Amazing retreat from busy Antigua!

Our family loved our weekend away from Antigua at this oasis. The style of home, pool, hot tub, grill, landscaping; it was all great and just minutes from downtown Antigua.

Lovely stay at an amazing property!

We had a wonderful time at this property -- it is an incredible combination of luxury accommodation and a museum-like setting. All the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the artwork is stunning. The gardens are lovely, full of flowers, and a relaxing place to spend time. The pre-teen and teen kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub, and used the basketball area as well. We definitely would love to stay here again!

Our stay in a marvelous home

It was stunning, and the photos do not fully do it justice. Privacy and rooms were excellent. We were a bit surprised that this luxury home did not provide soap and shampoo. A place in Antigua half its cost did both. I would recommend the home for other similar groups.

Beautiful and Perfect in Every Way!

Thank you for sharing your lovely home in Antigua. Just the grounds and the house itself was a vacation. Our family ages range from 60 to 6, and everyone had just what they needed to enjoy a first time vacation to Guatemala (except a blowdryer, pack one if you can). The guard gate, house, and yard workers were very friendly. We felt very safe at all times. We were just a few minutes away from wonderful restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. When we return, we will not want to stay anywhere else but here. Thank you!

Beautiful House, gardens & excellent view of Volcano.

This house was amazing. Colonial yet modern. Spacious living and sleeping areas all decorated with beautiful art pieces. The garden was amazing and the view of the volcan de agua was amazing. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi after a day of sightseeing in antigua. Great spot to enjoy and relax with friend, wine and cheese. The property is in a very secure gated community minutes away from Antigua center (5-minute Uber ride). The property host Miguel Gonzalez was very gracious, helpful and answered all of our questions. The property staff was also very helpful and polite. I and the rest of our group loved our stayed on this property. Would definitely book it again when we travel back to Guatemala.

Fantastic Holidays

The house and pool area/flower gardens are stunning. The house is practiclly holding museum art. We arranged for an xtra charge that Magdalena cook for us a few meals. So worth it, to stay in the house and enjjoy family time. Antigua center was not far away, since our party had an 83 year old and 2 small children we took uber several times. Q23 for a 1 way ride. Walking was 15 to 20 mins. We are defenitely coming back.

Happy to visit this place again!

This property is so beautiful and has lots of amenities to keep a large group of family or friends entertained. This is my second time staying at this place, and I really enjoyed it. However, around this time of the year, there were a lot of mosquitoes and a lot of dust around the property. Some of us got some serious allergies and got mosquito bites during the meals, since the mosquitoes were right under the dining table. We also experienced lots of ants in the kitchen. That was the only thing we experienced differently this time. Other than that, the manager Miguel and the housekeeper Magdalena make you feel like home. They're so helpful and make your stay unforgettable.

It was a wonderful and magical experience!

My family and I really enjoyed to stay at this beautiful and majestic property. The pictures do not show all of the beauty this house encloses. Miguel the property manager was an outstanding host making sure that we were accommodated at all times. Alongside Miguel, Magdalena and her daughter Jocelyn were a great help. They cooked a few meals for us and they were delicious making us feel all the love it comes when you eat with your loved ones in your home country. Some of us got to enjoy the beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi this house offers, even though it was this time of the year. Every room has its own bathroom and shower. I recommend this property for any family including kids, you'll have a blast!!! ❤

Great impression on arriving in Antigua

This was the nicest home we have ever rented. The house is very well done; the outside and the inside. Many plants and artwork in every room but all the rooms were very comfortable with several gathering/lounging areas everyone felt at home but not on top of each other. We were two families with two kids each and it worked out beautifully. The master suite was a real treat with its own sitting area and verandah. The garden and pool setting were stunning and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the garden and the views and once the hot tub warmed up we enjoyed that each evening. The only slight drawback, and not much of one, is that it is a bit far to walk into town, this was remedied by a few Tuk Tuk rides and calling a taxi driver that we became comfortable with. This house definitely warrants 5 stars.

Great place to stay for families!

We had an amazing time staying at this house. It is is only a quick 15 minute walk into town and the views are just beautiful from the gardens as well as the balcony. The housekeeper and her daughter, while not speaking any English, are just lovely. Our daughter is adopted from Guatemala so she did enjoy practicing her Spanish talking to the housekeeper's daughter. We did ask the housekeeper about preparing a traditional meal for us one night which she did for a very reasonable rate plus the cost of the groceries. Miguel and Mario did arrange a driver to pick us up from the airport who on the way to the house stopped at a great grocery store so we could start with a few groceries. This was most helpful as we were exhausted and trying to find the grocery store downtown seemed a bit daunting when we had just arrived. There is a little market and 2 great restaurants that are just a 5 minute walk from the house - Joe's Grill and Di Napoli which made it nice that first night. All in all, great trip and great place to stay.

A spectacular home! A must stay!

If you are looking for a large, beautiful, comfortable home for your friends or family right outside of Antigua, stop here. This was probably the most beautiful home away from home we have ever rented. We were a family of 11, including young children, parents, and grandparents, and we all just fell in love with the house from the moment we arrived. The art work in the home--photography by the owner, a professional, ceramics by Guatemalan artists, wonderful old and new craft pieces--surrounded us with Guatemalan life and beauty, yet our children/grandchildren felt free to roam, taking care but never having to "tip toe" around the art. The adults could easily walk to the center of Antigua, and the kids rode the 10 minutes with other adults in tuk tuks or cabs. Antigua itself is a very special old town, fun for shopping and great eating, and lots of walking. We hired a local cook for some dinners, and bought food for our breakfast. The house and garden staff are wonderful and helpful. Weather was perfect every day, not too hot, but still warm enough for the dip in the pool and hot tub were ideal by the end of the afternoon. In short, if you are considering Guatemala for vacation, go to Antigua and rent this fabulous villa!

The best relaxing time in a very long time!

The thing about renting this property is that it creates a conflict with other plans. You just never want to go out and leave the house. Everything about the house exceeded our expectations. From Miguel the administrator to his wonderful staff, they all work hard to Maintain the property and it shows. We spent four amazing days in Monja Blanca and will definitely rent again. I highly recommend it. Though when you rent, Pls take care of all its contents, the house is a jewel of colonial history and it’s gardens and are unparalleled. A truly amazing experience.

Beautiful Villa and Prperty

We had a really great time at Villa Monja Blanca. The house and its surroundings were absolutely beautiful. The grounds and house staff were helpful and respectful. There were two minor concerns about the heating of the jacuzzi and getting the DVD player to work but those were noted to the Property Manager. The property was easy to locate and security readily available. Magdalena and Jose's breakfast preparation was on time and delicious. All in all, we would stay there again! Thank you for great hospitality!

Beautiful home for relaxation

My wife, our girls, and I enjoyed 3 nights and 4 days with her grandparents and sister. House property is just amazing, and plenty of room. Plenty of space for more. Only downside is during rainy season lots of ants in kitchen area so makes it difficult to cook. That said, we’ll be back! Highly recommend for anyone traveling to Antigua!

Perfect family Home

Amazing home! The space was perfect for a family of 12. The pool was a plus for the kids and the master bedroom has views that will take your breath away. The home is kept cleaned and fresh. Our family had an amazing time and the drive to the main town is a simple Five or less minute drive. We didn’t use the lady but they have house keeper she cooks and washes.

Absolutely Superb Villa with Delightful Staff

Quiet location, beautiful gated upscale residential area, gorgeous gardens, spacious rooms in gracious colonial-style villa with casita to match. In addition to the pool and lush landscaping, there’s a covered area with a fireplace and gas BBQ. Also, 2 of the bedrooms and 3 of the gathering areas in the main house had fireplaces. I mention this because we were there in January and this house was designed with keeping it cool in mind. It was cold even though the forecasted temperatures were in the mid-70’s (which only lasted for a few hours in mid-day.). Winter Advice: Take warm robe and slippers, plus more than one sweater or other warm wrap for mornings and evenings. BTW No hair dryers provided. The house manager, Miguel, is very helpful and easy to reach. The mother-daughter team of housekeepers helped make our stay very pleasant and comfortable. Transportation to the Main Square, etc.: TUC TUCs, taxi’s and the “Chicken” bus. Also, walking, but all forms require some fortitude. Each is a bit of an adventure. For the many cobblestone streets in old town we recommend comfortable thick soled shoes. Ask Miguel for restaurant and local tour suggestions...too many good ones to list here! We were 7 adults who loved this haven to return to after our various daytime excursions and mini-adventures! Some of us preferred relaxing at the property to more sightseeing, now and then. We were free to come and go as we pleased! The perfect vacation!!
