Cute weekend getaway

Cute little accommodation hidden within the trees. Very private from the street and neighbours. Great location to sight see and within distance of Uber eat orders if short of time. A nice accommodation for a weekend getaway with the girls.

A relaxing stay amongst the trees

This is a beautiful location nestled on a hill surrounded by the beautiful forests. The garden is spectacular and the property takes full advantage of the beautiful setting. We had kookaburras, rosellas and parrots visit us, not to mention surprise visit from a wild deer! A very relaxing weekend away in such a beautiful setting.

Room to improve

After payment had been made and booking complete, a week or so later we were asked if we could feed the chickens, there is no mention of having to do this in the description, the task itself isn’t strenuous, but I have come to relax, not To mention it is also stated it’s pet friendly and I was kindly approved to have 2 dogs here, of which aren’t great around chicken, luckily they could stay on the deck with us, of which brings me to the fact it isnt stated until you read the guide that the yard isn’t fully secured. Upon arriving we had a steep climb up many stairs to the top, which was fine for us, but should be a mention incase someone is unable to do this. Upon going through the house, it appeared a lot smaller than we had thought, and a lot of clutter. Once we arrived and read the note it also asked for the bins to be put out, which again isn’t strenuous, but again, come to relax, not a working holiday. The stay itself was nice, the house is situated in a lovely spot, very quiet and peaceful and the deck had ample room for us to sit at, although there was a terrible smell that kept coming by that smelt like sewerage that was very off putting. All in all the communication was great and the stay was nice and adequate, just shocked that we were asked to do tasks, and there were things like the chickens and unsecured yard we weren’t aware about. It also took a week and a half to get the deposit back.

Quirky place

It was an ideal spot and had character but we really thought there was too much clutter. Barely any place to put our belongings and because of the clutter we had trouble getting to one of the beds and knocked the lamp over. There was a few things broken and including one step to feed the chickens was broken. I couldn’t fit my car in the garage. It has so much potential the place needs needs less stuff and a bit of tlc.

Wonderful getaway with great views

Our family of four stayed at this property for one week in March. The house sits in beautiful scenery right next to Dandenong Ranges National Park. It is a lush, hilly area with many birds. We wanted to focus on nature and animals on our trip and we couldn't have picked a better home base. It was about 50 minutes to Melbourne, 2 hrs to Phillip Island for the penguins, within one hour from a couple of animal sanctuaries, and a Woolworth grocery store within 10 minutes. The house is multi-leveled with plenty of room for our family. The backyard deck is beautiful. Many birds (including wrens, rosellas, cockatoos, doves, kookaburras, etc.) can be seen and/or heard from the front and back porches. The photos of the home are accurate with the forest theme continuing in the house with plenty of plants and sunlight. The house is positioned up the hill from the road. There is a slightly steep driveway at the property (like most of the driveways in the area). It took us a couple of times to get accustomed to it, but then we had no problems. There are several steps at the property. Steps from the driveway to the house, a few steps within the house, and steps to go beyond the backyard deck. We had no problems at all, but it could be an issue for people with mobility issues, Troy was a wonderful host. He was very responsive before and during our stay. This was our first trip to Australia and we had an incredible time. We hope to return one day and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
