We couldn't decide if we wanted to stay in Taos or Santa Fe, and this was the perfect compromise! The home is STUNNING, spotless and well-appointed. The location is quiet and rural. The owner communicated with me quickly when the directions took us to the wrong address, and he was kind and so helpful.
We had 5 adults traveling as a family. 2 couples and our daughter. It would've been nice to have a 3rd bed for her versus a couch. We were close enough to Taos for skiing and to Ojo Caliente for soaking up the hot springs. The area is quiet and the home is spacious.

The owner is a liar saying we smoked in the house and he called and woke me up at 1230 am to say the lights were on. Now he says there is damage total crap!
The house is beautiful and unique. Clean, stocked with everything you could need for a home away from home. Greg was helpful, responsive, and flexible with us. Will stay here again.

Greg, our host, was the BEST host I have ever worked with!!!! He couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating!
This property is amazing! It is clean, beautiful, very different from the Midwest…I struggle to find appropriate words. I would highly recommend and hope to someday return.
We loved our stay at this very comfortable Adobe in Rio Arriba county. Greg was a super host and responded quickly to every message we sent. Very authentic Santa Fe style and drinking coffee on the spacious front porch watching the sun come up was exactly what we wanted. We made easy trips into Santa Fe and to the lavender farm and to the Georgia O’Keeffe Welcome Center and Abiquiu Inn for breakfast and dinner. Driving into the property have us a little pause because of being two women alone, but we felt perfectly safe upon arrival. Thanks Greg , we will recommend your beautiful place to anyone wanting to get out of the city and into the enchantment of Northern New Mexico.
This home is a beautiful blend of adobe and wood. It's in a quiet area with no traffic and a great view when sitting outdoors and we were lucky enough for a full moon. It is centrally located for day trips to many areas. I don't cook on vacation but--wow--what a kitchen if you do. Communication was great and check-in check-out were both quick and easy.
The property is a bit away from town and the location worked well for the hiking exploration and daytrips we made based from the rental. The house is very interesting and has a cool adobe vibe. The view east of the house is a small farm that adds nice ambience.
We absolutely can’t say enough nice things about this place and Greg! Check in was simple, the house is beautiful inside and so comfortable. The view off the veranda is stunning. Watched the sunrise, a full rainbow appear and the stars night. It was centrally located for our hiking in Taos, exploring Taos Pueblo and the Puye Pueblos in Española and Santa Fe/Albuquerque. Highly recommend!! Thanks so much for the hospitality!!
The house was spacious and comfortable, with a view of the mountains and the Ohkay Owingeh pueblo. A good home base to visit Santa Fe and many historic sites.
We had a lovely time at this spot-- the setting was beautiful, and the home clean, comfortable, and safe. We used it as a home base to visit Santa Fe, the O'Keeffe homestead and Ghost Ranch, and multiple nearby hiking trails. It was a perfect setting and so relaxing. Highly recommend.
Beautiful, comfortable accommodations. Owner was very friendly and gave good suggestions for touring and dining. Lovely adobe home. Within an hour of both Taos and Santa Fe. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Good dark sky location.
Everything was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen spacious, the bathrooms had all the luxury comforts you could want and everything was clean and ready to use. The only thing I’d have added was a second, more comfortable couch.
My daughter (30 yo) and I took a dad-daughter road trip for the weekend (9/15-9/18 2023). I chose this spot because it is out of the touristy, high-priced, chain lodging trap. This home is in a residential, rural setting and it is pretty awesome.
I did, as advertised, enjoy the sunrise while having coffee. I was joined by crowing roosters. And that was awesome. At night, we enjoyed very bright stars in the late summer skies. Absolutely stunning ways to start and end the days.
The accommodations are superb: great kitchen appliances, all the utensils, place settings, coffee maker … to make for comfortable living. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and comfortable. Not one complaint about any accommodations.
For me, a strong suit is the location. We were basically a 45-55 minute drive from Taos, from Santa Fe, and from Ghost Ranch. My daughter and I spent time in all three places over our 4-day weekend. Big plus! Espanola is basically 15 minutes away if we needed to run to a grocery store.
I will definitely stay here again. No doubt about it!
Wow! This place is amazing. View is absolutely stunning and feels remote even though it’s only a 15 minute drive to Walmart. Definitely the cleanest place I’ve stayed at and Greg was a great host! 11/10! Pictures do not do this place justice at all!
Staying at Casa El Guiqueno was delightful and restorative. The house is beautifully appointed with a chef's kitchen, relaxing and elegant living and dining spaces, comfortable bedrooms, lovely and unique bathrooms, and a porch which invites rest and relaxation as one looks out on a verdant valley. Greg was a wonderful host.
Our family stayed here with ages ranging from 15 to 85. We all enjoyed the house, the property and the neighborhood. It's a welcoming rural retreat while still being close to the Ohkay Owingeh pueblo and Espanola so there's lots of opportunity to shop for local crafts and check out the local cuisine. We used the high-end kitchen extensively and it was seamless for full meal cooking. We especially enjoyed sitting and eating on the porch while taking in the scenic views. Greg, the property contact, was outstanding to coordinate with including fast responsiveness and thoughtfulness in addressing our needs. I strongly recommend this location as a place to stay.
