Loved staying at this cottage for the week. Guys went out on the deck every morning and evening to fish. Close to shopping in Boothbay, Camden and everywhere in between. All the supplies and cookware you could ever need. We’ll be back!
Comfortable and cozy camp right on the lake shore.
Classic Maine camp at the lake with many updates. The place is right at the shoreline, so the favorite spot is sitting on the comfortable, enclosed porch and watching the loons, eagles and boating activity on the lake. Shorefront deck is also great for eating and relaxing. Kitchen is stocked with essentials. The bedrooms (2 downstairs) are small but comfortable. The upstairs sleeping loft has limited overhead space but would be great for kids. Window air conditioners downstairs and up keep the place cool on those hot days and the stone fireplace is great for chilly, rainy days. The shoreline is in its natural state, so not a great place to swim for very young children. However, swimming off the end of the dock is fine. Other camps are nearby and directly behind the camp is an old family cemetery plot on a hill. Nearby towns of Newcastle and Damariscotta provide plenty of places to eat and shop. Great vacation spot to enjoy the lake and the mid-coast Maine area.
Superb location just steps from the water, wonderfully clean and well set up, this cottage is the perfect place for a Maine vacation. Even after 20 years of coming to Damariscotta Lake, there's always something new to discover in the area - don't miss the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and Glidden Point Oyster Farms on the way back!
We've been to many VRBO properties, but this one was above and beyond what we were used to. The cabin was clean and incredibly well stocked. Cynthia met us upon arrival and went through all the details. She really takes pride in her cabin and it shows. We enjoyed the kayaks and eating meals on the deck. The sun room was another favorite spot to sit and watch the loons and otter float by. Definitely recommend; we hope to come back again!
Little gray cottage was everything we hoped, and more. Enjoying meals on the deck, paddles in the lake, and fishing from the dock, we couldn’t have asked for more. The house has everything we needed. Perfect vacation!
Anybody looking for the perfect, simple, Maine getaway, look no further. Great location, super clean house, everything you could possibly need in amenities, close to town, great swimming, good fishing... Highly recommended!
What a wonderful place to stay - the shady outdoor porch with sun umbrella is perfect for hot days, and the screened porch provides mosquito-free evenings right above the lake (we actually moved the small kitchen table into the porch for our stay so we could eat dinners while looking out over the water - hard to find another cottage where you can dine just a few yards from the waters edge!.) The kayaks were ideal for taking over to Spectacle Island for blueberry picking for morning pancakes. Perfect vacation spot!
The property is a small quaint cottage with no frills but extremely comfortable and clean. The views are beautiful.

The views were incredible as we enjoyed each morning in the lake side enclosed porch area. The location was close to town, lobster co-ops, lighthouses and many sight-seeing options yet, secluded enough to really enjoy a restful vacation. Our pre-teen children loved the rope swing on the island and the fishing off of the dock.
The cottage was clean and well stocked. The owners were so pleasant and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this cottage and this area to anyone that would like to experience Maine.
