What an adorable inn! Our host was very helpful and responded quickly to emails. Our room was extremely clean and we really appreciated all the special touches - toiletries, complimentary snacks/water, games, and the pig theme throughout the inn. We would definitely stay here again!
We were delighted to stay in the comfortable "blue room" at Jeff and Diane's home. The accommodations were perfect for an overnight stay on our way to a week at Ocracoke Island. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and provided light snacks and beverages during our visit. The location is perfect for walking around the historic district in Washington. We will return.
Very clean, beautifully furnished, in keeping with historical home but updated bathrooms. Very welcoming hosts, a quiet, very relaxing atmosphere. Very thoughtful hosts to have a mini frig with bottled water and creamers on hand for the keurig/snack area in the hallway. Keep in mind the rooms are on second floor only. Will stay there again!
The inn itself is lovely: peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming; and the owners are positive, kind, and responsive. Their cats add to the charm. Wonderful!
We just returned from our stay at When Pigs Fly Inn and it was perfect. The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable - and super quiet. Jeff was super nice and made everything easy for us, from check-in to checking out. We loved the house - it's truly gorgeous. And we also enjoyed meeting the cats! We hope to stay at When Pigs Fly Inn again soon!!
Our hosts were very communicative from the start. The check-in was simple and the home was lovely inside and out. Our bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. There is a great porch and garden area outside. The house was also a very short walk to the waterfront and Main St. where there are shops, restaurants, and a couple of breweries. The room was very reasonably priced and we will return!
Really easy to get to and Jeff was excellent to talk with about our stay. All communication with the owner was upbeat and excepting. It was a historical place, with the decor fitting to the historical house, yet, updated enough to be comfortable and accessible to our needs.
We were fortunate enough to stay with Jeff before the Tropical storm that hit last weekend. When Pigs Fly is elegant and relaxed. We made new friends with a couple stranded with their sailboat by the coming storm. We heard that Jeff and other townspeople worked to find housing for them. Friendly people, grest hosts and a wonderful little gem of a town on the Inner Banks. Go out of your way to stsy here!
This lovely Edwardian home is in my hometown in North Carolina on the beautiful Pamlico River. Decades ago I was frequently a guest there when it was a private home. I have stayed here with my husband and family members several times since it became a rental property. It is a lovely living history trip back in time. It is exquisitely preserved and furnished with period appropriate pieces and charming eclectic art items. The hosts are dears and are attentive but don’t “hover” about making you feel smothered. Beds are large and comfortable, baths are immaculate and well stocked with toiletries. Perfect location in the historic district. Walk everywhere.
We enjoyed our weekend stay! This lovely home is much like visiting a great aunt. The home was eclectic in its decor, kind in its manner and welcoming in its spirit. While this Inn does not boast of fine things that break or areas you don’t touch, it does boast of sweet sitting spots, comfortable rooms & an “at home” feel. “When Pigs Fly” adjusted easily to our needs.
We came to Washington for a wedding and were in and out a lot, but it held us close when we had pockets of time to pause, rest, and read. The water is a simple block away with shopping, eating & parks at your fingertips! Washington gave us a bite of Beaufort & taste of Charleston! This is the next “hot spot” in eastern NC. Thanks so much! We will be back.
We had one night in Washington during a road trip and found this awesome spot. Rooms were comfortable and creatively appointed. Everything was easy from booking to check-in to check- out. Hosts were fractious and helpful in suggesting restaurants and other sights. Only wish we had booked a longer stay!!
Great communication, easy in, easy out.
Jeff and Linda were perfect hosts.
Available and happy to share experience with the town and sites. Made you feel right @ home. Would highly recommend this Inn.
We will be back and with friends.
Such a great long weekend ay When Pigs Fly. Rooms were clean and spacious. Jeff and Linda were wonderful and answered all of our questions whether it was about the B&B or the area. We’ll definitely be back!

About the host

Linda and I looked all over North Carolina to find a small scenic town to settle in. We found our perfect home and want to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
This house has a rich history that is woven into the fabric of the town. We recently had a reception of sorts, inviting as many previous owners of the house as we could find. Wonderful people. Made us proud to be in such special company, all who share a love and respect of this stately home. Hope you can come see it for yourself. It's much more than just a house.
What makes this property unique
You can park your car when you arrive and not get it again until you leave. So much of what you'd come to Washington waterfront, the stores, the all within walking distance. So relaxing.
