Two Words: The. Porch.

We had a rough start, but a great stay. What a great place to stay - short or long term! The view off the porch is stunning! Peaceful, relaxing, and comfortable. Kitchen is well appointed & had everything we needed. The whole place could use a deep nooks & crannies cleaning, but it’s fine. Complaint: The check in directions we received prior to our stay did not include the Key Code for the front door. We did not realize this until after business hours on Friday. Contacting the property management company through the VRBO portal did not help at first. There was an after hours number, but that seemed to connect to an interior decorating office so I did not leave a message at first, assuming there has been a mistake. All of this delayed us leaving FL as we did not want to get to NC and not have a way into the property. Eventually I left a message with the interior decorator who was able to get us the Key Code. She (Tiffany) was extremely prompt, helpful, and friendly… the only one from Appalachian Land that I felt was reliable and she wasn’t really with them. She went out of her way to help us - my ch more than the company did. I hope they know that she’s the only reason I’d be willing to deal with them again. We were refunded 1 night, but only through Tiffany’s efforts. She’s golden in our books. Property Suggestion: Several windows do not stay open by themselves. A few strong dowels would be very useful to prop open windows during nice weather.

Wonderful beautiful Mountain stay

We loved everything about our stay - the view was magnificent and the beds slept wonderful! Upstairs was really warm compared to downstairs- which my husband and I didn’t mind the upstairs. Wished the toilets had been taller. And it would have really added to the stay if the cabin had been decorated for the Christmas season…but overall it was wonderful. We loved it and hope to stay again in the future ❣️ Deb and family

Weekend in the mountains

This cabin had amazing views. The outdoor space was phenomenal. Easy access to the cabin and very close to town. I gave cleanliness 3 stars because the cabin needed some severe dusting and new linens. This is an amazing property just needs some refreshing.

Another Wonderful Stay

This was our 2nd stay here, and it was as great as the 1st. It’s beginning to feel like a home away from home, and we’re looking forward to the next stay. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and neighborhood. The area seems centrally located to all of the places we wanted to visit. When we were not on the go, it was great to sit on the patio and see the nearby mountains. We had everything we needed at the house and couldn’t have asked for more.

The Place We Love in the Mountains

We have been visiting cabins in Georgia and NC for the last 17 years and when we found the Brasstown View 3 years ago, that was it. We do not consider any other rentals. We love the cabin. It has everything we need for a great vacation in the mountains. The view is one of the best we have seen. The cabin has good, paved road access and is in a very quiet location that we thoroughly enjoy when sitting out. And we want to thank the owner and staff for making our stay at the cabin an enjoyable experience.

Wonderful Mountain Views

We thoroughly enjoyed the property. Fantastic views out the back and out the front. We saw deer every day we were there? Drive to the cabin was a little steep but was very safe and paved all the way, so no problems. Our favorite part of the cabin was the porch, it surrounds the side and rear with plentiful views and space. Fantastic Cabin

Honeymoon getaway

We spent our honeymoon in this cabin and absolutely loved it. The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. It was exactly as described. We loved the fantastic views and warm fireplace. We also loved seeing deer all over the place. The roads leading to the cabin are pretty steep, but they're paved so we didn't have any issues in my car. If it had been snowing, I'm sure a 4 wheel drive would be necessary. The road is paved all the way up to the cabin's parking area, which is gravel. It was very nice to be able to pull right up to the front door to load and unload the car. The check in/out was fine, but a little inconvenient that we had to drive 15 minutes past the cabin to get the key and drop it off, especially considering that the cabin had a realtor key lock box on the door. This was a super minor thing, though. We love this cabin and would love to stay here again. The owner/management company were friendly and very easy to deal with. Thank you again!

Things changed since last stay

I stayed at the same location about six years ago. The changes since then were a smaller TV size and the upstairs Jacuzzi tub removed. The home was pretty much the same other than that and the stay was adequate.

Gorgeous cabin!

We checked in at the local land company to pick up the key and instructions, very easy. Drove to the cabin in the dark and it’s very windy roads, so just keep that in mind. Lots of gorgeous properties on the way up to the cabin- nice nice area. Walked in and were amazed- cabin exactly as described on website- simply beautiful. Everything was well stocked, we did not need anything except food and drinks for ourselves. I think we turned on the tv once, otherwise we sat on the gorgeous back porch and listened to birds chirp and soaked in the gorgeous views. Hummingbird feeder was filled and suet out for birds also! We had a fire one evening, lovely spot! Beds were comfortable although no one slept in Queen downstairs, both our boys slept in twins in same room. Very tastefully decorated- we would love to come back! Thank you! Only issue was downstairs toilet kept running, we notified the property manager.

Amazing Views

The views were memorable and the place is tastefully appointed. Overall an excellent place to stay. The check in and out was a bit cumbersome. It did not have a key pad and we had to drive a ways to get the key. They didnt let us leave the key so we had to drive there again on the way out. They also asked us to wipe off counters and sweep in addition to the usual strip beds, trash, etc. Yet they still charged a cleaning fee.

Dave and I are both native Floridians. Dave was a product of the Hillsborough and Hardee County Public School Systems. I am a product of the Dade and Polk County Public School Systems. Dave worked as a pump mechanic at a large manufacturing firm. He retired June 1, 2018 and unfortunately passed away six weeks later. I was a school teacher, who worked with gifted children, and retired in December 2018. We live in Lakeland, Florida. My family and I have always vacationed in the North Carolina mountains. We love the cool summers and the mountain views. We have two children, married, college grads, with one who graduated from the University of Florida and the other from the University of Central Florida. Our daughter is a nurse practitioner, and her husband is a former Marine and software salesman in Travelers Rest, SC. Our son is an aerospace engineer and his wife is an elementary teacher in Raleigh, North Carolina. My son and daughter in law had my first grandchild, Davis, in June of 2020. Davis is named after my late husband.

Why they chose this property

Dave and I had been looking for a cabin in the mountains for almost a year. We wanted a mountain view, completely furnished, paved roads, and in a mountain cabin community not to far from town. This cabin fit perfectly into our plans.The cool mountain breeze, the great view, and the wildlife make the cabin a great place to visit. It is a great getaway for a vacation!
