A Mountain Haven, Far Enough But Not Too Far From the Hubbub.

Pigeon Forge can be a high-stress vacation area, with tons of attractions, eateries and shops to choose from lining both sides along the heavily traveled main road. If you can find an idyllic retreat, just 10 minutes or so from the hubbub, nestled in the trees on a hilltop with a view of the Great Smoky Mountains, you have the perfect counterpoint. That was our family's view of the Sonny Daze "cabin" (in quotes since it seems unusual to refer to a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom, 3 floor home, with multiple decks, a front porch, a hot tub and pool table in a loft as a cabin, but with the all-wood interior and log-construction, that is appropriate) Sure, there were some imperfections - a nonfunctioning icemaker, cool (as opposed to "warm") type light bulbs, confusing remote controls (a universal problem) - but they were easily overlooked, and when maintenance folks were summoned to look at a slow leak from the hot tub, they were quick to respond. The management staff at this resort is friendly and accommodating, and effective in the fine shape that the many recreation facilities are kept. The nearly 1 mile drive up the hill is steep and curving. It is highly recommended to arrive during daylight hours since it is much more challenging at night. Once driven, you get used to it, taking it slow. Dollywood was great fun for the entire family, and the trips to Gatlinburg (more toned down, attractive and pedestrian oriented than Pigeon Forge) and the National Park also highlights.

Nice cabin

Spacious and comfortable. Great location. Some suggestions for management or owners- add some food storage containers for leftovers and serving/ mixing bowls. The kitchen was well equipped otherwise. The lighting in the kitchen was horrible. Adding some under cabinet lighting or some more overhead light would be awesome. We used 4 out of the 5 tubs and the jets did not work. We let the office know at checkout. We had a great visit overall. Thank you

Best family time ever!

From the time we hit confirm on our reservation to the time I turned in our keys the experience was phenomenal. The cabin was big enough for our family and there was plenty to do indoors and outdoors. We would definitely stay there again!

Mountain Family Retreat

We enjoyed the cabin tremendously~ had 9 adults and 1 infant with plenty of room. Our favorite was the wide deck with the view and hot tub and the mother bear and cubs that climbed the tree behind the cabin. Thank you for the experience!

First Smoky Mountain trip.

The property was spacious and the views spectacular. We had 7 adults and 6 children in our group. Honestly we wouldn't have needed to leave the property to keep everyone happy. The pool, mini golf, the par 3 golf and fishing ponds were all we needed. The lodge with the fire pit was an added bonus. We were able to use it one evening which allowed us to have a fire and it looked down on one of the fishing ponds, mini golf and the pool. The kids could run back and forth and still be in sight. All this at no extra charge. This was our first time to the area so we did leave and do some exploring. The location was close to all the activities in Pigeon Forge.

1st time resorters

The cabin was not as clean as we felt it should be and needs a bit of updating. It did easily accomadate and provide entertainment for our party of 10 ranging in age from 3 to 90years old, but there is only one way to enter the cabin and you have to get up and down some pretty narrow steps which can be tricky for the really young and old. The parking was also tricky and will not easily accomadate more than 3 cars. We come every year to this area and this was our 1st time booking in a resort. We liked having so much to do outside right there and even with so many cabins around it was still quite and peaceful. We also really enjoyed how conveinant it was to the parkway in Pigeon Forge.

Comfortable, beautiful and clean home

We really enjoyed our stay! It was comfortable and well kept. The only concerns we had were the bears we saw literally by our cars, front door, etc. and so we hadn’t realized our kids wouldn’t be able to play outside.
