We own a two bedroom cottage on 180 ft. of lakefront at the northern end of Lake Chautauqua in an area of large, private summer homes. The lovely screened porch is ideal for mosquito-free dining and relaxing. The kitchen is very modern with a dishwasher, glass top range, large refrigerator, microwave and all the dishes and cooking utensils a cook could possible want. There is even a waffle maker and crock pot. All utilities are included including cable and WiFi. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has two twin. A picnic table is on the front deck and a bonfire pit is by the lakeshore. The owners live on the same two acres so they are nearby if there is a problem.

We enjoyed a quiet week and especially enjoyed the geese, ducks, and tundra swans!
The cottage is located at the end of the lake in a quiet neighborhood. Make sure to talk to Blair at Crystal Marina if you have a boat! The owners put me in contact with him, and he was very accommodating. A big thanks to our hosts!
We stayed 2nights to bike and visit Lake Chautauqua.

About the host
Hosted by Barbara Scofield
We own about two acres of prime real estate on Lake Chautauqua where we spend about six months of the year. Our large summer home is here and is next door to a our rental cottage that has long been in the family. My husband is a retired college professor who has always spent his summers on this lake. I am a retired guidance counselor and have spent summers here since we were married. Our three grown children enjoyed the lake growing up and return as often as possible with our seven grandchildren, We have rented this cottage since 1991 and are proud to say that most of our renters return every summer - some as long as 20 years. It is a very quiet, peaceful setting on the lake. Amish buggies frequently pass by on our road
Why they chose this property
We are at the northern end of the lake in an area referred to as Sandy Bottom Bay - making it ideal for swimming and boating. Our dock has piling in the lake to make it a safe place to dock all sizes of boats. With two acres, there is plenty of room to store your boat trailer. Many of our renters return every year and during July and August we do not take rentals for less than one week. Our weeks go from Friday to Friday so that our renters are able to enjoy a complete two day weekend when they arrive, a great time to invite guests.
What makes this property unique
Our cottage has been lovingly taken care of. We pride ourselves on a clean, cozy, friendly place to spend a week or two. The view down the lake is beautiful. Great blue heron frequent our dock and families of ducks, geese and swans float by.
