About this property

On the Selkirk Loop & the route to Banff or Glacier, just off US 95 and 2

Our guest house is located just north of Bonners Ferry, Idaho at the crossroads of US 95 and US 2. US 95 leads north to Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada which is 5 hours away. US 2 leads east to Glacier National Park in Montana. It is about 3 hours away. We are scenically located between three mountain ranges where there is an abundance of hiking, fishing, kayaking and other outdoor activities.

Our guest house has a view of several mountains in the three ranges. From the bedroom window you can see two peaks across the valley floor (locally known as 'Blacky and Clifty") and then the 7 sisters in the Selkirk range. We've been told by more than one person that we have the best views in the county. We are situated on 6 acres which are home to plenty of wildlife and you will have a good chance to see deer and wild turkeys.

The guest house is an apartment on the backside of a large unattached garage next to our house. It has its own private entrance and parking area out of site from our house. This unit is new construction built within the last 8 years and it is where we lived as our house was being built. We have rented it to longer term renters the past couple of summers. It has 1 bedroom with a queen bed; a kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher; a living area with a futon, extra chair and desk; a bathroom with tub/shower; and a utility room with a stacking washer/dryer. The unit is on one level however there are 5 steps to the front door. There is an outside sitting area for you to relax and enjoy great views.

We are open to price considerations if you wish to stay a week, or if you wish to stay a month or longer.

Country setting

Had enjoyable time at this location. Enjoyed the outdoor feel. May be a challenge when staying while extremely hot outside due to AC problems. Otherwise had a wonderful time.

Serene quiet stay-NO TRAINS!!!

A beautiful spot in the country. Seen does with their fawns and wild turkeys with a dozen little chicks all overlooking the mountains. Three waterfalls easily hiked within 10 miles. Hosts are wonderful.

Great base for outdoor central

This is a great location for anyone wanting to explore off the usual tourist path. Evenings are wildlife central with deer and turkeys visiting the back yard. During the day, one can take a variety of short trips to Bonners Ferry (Chamber of Commerce has excellent information)or north to Creston BC Great orchards and three wineries and a large brewery). To the east is Kootenai Falls and Libby MT. In addition there are several small lakes and numerous hikes. My husband and I found the accommodations to be clean and quite comfy. We did much of our own cooking and found having a full kitchen to be an added benefit. Having a washer and dryer was much appreciated especially after a day of trail walking. This property was an accidental find. Lucky for us! We'd stay her again... without hesitation.

Wonderful little hideaway!!

We needed a little place to stay while we looked for property in Idaho and this house was absolutely perfect. The house was clean and functional. We were able to cook meals and do laundry with the stackable washer and dryer. It fits a medium size load for a standard washer! The owners allowed us our privacy and were also very quiet. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to our friends and family!!!

Really clean both outside and inside of this space.

This place is great. The guesthouse is inviting the moment you pull into the driveway. There were two red chairs waiting for us on some grass, which we enjoyed in the warm evening or with your dinner. There is lots of natural light through the two windows in the livingroom/dining room area, and the view from the bedroom window is beautiful. The apartment felt super clean and cared for. The bed was comfortable and absolutely stunning - handmade out of wood. There was lots of storage for our clothing and bags. The Idaho decor really added to the mountain-vibes of this home, which helped us feel like we truly got away. This was a great stay for us, only two hours away from our hometown but on the way to so many things. Dennis and Sue are super helpful and welcoming, and have created a great little hideaway for all of us to enjoy! We will not hesitate to return.
