This was an excellent location for access to the entire park, and we covered a good portion of it. The fall color was great when we went and the park was not as crowded. No reservations were needed for Going-to-the-Sun Road this late in the season, but open restaurants were few and far between so we fixed a lot of meals at the cabin.
This beautiful cabin was the perfect place for our trip to Glacier National Park. The roomy 2 bedroom cabin gave us plenty of space and provided ideal sleeping arrangements for our family of 4. We were less than 10 minutes from the park entrance and enjoyed the quiet semi-seclusion at the end of a long day.
During our time at Glacier, we delighted in being able to go “home” to the cabin. The kitchen (and coffee!!) was outfitted so we could make all of our meals. The laundry was new and fast! We were able to come home with minimal dirty clothes! Our family of 4 never ran out of hot water.
We recommend staying here on your next glacier visit!!
A sweet cabin tucked away, quiet and surrounded by greenery. It’s only 7 miles from Glacier. Provided us a great place to prepare our own meals and to relax after long days exploring the park. We will definitely be returning.
This was the perfect cabin to vacation at for the week. It was very close to the west entrance of Glacier and a beautiful drive to the other Glacier entrances. We enjoyed sitting on the deck playing cards and reading while watching the birds and deer too. Dave was an excellent host and responded quickly with all of our questions.
House was well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed making s'mores on the fire pit and using the grill to cook dinner. We will definitely be back. Minutes away from the west entrance to Glacier.
Nice little cabin very near the West Glacier Park entrance. Very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed having a nice outdoor fire pit as well as the outdoor grill to cook supper. The kitchen was fully stocked with all items needed for making meals.
The cabin was very cute, clean and secluded. The pictures didnt do it justice. Dave was very helpful when we had issues with our initial email getting deleted. The beds were comfy. We will stay again if we make it back.
We really enjoyed the cabin, the beds were comfy, the kitchen was decently stocked, and the location was excellent in relation to park entrance. The photos on the listing are not updated and things were even better in person. New furniture, 2nd bedroom has twin over full bunk plus another twin bed. Nice washer and dryer. One downside was the poor internet…it’s located at the house next door. It’s not ideal if you need to log on for work or download anything. Overall, it was wonderful!
This cabin was perfect and exceeded my families expectations! It is so close to the West Glacier Entrance (7 miles) but with a country cabin feel. It had everything we needed. We prepped breakfast each day and grilled two of the evenings while there. The kids enjoyed playing yard dice and we enjoyed drinks on the back deck. It really is perfect if you are wanting to spend a lot of time in GNP. Great host and great communication.
This cabin was well stocked with the essentials. It was a good location to access The Park, maybe 10 minutes or so. They do ask you to remove your own garbage bags, which I’ve never had when I stay somewhere. It posed a challenge for us to find somewhere to put it, as the noted drop off station was closed when we left the cabin. Otherwise it was very accommodating. I did not have any communication with the property manager, as it was not needed.
One of my sons dubbed this beautiful little cabin 'Paradise.' And that's what it was. There was just enough space for the five of us. The cabin is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood full of trees. We loved waking up to the sound of birds and the breeze blowing through the leaves. We even saw a few deer. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin, which had basic cooking utensils and spices - everything we needed, including a griddle, for our simple meals. The grill was in good repair and surprisingly clean. The entrance to the national park was only 10-15 minutes up the road, which was super convenient. We loved watching the hummingbird get his daily drinks off the back porch and we loved sitting on the porch swing.
The pictures at least when we booked are now inaccurate as the property owner has purchased new furniture. The dining table only seats 4 instead of the 6 pictured. There is a twin over double bunk bed and a twin bed instead of queen and twin pictured in the listing. The bedrooms are switched to accommodate the larger bunk bed, so the room with just a queen bed has no closet or storage space for suitcases (which was fine for us as we kept our suitcases in the main living area).
Having stayed at many rentals over our years exploring various national parks, we will be staying at this paradise cabin again.
Great communication with the owner. Perfect cabin for two adults, but also would be great for two or three children. Loved that it is off the highway and quiet. We used the outdoor fire pit and loved it! We roasted marshmallows every time that we had a fire. The cabin is only 5 or six miles from Hungry Horse, which has great coffee and a grocery.
Perfect spot for commuting to Glacier west entrance. Cabin was nice and all necessary items provided. Owner responded immediately after our arrival with check in instructions that hadn’t been sent. A couple of housekeeping issues…refrigerator needed some cleaning, coffee grounds were left in the coffee maker from the previous guest and bathroom and kitchen towels were still in the dryer. Overall I would definitely stay here again if visiting Glacier NP.

About the host
Hosted by Dave Wicks
Dave Wicks originally purchased our amazing home away from home in 2011. The original owners kept a couple acres and built an adorable 900 sq ft cabin so that they could return any time they wanted...(it is hard to stay away!!) Luckily for us, they have decided to sell this, too. Now we own both. You can rent one or the other or both. It has plenty of trees in between for complete privacy.
Why they chose this property
The is the perfect get away cabin. It is very close to everything - Flathead Lake, Big Fork, Live Theater, Big Sky Waterslides, West Glacier, Lake McDonald, Hungry Horse Lake, Lions Head Lake, Lake Five, The Maze amusement center, Whitefish, hiking, white water rafting, horseback riding, helicopter rides...and more YET - it is located 1/2 mile off the main road in complete privacy.
What makes this property unique
We have a washer/dryer set in the bedroom, access to many different hiking trails and lakes, and privacy. We have had a grizzly, a black bear, loads of elk, deer, and hummingbirds. It just doesn't get any better than this!
