Purple Juniper: Heart of Downtown, Sunny Front Deck

With the Purple Juniper as your home base in Durango, you will be able to park your car and walk everywhere in town. Walk four blocks and arrive at the heart of downtown with its restaurants, cafes, shops and the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

The Purple Juniper is an intimate and inviting half-duplex facing a quiet, sunny neighborhood street. It is cozy with an open floor plan and updated bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen and living room are connected by a granite island with three seats. Additional dining seating in warmer months is a four-seat table on the front deck. The bedrooms have a queen bed in one room and two twins in the second room. All beds are solid, plush and comfortable. A good night's sleep is key! Evaporative cooling in the Summer additionally provides for restful nights.

In addition to Main Avenue and downtown, walk several blocks to the Nature Trail and Sky Steps. The neighborhood is pedestrian and dog-friendly, and the block on which the Purple Juniper resides is especially quiet and peaceful.

Guests are welcome to bring two pups, provided they stay off of furniture and aren't big barkers. No cats (sorry). Note that immediately after booking, you will receive a brief rental agreement to review and sign with basic items such as no parties or events and pet authorization if applicable.

Two things to consider in deciding whether this home is ideal for your family. First, it is a cozy size of 650 SF total. Second, the Purple Juniper does not have a yard. There is a backyard, but it is dedicated to the other half of the duplex, which serves as an executive monthly rental. The Purple Juniper has dedicated use of the front deck. This arrangement allows for privacy, ease and predictability for each of the homes. It also means, however, that staying at the Purple Juniper with pups involves taking them out for walks, not an unpleasant task in the pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, but worth considering.

We had the perfect stay at Purple Juniper! Such a lovely, safe neighborhood and an easy walk to so many shops and restaurants downtown. Victoria was the perfect host, so easy to communicate with and willing to get us anything we needed our entire stay. The residence has an impressive and generous stock of every kitchen and pantry staple you could imagine, truly the best of any rental we have ever stayed at. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of extra linens and towels.10/10!

This was a very comfortable and cozy place had everything you can imagine. The Kitchen was perfect and was lacking nothing. The only thing I would change is the TV was Very Small maybe 36" pretty hard to Watch a Movie. Other than that I would stay there again anytime.

Had a great stay- easy walk into town. Was a bit worried that it would be noisy with street traffic etc being so close to downtown but it was very quiet. Nice sunny front porch and the steps path up to Fort Lewis Campus are just a couple blocks down the street. There is a second unit in the other half of the house with separate entrance. Parking on the street was plentiful. The host Bictoria was absolutely prompt about staying in touch with me to answer questions. Kitchen had plenty of dishes and cookware.

Our son attends Ft Lewis College and we love the downtown area. We were able to be the stop between school and home for our son. Plus we were able to walk anywheer downtown. perfext size for the two of us and our fur baby. Kitchen is well stocked and the heated bathroom floor was a wonderful surprise! Victoria is an amazing host!

Great location close to Main Street in a quiet neighbourhood. House is exactly as described and is a wonderful spot to take a short vacation break. Very clean, very well stocked kitchen. And the communication was amazing, had a few questions before the trip, and all were answered promptly and with care. Thank you, we will be back!

Awesome Stay in Durango!
We loved our time at the Purple Juniper! Super cozy and clean for our family of 4 and one pup. The owner was so kind to reach out to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed after we checked in. The check out process was also amazing as Victoria wants you to enjoy your morning and not do too many chores for check out! That was refreshing and relaxing! Perfect place in Durango!
Our trip to Durango was amazing and Purple Juniper was the perfect place to stay! I've stayed in many VRBO properties and Purple Juniper is one of the best. This place is absolutely adorable and has everything you need for your stay. This trip was myself, my husband and my two teenage kids. Purple Juniper worked well for us because there were two bedrooms and the second bedroom my kids stayed in had two twin beds so nobody had to sleep on the couch. Purple Juniper is the front unit of this duplex. We had the front porch and the other unit had use of the backyard. We spent every evening hanging out on the porch. It was nice and quiet. We met the people staying in the other unit as they use the front porch to access their front door. They were the nicest people and we talked with them every day. Purple Juniper is a couple blocks from Main St. We easily walked down to Main St where all the shops and restaurants are. The unit was very clean and well put together. The owner, Victoria, is amazing. She checks in on you and makes sure everything is going well. It was refreshing because sometimes you never hear from a VRBO owner or manager. You just show up and hope the place is actually there. lol. There was plenty of parking. We parked right in front of the unit every day. We also saw a deer right on the property! Being from AZ we don't see that kind of stuff. I highly recommend Purple Juniper. We will definitely be staying again next time we come to Durango.

Perfect Escape: VRBO's Charm and Comfort Combined
Excellent location for a Durango stay. I was able work during the day both on the bar inside and the outdoor porch area. The walk to downtown is so easy and convenient. AND very quiet. Victoria was the perfect host, she made sure all the essentials and BEYOND were available, even checked in during my stay to ensure all needs were being met. My son is a FLC student, he popped in before and after classes, making the location perfect for those visiting students. The furniture and bed were very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking and dining items you need. I really enjoyed sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine watching the neighbors walk by. The Purple Juniper will be my go-to stay in Durango.
