Owner’s lack of compassion
After two tough years following my mother’s stroke. My family and I rented this property to enjoy and have a great time together. Four days prior to our arrival, my nieces got COVID, and on the day we were supposed to arrive to the property (Sunday, August 8, 2021), my mother was at the emergency room with a risk of having another stroke, and my dad was sick. The news also said there was a hurricane in Puerto Vallarta.
I made a request to change the date of our vacation, but I was told that the property manager didn’t work on weekends, that I could contact him on Monday. We contacted VrBO, and we were told that the property owner should decide about our request.
The property manager said the property owner didn’t want to change the date of our vacation, regardless of my nieces having COVID, my mother ending up at the emergency room, and my father feeling sick. And they also said there was no hurricane there and it wasn’t even raining.
That week there was a landslide close to the property we rented due to severe rain. My nieces and my mother got better, but sadly, my father passed away. It’s just so sad to see the lack of compassion and understanding this property managers and owners show. Specially on this difficult times we all are living.
