

What makes this property unique

One of the finest locations in Sea Ranch! Only nature lies between you and the beautiful cliffs and majestic ocean of the The Sea Ranch coast. The Ocean Front Hiking Trail is seconds from the front door and the golf course is minutes away. The setting and layout of the property and house allow you to feel as though it is you and the Sea with nothing in between but indigenous grasses, plants, deer, and the occasional fox! Enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine on the spacious and open deck as you take in your unobstructed view of the ocean. Particularly in March and October, you will most likely see the grand whale migration! Pelicans effortlessly soar above the coastline inspiring a feeling of peace and serenity - we hope you will find this same feeling when you visit The Pelican House.
