Riverside Getaway

The property is in a beautiful location, with a very nice and comfortable room. The property managers were great. We were received our first night with homemade cookies, and with a warm homemade breakfast every morning. We woke up to the sunrise over the hills at the Tennessee River in the mornings and sat at the dock to watch the sunsets in the evenings. An overall wonderful experience.

Nice, secluded area

On a long curvy road from either way. We don't mind driving and it was beautiful scenery, but if you want to be close to restaurants and things then this isn't the place for you. Very clean, quiet (we never heard any neighbors) and the free breakfast is a nice touch!

Amazing view, delicious hot breakfast and warmth welcome.

It was a daughter and mom getaway trip to Chattanooga, TN. On our way to this place you will see lots of trails, kayak, fishing area, river and mountain views. Susan's place have an amazing heaven views and clean Suite. Me and my mom enjoyed our stay for 4 days and 3 nights stay. We couldn't resist to take selfies in their boat dock. Every morning when we wake up, it was an absolute relaxing view infront of our Suite. My dream came true for my mom to see the mountains and river since we live in Florida . We had a delicious hot breakfast made by Susan every morning. I highly recommend this place. Don't forget to stop by Walmart if you need to buy some stuff. It's a 45 mins drive to Ruby Falls, Rock City, and Inclined train , you will enjoy your view on your way in and out.

Worth it!

For our first time to Chattanooga, this was a great place to stay - nearish to Chattanooga (and I only say this because it was a bit of a drive to get to as we wound around the river to get to the B&B) and right on the river, with an amazing view of the hills..so peaceful and serene. Susan and Jerry were extremely hospitable. That morning breakfast basket was A-MAZING - hot breakfast sandwiches and warm baked goods. The room was a perfect size for us. I would highly recommend staying here.

Relaxing retreat

Susan was a lovely host and the suite was exactly as described. Sitting on the dock and looking at the river was refreshing for the soul. Kayak and canoe rentals are available at several places and while the drive in to the property is meandering, it's beautiful. The road is in very good repair but is lake front access road: so it's up and down and curvy and match the terrain.

Best views and even better hosts

We came down for our friends wedding and decided to come a little early and enjoy Tennessee. We got there late but the next morning after waking up we looked out and the view was amazing! Susan and Jerry provide a delicious breakfast each morning as well. They were super sweet and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We can’t wait to go back some day!

Great property on the river, the room was clean and well decorated and the basket of delicious goodies for breakfast. Everything about this rental was outstanding except the 30 minute drive in and out on a long pothole ridden road.

Cozy little bed and breakfast felt like home.

My husband and I needed some much needed R&R and The Mallard Room here was more than what we expected. When we walked in our room it was so welcoming and absolutely beautiful. The property was very clean and the views of the river and mountains were gorgeous and breathtaking. It was very quiet which is what we wanted and simply relaxing. Susan was amazing and her homemade cooking reminded me of my grandmas. Everything was always hot, very delicious and plentiful. If I could give more than 5 stars I would and both my husband and I agreed that this little oasis is definitely one for the books and we will continue to go back. Thank you so much Susan for having us and we can’t wait for our next adventure there.

Excellent Private Hideaway with Spectacular Views

I cannot say enough positive about this property and the owners. Booking was easy and inexpensive. No outlandish fees. The owners checked with us for food allergies in advance. They sent very thorough directions, as well as suggestions for restaurants and entertainment. The long windy road to get to the property, follows the river and was a fun, pretty drive in. The property feels tucked away into nature, yet easy to access. It felt very private even tho neighboring houses are nearby. The mallard room was decorated accordingly, very cozy, welcoming, and felt like home. A bag of cookies & popcorn awaited us on the counter. Ample towels for our stay, as well as dish soap and kitchen towels to wash our coffee cups and tea plates. They left the lights on and music playing for our evening arrival. The awesome lighted dock is literally steps from the porch. The day and night views are spectacular. The dock has seating upper and lower level to enjoy a night cap or morning coffee. Lots of fish if you like to fish. It was quiet!!!! Each morning a picnic basket with breakfast sandwiches, homemade cookies and scones and bread were delivered to our door! Delish!! Just Be sure to bring your own drinks with you! There are sodas for purchase in the fridge! We did see the owners coming and going and they were super friendly! He even offered to help when my husband was changing our flat tire (not related to the trip.) It was truly a wonderful, romantic, quiet getaway for us and we absolutely loved it. We are planning a return trip in the fall to bring our family and rent both units! We highly recommend this property and the owners. If we absolutely had to list a negative it would be the bed was too firm for us, amd the mattress protector was a little stiff. We prefer plush bedding. But that absolutely won't stop is from coming back! We can't wait.

Beautiful, peaceful, and remote

This is a wonderful property for anyone looking for a lovely, peaceful nature get-away. The property, right on the Tennessee River, is gorgeous and we really enjoyed sitting out on the dock watching boats and birds, and also seeing the deer, wild turkeys, horses, and a goat on the 11-mile rural road up to the property. That road in is a doozy, though. It’s narrow, twisty, and poorly paved for long stretches. Drive slowly and carefully and you’ll be ok but unless you’re used to that kind of thing, you probably won’t want to drive it at night. There are no ice machines or vending machines at the house, so bring what you need in with you. Coffee, sugar, and powdered creamer is provided. Bring your own milk/creamer if you prefer that. We also found a bag of cookies kindly left for us and some sodas for sale in the mini fridge. The fresh and warm baked goods in a basket each morning were lovely. We only caught a quick glimpse of our host, but she was really great about answering texts quickly and was truly accommodating. If you have limited time and plan to spend most of it in downtown Chattanooga, this might not be your best bet, since it takes a good 45 minutes to an hour to get downtown, depending on traffic and weather. But if you’re looking for solitude and nature, this is your destination.
