The owner was very lovely and easy to contact. The location was perfect. However, it was not clean at all. It needs a deep clean for sure and the layout is a bit odd.

Perfect location

A short trip for me and my adult daughter, so the two rooms and shared bath were perfect! Comfy beds! Kitchen had all our basic needs met- we ate our meals out since everything was in walking distance in the town! Really appreciated the location! Owner was very attentive and the process to check in was easy. They even gave a birthday cake for my daughter’s 26th birthday! Very thoughtful!! Definitely a great place to stay!

Great Napa Weekend

Cottage was perfect for our wine tasting weekend. Location was great as it was an easy walk to town (restaurants, etc.) but far enough away to be quiet during the evening. Also easy access to wineries in the north end of the valley.

Calistoga Fetaway

I have to rave about the great beds, the wonderful down pillows, and the interesting antique furnishings. Including the wall tapestry. The location is very convenient to downtown dining and shopping. The only likmitation was the lack of counter space or a table in the small kitchen.

Worked well for our stay, even if the property is a little quirky

We recently spent 4 nights at Adele's 2 bedroom cottage in Calistoga. The location is perfect for walking to all the great restaurants other shops on Lincoln Avenue. The check in process was very easy. Adele is so friendly, and we appreciated her ideas for places to visit during your stay. The kitchen is located at the back of the house on what appears to have previously been a porch area. It had everything we needed during our stay. However, it is only accessible through the back bedroom so it was odd to have our son and his girlfriend walk through the bedroom we were using in order to use the kitchen. And the bathroom, with a claw foot tub and pedestal sink, is very charming. However there is really no space to put a toiletry bag or other items, and it is easy to get water from the shower on the floor because you have to open the curtain each time you need the shampoo or other item. We made it work, but did miss the conveniences of a more modern bathroom. All in all, we would consider staying here again if it were just my husband and myself. We appreciate Adele's hospitality during our stay.

Wonderful Stay

We loved our stay in Calistoga. Adele was a wonderful host! The cottage was perfect for our weekend in the area. I loved how close the house was to everything in town. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Calistoga. Adele was also super sweet to leave us some freshly ground coffee. My husband thanks you for that. I can be a bear without my early morning coffee.

Good rating

This property is best for younger folks that really enjoy vintage fixtures. It was hard being older getting into the claw leg bathtub. Also the refrigerator was hard to figure out. Or soda froze because it was in the freezer part and we had no way to know that

Napa Wine Trip

The location of the property can't be beat. It's easy walking distance to the main town of Calistoga. A couple of things about the inside of the property that we're clear from the listing: 1) the bathroom has a tub with a cheaply modified shower that worked, but not great. Four of us were still able to use it without any issues; 2)the access to the small kitchen is through one of the bedrooms, and there is no door to separate the kitchen from this bedroom; 3) because of the lack of utensils and size of the appliances, it would be very difficult to actually cook a meal in this kitchen. No worries for us because of all of the great restaurants to be had; 4. The living room furniture was awkward, fairly worn out, and there was too much of it for such a small space, but also not that big of a deal. 5) The mattresses were great and very comfortable. This was the most important part of the intierior.

Filthy outdated cottage

It seems like were the first renters for the season, because we were hit with a pungent odor when we walked into the cottage, which was very musty, dusty, and dirty. What I liked - the two bedrooms and the bathroom were a good size. One BR had a king-size bed and the other had a queen. Both beds were comfortable, had clean linen and pillows. The bathroom had a claw-foot tub, with a shower, a sink, a toilet, and a basket with clean towels. What I didn't like - the odor, the dust, the overall filth, the poor drainage in the tub/shower combination, and the kitchen. The kitchen had an "ice-box" and you had to go through one of the bedrooms to get to it, which led to a lack of privacy for the people in that bedroom and an inconvenience for those sharing the cottage. The living/dining room area had a love-seat, a wing chair, a round dining table with four chairs, a large rectangular table, which held books and dvds, and a tv. The chair cushions were dirty, saggy and lumpy. Overall, the furniture in the living/dining room area is not only dated and dirty - the comfort level rates a zero. In summary, I would not recommend this cottage due to the filth (extremely dusty and musty), poor layout (all guests must go through one of the bedrooms to access the kitchenette), and the furnishing, which are musty, dirty, and lumpy. Thorough, regular cleaning and an update would go a long way.

Great Calistoga Location Yet Needs Some TLC

Visited Napa Valley for first time with my wife and another couple. They love Calistoga and have been to the area six times. We wanted to share common space instead of having separate lodging and this Calistoga Arbor property seem to fit. Is it a "luxury" spot? I'd have to say no. First, for two couples, it is an awkward floor plan. As mentioned in a previous review one of the bedrooms shares space with the kitchen. Make sure the couple in that BR are the early risers and know how to make the coffee! Aside from that the space is quaint with a nice front room for lounging and socializing. The kitchen is adequate yet with so many Napa Valley dining options we only used it for light snacks and bacon and eggs. There is a small refrigerator/freezer combo and microwave as well as a two burner electric stovetop. Beds were very comfortable and closet/dresser options satisfactory. Where the property lacked the most was in cleanliness and preparation. As mentioned earlier we were two adult couples yet received only one towel set per person for a four night stay. There is no washer/dryer. The bathroom shower curtain had a section of mold in one area. Wall trim ledges were extremely dusty as well as the vent fan louvers. Lastly, the garbage disposal did not work and caused some back up in the sink when running water or using the dishwasher. We didn't complain while there as these were issues that shouldn't have been present but weren't worth the hassle of addressing at the time. However, "luxury" it wasn't. It certainly is in a convenient location to downtown Calistoga. Everything is within walking distance! Adele was pleasant to work with prior to our stay and very prompt in response. Yet, she did not greet us upon arrival or check in at any time during our stay. Our friends have stayed in equally valued properties in Calistoga and comparatively recommended those during our next visit.

Living room needs tweaking for comfort. Bathroom too.

First off, when I walked in I thought "This isn't the place I rented." The furniture was different from shown in the photos and the one I rented had an outdoor fireplace. This unit is half of a duplex and the other side was the unit with the outdoor fireplace. But since there were already people staying there I decided to let things slide. The reason I'm marking this as three stars rather than higher (I'm usually a really easy grader) is the lack of comfort in the living room and the fact that this could be fixed with a bit of effort. Explaining: The living room is a long rectangle with a loveseat on one end (by the door) with an arm chair beside it. There is no coffee table in front of the sofa, nor a side table by the chair--basically no place to sit a drink down. The tv is on the wall way at the opposite end of the room. To watch tv you must look over the dining table and chairs. There is only the ceiling light; there are no floor or table lamps in the room so don't plan to read a book. One corner of the room is taken up by a large floral arrangement. At the opposite end with the tv there is a massive table to hold a few books and tv components. The table to be used for dining is an ornate antique in the middle of the room, one where there is so much carving that you can't fit your legs under it. The chairs are very straight, small and uncomfortable. Room could work with a bit of effort. I suggest moving the massive table under the tv down the wall to the corner. Then I'd move the big floral display on to that table, place in corner next to the window. Since the kitchen is so far away, I'd utilize that table to hold the coffee maker and toaster, basically convert it into a 'breakfast room'. I'd purchase a new smallish round table with comfortable seating and put that where the flowers currently are. Move the sofa up to the front window and angle it slightly to face the tv. Pull the arm chair up as well. This would be better for watching a movie. Definitely add a coffee table and some lamps. For the bathroom: a small stand under the blow dryer and a narrow bookcase behind the door would give spots for multiple toiletry kits and to hold those extra towels. Honestly, this place just needs a bit of rearranging for comfort. The location is great and the front garden is lovely. The two beds were very comfortable and checking in and out was a breeze!
