About this property

La Casita at DHS -POOL/Hot-Tub Clean & Disinfected

"La Casita" is a quaint mini hacienda with a comfortable big family room. Great place for a relaxed get-away.
The palm trees, bugambilias and cactus plants will transport you. Perfect place to relax and enjoy family and friends.

There is only one bedroom. However, there are 3 comfy couches and 2 air-mattress available.

Coffee Lover's Needs: Expresso Maker, Cold Brew Maker and French Press!
Kitchen: equiped with the basics

Board games, cards and books available for entertainment.

La Casita is in Desert Hot Springs (close, but NOT Palm Springs). Palm Springs is 10-15 miles away, depending to what part of town you are going.

Grill in the backyard - available for you to use

La Casita is perfect for two people. Its good for 4 if you do not mind the air-mattress. Kids usually think its fun! The air mattress are easy to pump- are there is space to put them in the family room. Only saying this to give you a realistic expectation.
La casita can accommodate 7 if you really do not mind sharing one bathroom with a lot of people and if 3 of you do not mind sleeping in a couch. However, please know 7 is not the ideal. I only allow 7 to be flexible.

At La Casita you can feel at home while traveling for work!
Extra Phone charger available
Desk with basic supplies office supplies available
Sturdy wood hangers, Iron and Ironing board can be found inside the bedroom armoire.

La Casita is suitable for small business meetings. Its convenient open-kitchen concept is suitable for a small event. Additional charges may apply for events.

SUPER IMPORTANT: La Casita NOW HAS an in-ground salt-water pool and hot tub. Its private and we have a privacy fence all-around!
The pool has a cascade of water from 9am to 5pm that flows from the hot-tub to the pool. Keep in mind the entire pool is not heated. Pool has nightlights for late night fun swims. SUPER IMPORTANT: Keep the small gate (between pool and house ) close and also the main gate that goes to the outside. No need to lock it, but it is important to keep it close. Please reference the pool & hot-tub rules in the house and also in this listing. Because this is a residence and not a hotel/resort and too keep the nightly price lower than others, the hot-tub is not on all day... All you need to do is let us know 1 to 3 hours before the time you are getting ready to go into the hot-tub - for us to remotely turn it on for you. Keep in mind it takes about 1 hour to heat-up (sometimes less, depending on the weather - but only here mentioning to give you a realistic picture), and it will stay on for 2 hours for your enjoyment. We can turn it on for you two times per day.... when you are ready to go in for your 15 min hot tub session (mentioning here for safety reasons to emphasize that long periods in the hot-tub is not healthy). Please note the pool/hot-tub is for the registered guests use only and no parties are allowed without prior approval.
Note: to keep the nightly price lower than others, we opted to limit the hot-tub to 4 hours per day. However, If you wish to use the hot-tub longer we can accommodate for an extra fee: $50 for every 2 hours.
Please reference pool & hot tub rules.
The pool equipment is all pre-programmed. To avoid equipment damaged, guests are not permitted to touch any valves, buttons or switches related to the pool/hot-tub.
The experience is lovely! And I know you will for certain enjoy it.
I love to host, I aim to please and I do my best to keep good communication to aid you in whichever way you need help/support. Please reach out.... my goal is for you to have a lovely, stress-free, relaxing stay.

IMPORTANT: The location is Desert Hot Springs and NOT Palm Springs. The location is not suitable for not having a car. Its NOT in the middle of bars, restaurants and the hustle and bustle of things. (Again I only say this to give you a realistic expectation).
The pace of life in this little town of Desert Hot Springs is slow.
Please keep in mind this is a private home, not a hotel. We try our best to provide you with the best stay. But, please do keep in mind that this is a home. Events and Parties are not allowed.
Please keep in mind this is a private home, not a hotel. We try our best to provide you with the best stay. But, please do keep in mind that this is a home.
Access to the entire house. There is a small tiny backyard area for cooking-out. All the space will be yours.

OTHER THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
No loud music after 10pm.
No smoking inside the house.
Furniture can only be moved by the host.
Trash should be placed in the bins and the host will take care of the rest.
Front door must be locked upon departure from the space; please use lock box and key code provided.
La Casita is conveniently only 15 miles away from Palm Springs’ upscale restaurants. However, it’s not in Palm Springs. Please note the location is NOT Palm Springs.
Grocery store is 1.5 miles away (less than a 5 min drive).

Neighbors on both sides of La Casita have dogs. However there are no dogs in the property.
Please remember this is a home, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise let me know right away.

Great getaway

I took a 3 day weekend with my dog to get out of my winter wonderland of where I live to get some sun and a quiet place away from the home and office. The host was great to communicate with as needed but was not needed much. Everything is there ready for you to use. Only one thing that can be improved is a little more light in the backyard at night time when the motion lights are turned off. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Was as advertised but…..

The property was fine and I love the added bonus room and the kitchen. We left a day early because we found a Condom at the foot of the bed so we ended up sleeping in the couch and leaving early the next day

La Cassita, a spa retreat in the making.

The house is charming. The bed is comfortable. The fences do give a secluded feeling away from the cares of the world. When the pool is completed it will be a true spa experience.

Beautiful small home

The house is beautiful and I'm sure the pool/spa will be after the construction is finished. The location however leaves much to be desired...... we heard gun shots every evening and the deadbolts don't work on either door....other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Nice home with private outdoor spaces in a neighborhood

We really enjoyed our stay at La Casita. The landscaping is very nice, there are two separate private outdoor sitting areas, one off the living room and the other on the front of the home. A new pool and hot tub is being installed in the front yard, and it is private, too, because of fencing. The 'original' part of the home is small, one bedroom and one bathroom, but is well done as the pictures show. The living room was added later and is also well done. The landscaping is pleasant and the home is relaxing and quiet despite being in a neighborhood. But because of the fencing and because the home is well off the residential road (which does not have high traffic), it feels more private and quiet. We didn't see the owner but she was very responsive via messaging and she was nice and accomodating. We recommend La Casita.

Perfect for Joshua Tree visit

Charming, spacious, beautiful, comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen. Neighborhood is windy but once within the property’s gates you find a private, calm oasis. Easy drive to Joshua Tree NP.

Enjoyed the casita

I loved the Mexican decor of the casita - beautiful tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. We were happy there. The bed was comfortable, the lighting good, the housewares adequate, though potholders and a couple of new cutting boards would have been nice. We came to this dry desert area so that I could get relief from a mold illness brought on by the mold in New England. I found that I felt much better at the casita than I did at home. That was great! The only bad thing was the strong odor of bleach in the bathroom when we arrived. When that odor subsided there was a strange funky odor so we kept the bathroom door closed. I don't know what the problem was, but it needed some treatment other than bleach.

La Casita

Had a wonderful stay. The home is roomy, quaint, and plenty of seating. Great tv. Kitchen and dining area is very functional. Liked that the property is fenced in. Would liked to had forced air heating. Bathroom was a little small. Overall I recommend the casita.

Very cute and comfy home next to delicious places to eat!

Very interesting older home that has the kind of history of adding rooms and growing that I love, this home has a TON of personality! The living room is very spacious and has a huge (maybe 60+") TV that isn't shown in the pictures (it has a FireStick with Netflix, Amazon Prime) etc. I've stayed in all the surrounding cities and haven't run into a nicer bunch of people than in DHS, everyone was nicer than nice. Almost as if that town has a hidden secret that I've never encountered. Palm Springs is only about a 10 minute drive away. Because of all the large mountains around be prepared for some windy conditions :- ) Out of all the VRBO/AirBNB's I've stayed at this is one I would love to come back to! Lastly, when we arrived the wind had actually knocked the power out about an hour before we walked in the door. I contacted Patty and she responded to me immediately and called the power company which came out quickly and fixed the problem. Patty had us fixed up very fast!
